Very nice five star. The decor is very classic in style, but all new, because recently renovated, and very clean. The best we liked the bar (absolutely cool and with fumoir!), The beautiful terrace and the two restaurants. Our favorite is clearly the restaurant "Pomme Cannelle". Great food and service - one of the best in Luxembourg City. Price-performance absolutely top. Place to eat! - The hotel is only a stone's throw away from the center and the pedestrian area, just across the street and 200 meters on foot. Very attentive porter - good shuttle options and minis are available. - The spa is rather small, but nice. So worth a visit.

I have been staying at Le Royal regularly since August 2018, and have seen a steady and severe decline in service. The concierge team in particular are curt, churlish, and unhelpful.

The location is ideal for business or leisure trips, and the facilities remain of an above average standard, but do not expect 5 star hospitality. You will constantly be disturbed by staff who do not wait for a reply after knocking -they simply enter the room regardless of your state of dress or undress. The concierge team in particular are curt, churlish, and unhelpful. Examples include: refusing to provide an umbrella on a rainy day; refusing to deliver food to the room and instead making a guest come into the lobby in their bath robe; and refusing to arrange taxi cabs.

Of course the poor behaviour of some of the concierge team is not indicative of the service of all staff, but it is enough to sour your experience. If you must come to Luxembourg, I can no longer recommend staying at Le Royal.

With friendly, helpful, and considerate receptionists and staff members, the Royal is a perfectly located luxury hotel in Luxembourg s city centre.

The hotel includes a pool, sauna, and steam room that add relaxation to the welcoming environment. A kettle is available inside the room if requested at the reception.

The transfer service to the airport was thankful. The staff were all friendly and I felt very good. The room is also clean and the electric system is very high-tech with touch panel. As cleaning had also begun at 8:00, please don't forget the panel of don't disturb when you have breakfast.
However, it is a pity that it takes time to store hot water in the bathtub because the floor cleaning of the bathroom is a little sweet and the appearance of the callan is weak.

I have been coming spontaneously for years, but today I was disappointed when I was told that I have to pay 12 for parking after consuming.

As a frequent traveler didn t find any big brand hotel online so asked Amex platinum concierge to book a hotel for me.

I have made the complain about this to Amex but also need to warn people on the internet lol.

Location and the hardware in the hotel is close to 5 star. But the services is way below 5 star:

In room breakfast is not what I ordered
Slow room services, asked to make up the bed room for a whole day and didn t do it properly (now I m in the waiting outside my room for them to make up the bed, after called the room service and front desk for the 2nd time).

Whenever I come to Luxembourg for business, this is the only hotel for me. This time around I stayed in their privilege rooms which was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. Multiple pillows and complimentary fruit and drinks. I was running late one morning and was sure I would have to miss breakfast. I called room service and after telling them about my predicament, they sent coffee and omelette in 5 minutes. True luxury. Couldn't have asked for more.

You cannot give a bad rating to this hotel which is undoubtedly an upscale property.
The staff are very attentive and we particularly appreciated the professionalism of the bartender.
The buffet breakfast is very varied and the products very fresh. The only downside is the coffee !!!! You can't call it coffee ...
However I give only 4 stars for the unpleasant noise Sunday morning during the whole breakfast caused by a thermal vacuum cleaner (gasoline smell) passed right under our feet by a member of the staff!

I did the right thing buy trying to speak to the hotel directly about my problem vs leaving a review but just got a very automatic reply. As the only '5-star' hotel in town I guess they have the privlidge of not really having to care as clients have no choice. My concerns were -
When I entered my room it was note made up all the drawers were open, the silver shower drain was pulled out and rubbish bin not put where it was supposed to. I had to put the room back together. As a five-star hotel they should be checking the rooms are ready for guests before you allow them to enter.
The Toto toilet was broken. Everytime I used it blew air on me and no other function was available. This was uncomfortable.
I came to the hotel because of the spa area the last hotel I was at had a broken spa area. The situation here is that day one in the afternoon the spa was fine. I then went back in the evening to use it to be told it closed at 9pm which is very early time for a spa to close. I went back in the morning circa 9am and the steam room wasn t on and the cold water plunge bath had no water in it so I could not use this. There is also mould at the bottom of the shower curtains in the sauna area.
In the morning I went to go for a walk and on leaving the front door I saw it was raining, I asked the doorman for an umbrella and he told me to go to my room and get it. Yes, I did address him on this and he gave me one in the end but this was not a good service experience.
I phoned in the evening to report my concerns to the duty manager and there was no duty manager working! Which is concerning as most of the staff are in the F&B areas is made up of apprentices. While the apprentices were great were they really left in a 5-star hotel with no manager? The manager also never called me back in the morning, it wasnt until later in the afternoon.

Pros - location, the bar is nice and I like the room decor.
