Hotel Madurai Residency Review

the single Star is only for the restaurant of this Hotel- everything is good but Service in the restaurant is pathetic.

Otherwise Hotel is good

Decent hotel at Madurai. Good security staff. The hotel is neat and close to Madurai meenaskhi temple

I have visited so many places in Tamilnadu and stayed in many hotel. I've never came across a worst hotel like Madurai Residency. The reception staff were looking like a local gangster. They don't have come sense and they don't know how to behave and response to their customer. Their staff behavior was horrible , their response for your questions will be pathetic. Don't ever go to this hotel if you would like to have a peaceful vacation.

We have booked this hotel before 2 days we reach madurai . they also had confirmed us about our booking in email. But once we go their with all our luggage's, they denied to provide us room. We tried to show the print out the email confirmation and also our original proof but they don't even bother to take a look on it. They have not answered our questions properly and also they didn't even bother about giving us an answer for the same. After a long argument with them their manager called and his answers were even more worst .
When we told that we will take this to local police they are answering like they can handle to police with their money. their cheap response was not tolerable and their rude behavior sucks.
After having the horrible argument we came out of the hotel looking for some other hotels.
While we were inside the hotels, we have noticed many local people fighting with staff and making hell lot of noise . They seems like drunken people.
If you plan for family visit please don't choose this worst hotel. There are so many good hotel in Madurai with good behavior staffs.

WE STRONGLY DIS RECOMMEND this shitty hotel for anyone who is planning to visit Madurai.

Very costly.
Good only for business class person.
Don't allow to take out tea during breakfast.

Hotel looks good, but the price is too high for the simple standard room. There is no good service and it is just to stay at night and pack your bag.

I dont want rate high and even low, because i dont see any factor for satisfaction.

+ Near to railway station and temple walkable distance
+ Center of shopping zone, atm etc.,

- No good service
- room size is very small
- housekeeping is not satisfactory
- checked into hotel by 9pm and got the extra bed at 11:40pm.. after calling frony desk 3 times and went in person argued with them

- no refilling of water/bottle
- porter/housekeeping/security guys expects tips for not doing anything, even we ask for.

Overall dont expect much... Better find some better hotel to stay.

Excellence condition , comfortable beds and well maintain.

Facilities provided are good but room size is bit small.

A pretty good hotel to stay in Madurai near railway station

Stay has been comfortable. Location is great. Restaurant fell short of expectations. Staff at restaurant luckworm in welcoming guests.

I stayed there from Dec 08 - Dec 10, 2018. The assigned room states "standard double room". But they provided a single room size with a double bed. Only one chair and a small table there. Bathroom outside the bedroom and is open ventilation. As a result, mosquito comes inside when use bathroom. Actually they never maintained any standard. In the restaurant, all items like, meat or fish or vegetable contains not more then 10 grams but price is more then 200 rupees. To eat, one person, it needs more then 1000 rupees. In the menu, one appetizer comes with fish fry number 1. Price is 170 rupees. What does it mean? When ordered, it comes with one slice of fish contains 5 grams weight. Actually, they want money only.

I stayed here on a couple of trips when I visited Madurai..It was always been a pleasant place to stay except on two occasion whereby on the first incident I was double dipped n cheated on my bills when I used my credit card subsequently the staff overcharged me of Rs10,000/- which I found out after I got home n when my statement arrived from bank.The matter was reported to the hotel but no action was taken.So beware when u use your foreign credit card here.
On the second occasion the reception staff was very rude due to lack of experience and respect for paying guest.The matter could have been explained in a very professional manner instead of being arrogant. Again this matter was brought to the attention of the management and promptly offered an apology but did not report what action was taken. Other then these two bad incidents I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madurai.

Whenever I visit Madurai, I prefer Madurai Residency only. Their service is very good and serves best food. On weekends they have non veg buffet lunch at Rs.499/net and Veg buffet lunch at Rs.399/-.

Good accommodation with nice food. Fast and courteous service.

A grand place at the central of Madurai. Came as a guest for a wedding and took a suite room. Have to say in my short stay we had a good time. The interiors are great and ambience is lovely. What I didn't like was the traffic noise which is always present as it's on the main road. Apart from that it was a pleasant experience.

Room too small for the price. Good location and breakfast was good. Only drawback rooms being too small.

Feel more like home. They are always best at their hospitality and food. Service is prompt and rooms are very spacious, neat and clean. Every staff is very polite and oblige to customer's request. Worth every penny.

Location is a Plus but the friendliness and hospitality are literally poor and much below average.

The reception staff and gaurd are good but all expect them are pathetic. Room Service, Restaurant and House Keeping staff are really bad and rude. They don't know how to treat guests and families with little kids. They lack the warmth and hospitality. They make faces if you ask for something. Give unpleasant remarks and show attitude to the guests. They have very rude and impolite tone. No idea how to talk to women and kids. They are pathetic.

Not recommended for Family stays.

The hotel has excellent location. You can shop, eat and roam around and will get lot of options. Walkable distance from railway station. Most of old and famous food shops are at walkable distance. Temple is 8 minutes walk from hotel. I stayed here for second time but this time service are not at the par. Stained bed sheets were given, water came after 40 minutes of ordering. Room size is small. Toileteris are of low standard. It is overpriced hotel with average room service.

Located in the heart of the city. Clean rooms costlier to its size of rooms. Food taste n quality good. Pretty costlier

Good food and great view at the heart of the city. As the roof top restaurant doubles as bar, lookout before you bring the kids.

Don't mind the stat since I haven't been inside, but the parking is a real sh_ _ . Can't take our vehicle out since its a two line one in front of other parking and is a cellar one along with a slight curve. We need to park in reverse too. Though I am good at driving, I won't suggest it. Also if we need to take the car may be a few cars have to be taken out and you need to wait till that is done.

Ok...Little decent Hotel. Need to improve lot. Hot water...Door lock issues... are some.
