We stayed here during a business trip. I came in with our dog so Hotel Monaco was pretty much our only option. We will stay at Kimpton Hotels as often as possible moving forward. Everyone was incredibly nice and the rooms were as-expected. If you're traveling with a pet they offer dog walking services and will give you a dog bed and dog bowls to use during your stay.

The hotel is very nice and whimsical. It's very dog-friendly and there are treats at the front desk. Our room had a light Alice in Wonderland theme. I'm not sure if all of them are themed. I stayed in a corner room with a king sized bed facing the Liberty Bell. There was an amazing soaking tub in the room. Overall, the decor was playful and my experience was great. There is a night club within as well. Judging from the line up in front, it seems popular.

It's located in historic Philadelphia with a great atmosphere around the hotel. On the tenth floor is the stratus lounge, where they have a seasonal opening every year. The lounge has amazing drinks that are custom designed by a young bartender there, and one drink called Rosemarys baby, I highly recommend. The drinks cost on the higher end but are worth the experience of a roof top bar.

Wish i could give this established hotel 5 stars but an unpleasant employee is the reason for this review. I stayed here on 02/29/20 to 03/01. Overall the hotel is beautiful and rooms are extremely clean and elegant. The valet were the first that i came across and they were very helpful, attentive and great personality. A+ there. Next was the bellman whom held the door open for me and my girlfriend and was very welcoming. Then i came to the check in where everything changed. I do not remember the hotel front desk clerk's name but she was an african american woman with long micro braids. She was extremely unwelcoming. There wasn't even a "Good afternoon and welcome to the hotel Monaco" "Is this your first time staying here?" I was not even greeted by my name even after handing my ID. There was just a negative vibe and she just asked for my credit card and ID. I was handed the hotel room key cards, told that i was on the second floor and that was it. No smile or anything. I notified management and spoke to the manager "Kate". She claimed that she was going to speak to that employee about that but i do not think she did because the morning of check out. The same front desk clerk was there and still very unpleasant even at check out. There was no "Good morning or how was my stay". Not even a "have a good day" after she took the god d@mn key cards at check out. Not sure if she's seen African american people check into the hotel before but i believe she was acting like this because i was African american and that i had the money to stay here. In my culture, it is very common for other African americans to act rude or unpleasant when they see another African american doing well for theirself. i highly doubt that she was rude to the white guest that checked in. Not sure how she even got the job there because everybody was just so friendly and vibrant with energy and she was the debby downer of the front desk. I am not trying to be funny but i have stayed at low cost hotels like holiday inn, red roof, best western and the front desk there are pleasant and welcoming with good energy. Again i am not bashing the hotel itself as i stated that it is very elegant and clean, i just feel as if i did nothing wrong to deserve that type of treatment by the front desk especially when these rooms start at $300 per night. I can guarantee that they will not respond to this review but future references. Rude and unpleasant staff can be the reason why such a great establishment can fall short.

What a treat! What a great treat. This hotel is modern, the decor is eclectic and the staff was first rate. They called to ensure I had all that I needed. When there had been a delay in checking in and a problem with my room key, they rectified the problem as soon as possible (once the internet was working again), they then graciously sent a gift with a hand written card of apology.

This hotel was opened 5 years ago and provides spacious accommodations with spectacular decor. You are NOT stuck in a cramped room with a small bathroom. All the amenities were there (with the exception of an in-room coffee machine). That being said, there was freshly brewed coffee or tea available in the stylish lobby every morning.

If you are thirsty throughout the day, there is always flavoured ice water (strawberry & mint or cucumber) and iced tea. Maybe you need a light libation around 5 pm? No problem, most nights there was a complementary happy hour of wine or non-alcoholic punch. The lobby has long sofas and seating areas that you can linger at and enjoy.

The hotel is conveniently located directly across from the Liberty Bell Centre and Independence Hall, down the street from Independence Visitors Centre and beside The Bourse (a large food court).

You are a few blocks from Carpenter's Hall, the brand new Museum of the American Revolution, The Second Bank of US (and Portrait Gallery) to name a few.

Great location, large comfortable rooms and a winning staff! You cannot go wrong with the Kimpton Hotel Monaco.

We had a terrible experience at Hotel Monaco. We booked 30 rooms for my daughters wedding. The staff gave a hard time for every request we made. They claimed we upgraded one of the rooms and when through an online link and when I claimed I didn t the manager Nina M. Refused to believe me. We also blocked rooms at the Renaissance Hotel. They were very accommodating and gracious to our guests. Hotel Monaco needs to work on customer service!

Dogs took over the hotel. Kimpton hotels have been my favorite and I had high expectations for this one. Decor didn't disappoint and neither did the service. They work hard to please. The restaurant staff are very friendly and the food is good. The thing is Kimpton hotels allow dogs. When they first started doing that, I didn't care but now, as they have become popular for this, they have become a dog hotel. The rooms stink of dogs! I had the sheets changed, I had two different rooms and still it stunk. Even my clothing stunk, especially if you sit on the decorative pillows that don't get cleaned as often. The dogs bark at night as owners have to walk them, constantly slamming the doors. The location is perfect but not sure I would put up with a dog hotel again.

Great stay during graduation week. Rooms quiet and adequate in size.

Had to ask for coffee maker.
No tub in many rooms if that s an issue.
Great location... handy to history walks.

Stayed here for a law school competition. The front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful. Not only were the rooms were very nice and clean, but I also need their interior decorator to decorate my house. Also, the fitness room, while not huge, was on the larger side of the hotel fitness rooms I have personally seen. Would definitely stay here again!

Wow! This is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The staff were SO incredibly friendly and the decor was super funky(colorful wallpapers, a plethora of artwork, etc.) There was a complimentary wine and hot cider hour from 5-6 pm and the mini breakfast place in the hotel makes scrumptious pancakes, eggs, quiches, etc.) I just adored this place and I will most definitely come back here.

Highly Recommend. We visited for our anniversary and the team at Hotel Monaco upgraded our room to a suite and sent wine & cheese to our room to kick off the celebration. Great location on The Mall next to Independence Hall and one block from The National Constitution Center. Professional and courteous staff. The Red Owl Tavern has an amazing brunch too.

A well-meaning but ultimately incompetent staff unable to deliver clear communication on a weekend that was supposed to be perfect or as close to it as possible.

First, they charged one of my groomsmen $800 at the front desk for a room that was already paid for costing him to overdraft his checking account. We nearly lost our rehearsal dinner reservation sorting out the error.

The staff constantly harassed my wedding party about our dog at a supposedly dog friendly hotel forcing the mother of the bride to leave our wedding to find the apparently barking dog asleep on a bed.

Think the room rate is set in stone? Be very very careful to review your bill and if something isn t right you should contest it on the spot. After we got home we discovered the hotel charged us in excess of $5,000 for 4 rooms at 2 nights. Two suites. Two standard. That s double the rate we were quoted, which wiped out my now wife s checking. Simply an awful experience filled with excuses and a staff that was either unwilling or unable to amend consist issues.

Awful hotel that blasts music late into the night from its rooftop club. No regard for the people staying there who are trying to sleep or the residents in the neighborhood. This is not a Fri or Sat night thing. I'm laying here awake on a Thurs night listening to the DJ spout profanity and loud blasting music. Many noise complaints filled. I wont be staying at any Hotel Monaco or Kempton properties again and I'd encourage you do do the same. Thanks for reading.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but they really need to have someone vacuum the carpets regularly. There was dog hair all over the elevator floors. On a positive note, the hotel has lovely decor & the staff is excellent.

Had a room booked for a 1 night stay. Upon arrival, they tell me that the hotel is sold out and can't accommodate. Never had this happen before. Don't know how I can give anything more than a one star. Avoid it at all costs.

All I can say is wow!!! From now on, this hotel will serve as the gold standard for all my future vacations. This hotel had everything anyone would ever want . They pay attention to a lot of details to making sure that your stay is most enjoyable down to the smallest details like the plumbing fixtures, emergency umbrellas, mirrors for contact users, with so much more that I can mention. The price for the room was so well worth it and having a great valet service meant that I didn't have to look for offsite parking. They have a great gym to work out with all the amenities complete with towels, water and fruit. I felt very safe and secure during my stay and the have a great housecleaning staff, This hotel is so central to all the historic sites and within walking distance to shops and restaurant. Having a great place to return back after a long day of sightseeing was a great relief and I looked forward to coming back for a great nights sleep!!!Everything was so clean!!!!The AC worked great and trust me, it was a relief from the heat wave that hit Philadelphia during the my 3 night stay. To the entire staff at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco, thank you for making my stay in the lovely city of Philadelphia so memorable!!!!!

Really nice place and the staff was very helpful to us.

When we checked into our room, I got a text from housekeeping letting me know if I wanted anything to let them know and they would take care of it. I did have a minor request, it was taken care of ASAP.

The view was great from our room, I could not have asked for better.

The only downside I had was that they double billed me. I had paid in advance and the woman charged me again when I checked in, and at a higher rate. When I noticed the charge but thought maybe it was a pre-auth. When it did hit my CC I was already back home, I called and the nice woman reversed the charge right away.

Another fantastic hotel from the Kimpton family. Although each hotel is unique the excellence in service and quality is guaranteed. Location could NOT be better. The neighborhood is so lovely I opted to walk home from Zahav and could not have been happier. Feels like stepping back in time. The staff were wonderful-everyone from the valet to the front desk to the housekeeping staff was wonderful. Can't wait for my next trip.

The room was well decorated, spacious, and had everything normally needed. Even in a wedding block the prices were pretty high. It is definitely in the best part of philly - where you can walk to literally everything.

My boyfriend and I traveled here this past weekend for my work trip as I was in the city to re-open my restaurant post covid closure. The staff was extremely accommodating, professional and kind! Omar and Roshid to name a couple! I had to put up a few of my employees in rooms to come support on the opening and they really took care of them as well. We will definitely be staying with them every time we travel to Philadelphia. We recommend to anyone traveling to Philadelphia area :)

Spent this weekend at Hotel Monaco Philadelphia. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and everything one would hope for in a boutique hotel. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooftop bar was spectacular for relaxing and having a few drinks. The room was elegant, spacious, spotlessly clean, and well appointed. When traveling to Philadelphia, I will only stay at Hotel Monaco.

Stayed here for 6 nights and really experienced the new normal arrangement. Coffee and Tea in the morning as well as Wine Hour in the evening (the Kimpton stable) are canceled. All public facility (rooftop, fitness center) are all closed. No valet or house keeping service, in fact I have been told the house keeping staff must wait 48 hours after guests checked out before they can enter the guest room to clean.

While there are disappointments over the closure and cancellation of facilities, service and amenities, I do respect hotels making the necessary adjustments to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff. Masks are required in any public area throughout the hotel, hand sanitizer in the lobby and inside each elevator. Only one party inside the elevator at a time.

What I truly enjoyed staying at Kimpton Monaco Phl is the fact that staff were very friendly and tried their best to accommodate my requests. In my case, it's sending a foldable table over to the room, extra robes and towels, and even helped us to switch to a new room because the lack of house keeping has made the living situation unpleasant after night 4. For the most part, texting directly to the front desk has been very easy and staff are responsive in most cases.

I used the hotel internet with my laptop and cell phone. For some reasons I notice there is a huge speed issue with my cell phone device. After enduring for a while I ended up using my own data plan for the remaining of my stay.

For most who are traveling for the weekend stay, I think it's a great experience. The location is wonderful, right next to the liberty bell. There are also many parks and good restaurants nearby in the area within walking distance. And it doesn't hurt Kimpton is a pet friendly hotel, my pup absolutely has a great time here

The staff are polite, informative, and I had the best night rest because of how plush the mattress felt! The room and bathroom was exceptionally clean, lots of closet space to hang your clothes (loved the added his and her closet space)!! Great for walking. Shops, restaurants, and 30th street Stanton are all within walking distance Shops such as Nordstrom s, Sephora, Macy s and the reading terminal are all within walking distance. Kelly drive is a place along the interstate 76, if your looking for a place to bike ride or walk they have a 8 mile walking path. Great service!

I have the fortune of staying at alot of hotels in the city and this is my favorite by far. It is a great location for sightseeing and you can walk to all the old city bars. Tons of restaurants within walking distance and it has a greart rooftop bar that's always fun. Don't forget to try brunch in the morning at the restaurant, top notch. Five stars!
