It is a fantastic hotel. The lobby restrooms were a hike to get to and the parking was not clear or easy to deal with unless you valet. The rooftop bar has a dress code and makes it difficult to enjoy. Other than that awesome rooms and location.

I was at the hotel Monaco for the 2016 Philadelphia Tech Summit, so I did not experience the rooms. The ballroom we were placed in was very Tastefully decorated the lobby, and reception area we're very classicly styled. Based on my observation of the lobby in the ballroom and my interactions with Hotel staff I would have no problems spending a night in one of the rooms.

So I want to start off on a nice note, this hotel ...

So I want to start off on a nice note, this hotel has a very nice staff and are very friendly. The hotel is beautiful and very nicely set up (location is perfect too). They only have valet parking (at a ridiculous $50/night) and it isn t very quick to get your car either. We had a lovely 1 night stay there and went to check out and was not provided a bill (due to the fact that the cleaning services still need to report back on the room status) and they sent us on our way. We ensured to not take any items (drinks from the fridge and candy/snacks from the cabinet cause of the huge markup and we brought our own snacks... not to mention we re only staying one night). Well we got the bill back and they charged us for 3 snack items at $7, $7 & $8... totaling $22+ tax on thing we didnt take. Its a shame that they charged us so very petty like to make a few extra bucks... will not be staying here again.

We stayed here one weekend just to explore our city and had a lovely time. The decorating is so fun to look at and explore. Our room was large, comfortable, clean and had all the amenities you could want. Ordered room service late in the evening and it arrived quickly. Hotel connects to the Red Owl Tavern where breakfast is served each morning. Within walking distance of all the historical attractions that make Philadelphia such a special city. Horse and carriage rides are right outside the entrance. Staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. We will definitely be booking again for another weekend getaway.

A beautiful, fun, and just a little quirky (design wise) hotel. The staff were even more fantastic than the hotel, remembering my name and using it when I came down to the front desk after check in. Very friendly staff. Super clean rooms. Excellent little touches.

The location is wonderful and close to many things in old city Philadelphia. Security is also excellent. But other than that I cannot forgive and forget the rest. We had sticky floors, no fridge, microwave , coffee maker. Only 2 pillows per bed, uncomfortable and very squeaky beds. There is a bar upstairs, that is supposed to close at 8, but the doors were locked a little after 7. The room was pretty, but the extra fee for a view is for a window in the corner blocked mostly by a dresser. No parking is available. Must park in another garage on next block over for a large fee. Hotel is not well marked, we drove by several times before we saw it. Sidewalk outside is taped off all around motel, so must walk in street. Overall, not impressed.

First time at this Kimpton location and it certainly didn't disappoint. A quick friendly check in, we were given an upgraded room on the ninth floor overlooking Independence Hall and Park. The room was quite big with fun and unique decor, along with an extremely comfortable bed! The large bathroom had a walk in shower. Plenty of plugs for our various devices is always appreciated! I asked if guest services could help me with a forgotten item, and was pleasantly surprised to have a staff member deliver it within minutes. Each staff member seemed anxious to make our stay a comfortable one. We enjoyed a very good breakfast in the Red Owl Tavern and hope to return again soon. Can't beat the customer service and the best locale for Philadelphia visitors. Even though our visit was a short one, it made us determined to return to Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia very, very soon!

Average. I know that Covid has made it difficult to conduct business but it also provides opportunities to get creative. No valet, no access to lobby, no turn down service; all impacted by Covid. Also no attempt to create a guest experience. Staff was scraping by and wasnt interesting in interacting. Rooms are nothing spectacular. For the money, look elsewhere. Parking is a pain.

Hotel Monaco!

Hotel Monaco!

Justin and I wanted to thank you all and the staff at Hotel Monaco from the bottom of our hearts! We truly couldn t have felt more at home and more loved than we did from each of the employees. From Rashid who made me a beautiful welcome basket with thoughtful treats that helped calm my nerves when the zipper of my wedding dress broke. To Amber, Connor and Desiree who have worked around the clock to help make sure our guests as well as our families were taken care of. To the door attendants who helped us carry countless bags up to our rooms and even remembered the small details of our days and would talk to us like family! ( they even looked high and low for pliers to fix my zipper ) To the front desk and the housekeeping who helped a bridesmaid find a room last minute to helping transform my suite into a bride s glam station! (And even gave us every sewing kit possible so we could sew me into a dress) We truly couldn t say thank you enough! We are so glad we get to share our day with you once again in June! We will always remember how you all went above and beyond and made our wedding day so memorable!

Love always

This place has an amazing location. We spent three days/two nights and never needed our car once. You have history, museums, great food, and bars all within steps. Visually I love the hotel and it's rooms. Historic, unique, and fun. The staff was very attentive and quick to resolve any concerns. But the negative is that this hotel and especially the room are showing their age. Wear and tear, damaged surfaces, and little annoyances. I am sure this place was amazing when it was new. If you want to be in the center of Philly history this is the place to be. But not sure it was worth the price.

The room was small. Check-in was delayed. We had to complain before they gave us a room at 4pm. (Check in is supposed to be at 3pm). We had to pay extra for parking. (It is the city I guess) The location is good.

So I woke up on a Friday morning and I get this story from my sister that is rooming with the other sister. She had the most delusional wake up call from her older sister in the room. To set the story straight the older sister was still awake already because, she couldn't sleep due to neck surgery and a constant neck brace she had to wear. The wake up story was when the older sister shook her awake and said: "if she had to pee that she should only walk on the yoga mat. " In her delusional state she had no idea what she was saying and could only think of the really old kids games when they were playing step on all the obstacles to avoid the imaginary lava. However, the end if that wake up call finished with "there is nail polish everywhere." Long story short the older sister got burnt by the sink water and pulled her hand away from the facet in the bathroom quickly enough that she knocked off a glass bottle of nail polish that shattered as it hit the ground. The floor and many other surfaces were covered in a darker nail polish color. Needless to say the staff was helpful and understanding and helped clean up this landmine of glass and polish with no extra charge. They did a great job at cleaning up the evidence but at least the story still resides.

Pretty nice place. My room was cramped but clean and stylish. The showers spray water all over the place which felt like a very questionable decision, particularly because they have wallpaper which gets sprayed and of course that is going to fall off. Also annoying to have water all over the floor. Shower issue is pretty minor though. The staff is great! Overall a nice place.

This place is right downtown, affordable, and has 360 degree historical monuments and buildings. I wish we had more time here. The Owl Tavern has exceptionally good food, made by chef's, and our server Catherine was wonderful and down to earth! The Hotel staff are super friendly and helpful in any way.

Great stay and if you have any issues ask for Nena the front desk manager, she was very kind and helpful, willing to go the extra miles which is rare in humanity today, while the other two girls at the desk whispered about my reservation she acted professionally. Thank you I know you have a bright future with this hotel and beyond.
Akeem at Valet took great care of our vehicle with a huge smile.

By far the most incredible experience our family had. Staff was beyond kind, food was amazing. The front desk even gave our 15 month old a gold fish to watch for the night. The rooms are gorgeous, and comfortable with plenty of room and beautiful views. The staff is what really made the stay worth while, they were very accommodating

Eclectic design, good service, comfortable amenities. Penthouse suite features vaulted ceilings, separate dining room, a large bedroom and two bathrooms. The hotel is an enjoyable venue for a celebration with multiple overnight visitors. Iconic experiences from mid-range to high-end. Unique rooftop lounge and bar for daytime and evening photos and events. Notable restaurant and bar on ground level. Conveniently located in Old City a half block from Independence Hall. Many nearby restaurants and points of interest.

Pros:
Exceptional location
Multiple dining options
Good for large groups
Caters to a range of budgets ($150+ per night)

This hotel did not live up to our expectations. Not as child friendly as we would have liked. No microwave and the fridge was full of products for purchase leaving no space for items. Closet space was very limited. There was no coffee machine. It was ridiculous that a card was needed to use elevator to go to room. It was virtually impossible to work elevator while I had my kids, stroller and bags. The hallways smelled of mildew. And lastly the "toy chest" was nothing spectacular. There are ice machines on every other floor. Even the decor was not appealing. Will not return. Do not recommend this hotel for families.
