A unique and truly still original hotel from ancient times. I was so original, you can see in the toilet of visitors (who are not in the room) really using really old school tools. I got goosebumps when I was alone, because I became curious about horror films with this old school background. But indeed there must be a cultural asset like this that also can still make money. Overall, the hotel is comfortable and fresh. Food is also recommended.

the hotel is really good, like it feels like it is in the palace. the atmosphere is good the food and dinner are delicious. the place is too big. moreover the hall is great for seminars, dinner gala or whatever. really recommended to be able to find a place for reunion, seminar or whatever. good and quality.

The historical hotel, founded in 1910, still preserved nicely and like the original state. The garden is beautiful with water fountains. The room is large, the bathroom is also large with separate shower and bathtub. The decor is colonial style with some modern touches. The bed is comfortable and large as well. The staffs are courteous and helpful. The downside is breakfast, which is quite OK but the choice is limited. Overall a very good choice for staying in central Surabaya, as long as you don t mind a bit of history.

All the 3-leg plugs, just like abroad. Extra bed smell musty blankets, curtains smell of stale, somewhat clogged shower drain in jd kalo water bath could be overflowing and flooding, in the bathroom there was no doormat. Kacauuuh

If you re wandering fun thing to do in Surabaya, please I recommend you to have an afternoon tea at Hotel Majapahit!!

This hotel was built since 1910, so that s why the architecture, the furniture, and even if you re able to stay here the room vibes is so vintage. Every single tiny details that this hotel gives you make you feel like you re back to the past. Aah and it feels so nice. Especially the garden, it s so beautiful!

Beside that this hotel also so historical. It s the place where the young Indonesian revolutionaries tear off the blue part of the Dutch flag to became Indonesian flag. The name of the hotel was Hotel Yamato.

To have an afternoon tea you have to spend like 200k rupiah/set, but you can check deal java surabaya website first because they often offering promotion.

Despite of all horror stories about this hotel, I don t give a single care. I really hope I could stay at this hotel in future if I had chance to come to Surabaya again.

This hotel is historical, back in the days of World War 2 was called Yamato Hotel when Indonesia occupied by Japan, and Hotel Oranje when Indonesia occupied by Netherland. The hotel always in good shape, taken care perfectly. Staff are nice and welcoming, top notch service. Room are clean with the iconic dutch garden view. Food also good, especially for their oriental chinese food
