They treated us wonderfully, notifying the restaurant that we had reservations at that it was our anniversary, and while we were out eating dinner, rose petaled the room for us. The room was clean, the bed was very nice, and the bathroom was very clean.

Came here with a group of 15 and the service was impeccable. We were attended to by at least two members of the staff throughout the 3.5 hour meal. The food was delicious. Most of us had the lamb - their signature dish - and it was amazing. Will definitely come back another time.

The hotel has an old style with clean modern touches. You are able to make requests from the room using a tablet. There are nice amenities available and it is very comfortable. Staff is nice and accommodating.

I have stayed here several times when in Los Gatos. In early 2011 they changed management and on my most recent trip in August the change was clearly evident. Perhaps the best description is that the place is fraying around the edges and the amenities you would expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel are no longer provided. In addition, parking has always been a problem here and now it is worse than ever when their restaurant Dio Deka is open. Frankly I think the next time I'm in town I'll try the other place around the corner.

The staff were very welcoming and made my stay with my wife on our anniversary very special. The room was quiet and comfortable. My wife and I enjoyed the short walk to downtown Los Gatos for food and fun. I would recommend this place and plan on visiting again. Thank you, Hotel Los Gatos!

We have been staying here for years. It needs updating and better service and amenities. It s Christmas morning and they have the same old crappy froot loops and horrible pastries from a box. It s really a shame as they could make this place really special. They could have hot chocolate and fresh fruit and put cups out for the coffee. They market as a luxury hotel but it s really not. And the service is really bad.

Very nice place to stay close to everything in Los Gatos. Very nice bar and resturant on site and to many little shops and bistros to list with in walking distance (1 to 2 miles on average). My family and I really enjoyed our stay here.

Los Gatos is my home town and I really wanted to love this hotel. It is a lovely place. Though the value for price really isn't there. Everything from the confusing bellperson service, to room service, and food.

Its really not anyone's fault that works there though. Very lovely people and they want to do a great job. The problem seems from how the property is managed. Because they really don't have a proper hotel kitchen, and they lack all the needed roles of hotel staff, they have the bellpeople running around doing everything that multiple people should be doing in a hotel that costs north of $350/night to stay in.

When we arrived there was only one bellperson there and he was completely stuck helping this other couple. We stood there for over 10 minutes before we gave up and just carried all our stuff in and started checking in. I don't mind carrying my own stuff at all, though this was one of those days I could have really used the help.

Ordering a snack and some bubbly at the pool felt very dis-functional. We had to walk all the way to the front desk, order on a little ipad, and then wait over an hour to get what we ordered back at the pool. By the way, we ordered pita bread with taziki sauce and a bottle of bubbly. When the person came to deliver it he was very friendly and good smile, though the order came wrong and we just gave up and didn't have him fix it (we couldn't stand waiting another hour).

The only kitchen onsite is the restaurant that is next door (sort of part of the hotel), though its not open until 5:30pm. So you can really feel the struggle from the staff if you try to order room-service to the pool or your room (or anything else).

Breakfast was included in the stay but it was awful. This was probably the most off putting part of the whole stay. The idea of breakfast was literally a few bins of cereal and a couple of danishes. Not even a piece of toast or a bagel was available. All the hotel guests were frustrated and confused about breakfast (I think we were all shocked really, especially the class of hotel this is supposed to be). There was this point that there wasn't even bowls left that were clean and I saw a family, by accident, almost try to use already used bowls before they realized there were dirty.

In the end, we were happy to leave. This is not the usual feeling we have when on holiday for a little couple time and mini vacation. Most often when its time to leave a hotel, we want to stay as long as we can (even late check out). We were out of there by 8:30am.

This could be a really great hotel. Here is what I suggest: More hotel staff. Have a hotel kitchen that is operational during most hours. Get the room service/pool service to be excellent (this is important to many people). Make sure there is a quality breakfast so that you send your guests home happy.

I'd classify the hotel as a boutique getaway. All staff were friendly and amenities were clean. I was recently invited to dinner at Dio Deka one chilly December evening and was impressed by the quality of the food, knowledgeable staff, and the classy ambience. Try the Branzino, Lamb Osso Bucco, and definitely order the perfectly grilled octopus. As for drinks, I chose a Rye Manhattan.

I did not enjoy my stay here...

The room felt old and not very homey. The complimentary breakfast was just some fruits, cupcakes and cereal. The hotel room has no toaster or microwave. The pool is way to small to actually swim in. The main lobby does not have all day coffee or tea. The on site restaurant is overpriced.

The staff did their best effort to help me out (I.e. bring ear plugs to my room went I said that the neighbors next door have a crying baby), but the hotel is way too expensive for what you get...

Very close to downtown. Love all the Mediterranean decor! A little bummed all the massages were booked, but our booking was last minute anyway. Did not try the food. Complimentary valet!

HGL is one of the nicest hotels I ve ever stayed in. I ve spent probably 20+ nights in the hotel over the last 4 months.

The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are nice.

Access to the gym across the street is a major plus.

The beds are terrible. For whatever reason, I cannot get a full nights sleep. Every mattress I ve had has been uneven with sunken in spots (at least it feels that way). And the pillows are WAY to big for someone with a preference for thinner pillows as a side sleeper. I sleep better at the Garden Inn than I do here. And the Garden Inn is a real POS compared to this place.

The breakfast is also a waste of time. Costco muffins, cereal, yogurt, and bananas with a major lack of areas to put down your plate. The Best Western up the street has a full on buffet that is 10x better than your a average continental breakfast and 100x better than HLG.

The staff at HLG are second to none, though. They are extremely accommodating and friendly and really make HLG feel upscale compared to any other hotel in town (Tollhouse is good too).

Gorgeous hotel, with great service and quality rooms. However, when a cockroach woke my wife at 3am, the management only compensated by dropping a few minor charges and a 10% discount. Wasn't looking for a free room, but a bit more of an apology for us not getting any sleep after that would have gone a long way.
