Hotel H10 Ocean Maya y Coral Review

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing! I was actually scared to come to Mexico because it was my first time and some of the things that happened but I never felt so safe on a vacation. The resort itself was far from the security gate and there were multiple security guys on the way to the resort. Any time you leave the resort, the people in the front keep track of where you're going, who your drivers is and what time you are expected back. I think the best part of the trip was the people that worked there, they were so kind and helpful and treated us like kings and queens - we wanted to tip everyone! The room itself was really nice and was cleaned everyday. This is just me being picky but I wished there was a full length mirror installed in the room. There are multiple restaurants you can choose from in the resort - the buffet, asian fusion and an american-ish style. We tried all of them and we honestly preferred the buffet more as it gave us more options. The food isn't anything spectacular but it was good to keep us satisfied and is what you expect from buffet style food. We also did a full body massage and facial and it was great, I had Lupe and she was so sweet and really took care of me. This resort changed my view on visiting Mexico and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

Staff are lovely. Naomi, Selza, Arturoo, Ines and Rodrigo were all really friendly and helpful.

In this beautiful place you can see deer badgers and an immense variety of species, it is a highly recommended paradise.

The hotel was nice, and the entertainment staff were fun and friendly. However, the breakfast service/lunch service could've been better.

Perfect destination for people who wants to relax at the beach, have fun next to the pool, play volleyball or do some aquagym, and be entertained by the wonderful staff, especially by Rodrigo and Arturo!

Incredible sensations, distinguished services so that the stay is not forgotten. Food, snacks, exotic drinks that your mind and body thanks you all the time. With special places that make your dreams come true. The first service will not let your environment fall apart. If you arrive keep in mind in making reservations in the special restaurants or first quality. Finally the programmed activities will distract you and will make your stress and fatigue vanish forever. If you enjoy it, it will be your only option

Great resort! I loved the choice of activities to do in the day and the entertainment staff were absolutely great especially Rodrigo and Arturo! The resort itself was really pretty and there are so many opportunities for day trips!

I can only give this resort one star right now. I got here today and so far I m so disappointed. Hot tub in my room won t get hot. Buffet for lunch by pool wasn t great. Sales pitch after we got our room key !! Water at beach was disgusting i rather go back to NJ. I have 5 more days here and wish I could cancel and go to another resort. :( So sad especially when my husband and I are celebrating our 35 anniversary

We are from Campeche and we went to the hotel on the weekend of September 15, my family and I really wanted to return because the service is excellent. All the time all the staff is greeting with a smile and they make you feel at home, our favorite restaurant was the Yokosso, everyone is extremely friendly. The animation makes you fun all the time, everyone is really cool Selsa Arturo Ines in their games are quite fun. The guys at the bar that are in the pool even if they are well occupied were always very friendly. Five stars and more to the hotel because I exceed our expectations to the fullest

This was my 1st time visiting Mexico, and sure there are quite of few choices of resorts to stay at, but I would HIGHLY recommend staying at OCEAN MAYA ROYALE. GREAT FOOD, CLEAN rooms and VERY Friendly staff like The Mexican Beyonce Selza and Ines make it a 10 STAR vacation. I look forward to revisiting them again in the near future!

I can't consider this resort a 5 star resort, I feel like Ocean Maya Royale is more like an all-inclusive version of a regular hotel.
Every where you go on the property, someone is trying to sell you something. In the Lobby, the Time Share people flock to you no matter how many times you politely decline attending their presentation and they even called our room. The restaurants want you to upgrade your drinks and meals. The bartenders want to to sell the "premium" packages for mid-range liquor. On the beach and by the pool, vendors were trying to sell Coco Bongo tickets, sunglasses, hats, among other things. Also, be sure to bring small bills because every one on the property expects tips.
The rooms are ok. There is a very strong musty/moldy scent in the bed area, and an extremely strong vinegar scent in the bathroom, no matter how many times we shower or flush the toilet. The door to the bathroom is clear and frosted glass, and doesn't really close to give privacy. There is no full length mirror in the room. The AC was not working the duration of our stay, and even though we asked the front desk to send maintenance for a repair, no one ever came.
We spent $450+USD in the spa for a couple's massage and pedicure, and the experience was far from relaxing. Most everyone was bustling around, making lots of noise, and using lemon scented PineSol to clean everything while we were there, and the scent was very strong. During our massage, there were repair men on the roof hammering the entire service. The massage itself was relaxing, and we both enjoyed that part of our experience. We paid for an 80 minute massage and received about 55 minutes, and paid for a 60 minute spa pedicure and received about 40 minutes. We left feeling more disappointed than relaxed.

We did like that this property served DosXX as their beer. The 5 restaurants had hit or miss servers; the servers in the Italian and Romantic restaurants were great, but the servers at the buffets were not attentive at all. On sunny days, the beach and pool areas were beautiful, but did not have enough chairs and people would use towels to reserve the chair all day, even if they were sitting at the swim up bar or playing games in the pool. I would advise to leave everything possible in the room, because there really is no where to put it by the pool or beach.
My husband and I both felt as though this property was inexpensive at the start, but after all we ended up paying, would recommend staying elsewhere to experience less hassle.

Food was terrible. As soon as we checked in we were hit with salesman. Couldn't even get to your room first.

During our stay at the hotel we enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, always clean and the attitude of the staff very good. The beach area is clean as are the gardens.

Good option for couples, since it is only adults, Ines of very attentive animation, I recommend in Japanese restaurant and tepanyaki show

Excellent service and attention from arrival, the staff was on hand to cover all needs. It has two pools, one for activities and games and one for just swimming. The food is very tasty, the cocktails too. I would return to this place without hesitation.

I will celebrate together with my husband, my birthday no.62, which is October 12, and until now what I have seen is very nice, and the good comments I read encourage me more to know the hotel!

It is very well located, near Playa del Carmen, the taxi at an affordable price to go to Playa del Carmen. The beach is not very nice, the food could be better (however the Italian restaurant is excellent), the drinks are very good. Every night there is an event with a different theme, however the people were very subdued, it goes a lot and it is difficult to find another Mexican in that hotel, otherwise I have a good time.

Had an amazing time last week. The place was beautiful the food was great and the drinks were flowing. They have a lot of events throughout the day, and there's so much to do. Just the staff alone makes me want to go back as soon as possible. I went with a group of 10 people but even if I went alone the staff would have made me feel right at home. Marena was my favorite and I miss her already! Atturo (big sexy) AKA my twin and Rodrigo were also awesome. I would highly recommend this resort, and I will definitely be back for sure, that's if they're ready for me

First of all I am here right now, typing this as a warning to all that not only come to this resort but to any of the resorts where you land in Cancun. As soon as you go through customs you will be railroaded to a "Travel Consultant" which is code for "Membership Roper"! Stay away and keep on walking as they just want to promise to bring you to Cancun and convince you to buy some kind of "membership" to RCI or World Pass or whatever resort they work at.
Then, once you get to the Ocean Maya Royale they even have them there! Be careful because they will first tell you they are your resort consultant and they tell you that you have come to a "Meeting" about the resort. Do not mention anything about getting the Privilege program. If you do you will be approached by "Membership" sellers. Privilege membership is by people who bought into a membership with RCI, H10 and World Pass. Not that there is anything wrong with that, if you want to go to an hour and a half presentation and "special breakfast" which was at the same buffet that we would have eaten at anyways.

So far though the resort is beautiful and the food,staff,and rooms are great. Just stay away from the "Membership" stuff and enjoy what the reort has to offer.

We love OMR. We've been three times. We've also been to Secrets resorts three times. They are amazing too, but each time we compare to OMR and decide to return to OMR.

The beach is a bit reduced and the menu after several days can be repetitive.

The accommodations, food and the entertainment staff was awesome especially Sexy Papi and Marena great job by all would definitely come back for a third time

I have been to many hotels in Cancun and Riviera Maya. I can say that Ocean Maya is one of the best hotels I've been to. My girlfriend and I have had an incredible time, we owe it a lot to the animation team that is always with activities and games so that nobody gets bored. Rodrigo and Arturo are the funniest. We hope to return soon!

Everything about this trip was amazing. This was a trip for my daughter and I. From the moment we stepped into the hotels entrance and was greeted by Daphne everything from that point on was first class services and accommodations. We stayed in a privileged suite and everyone went above and beyond their call of duty of course Daphne with her amazing customer service skills. Then their was Adrian who made our stay amazing. Javier was so entertaining we will definitely be going back. Great services above and beyond!!!

Had one of the best times of my life here! First night, wild deer outside our room (with spotted fawns! so cute). Ate at all the restaurants, Blue Moon might be the best; however, the sushi restaurant on site had an amazing talented chef. Watch your food, coatis are everywhere! We rented Jet Skis, bubble party at the poolside bar, just a great place to vacation for couples! Not much for kids, great for adults.

We have stayed in this hotel 6 times now and each time it gets better. The food has improved a lot over the years and the rooms are very comfortable and always clean and tidy. The hotel staff are always friendly and helpful. We plan on coming again next year.

We came here as a group of nine for 4 nights and had a great time! We really enjoyed the different activities put on by the resort and spent most of our time talking with everyone down at the beachfront. Shoutout to Marena and Arturo who made our trip even better and were super fun to hang out with!

this hotel has many distractions in any area to visit from the guest service guys, even in restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is worth mentioning two girls in particular one in the front desk area Dafne a very friendly and smiling girl, always attentive to our needs, and the manager of duty manager supported us a lot in question of the stay always with that smile and the same That spark that characterizes her would undoubtedly return to this hotel thanks ocean royal for such an excellent vacation

Love this place. Been there twice and would go back again. Food is good and you will have plenty of food options. Views are great and rooms are really nice. Most of the staff are great, except for those who do not like to serve you unless you tip them really well. Don't that stop you from going there, most of the staff are amazing. Plenty to do and I recommend renting a car from the resort and venturing out.

This resort was an PHENOMENAL experience. This was my first time in Mexico and because of the service and hospitality I received at the Ocean Maya Royale I will definitely be visiting annually. The food was authentic and fresh. The rooms were clean and spacious. The resort is so clean and maintained beautifully. The staff... THE STAFF was the best part of the experience. They make the atmosphere so welcoming and comfortable. Everyone greets you and makes you feel like family. Plus, the drinks are unlimited NEVER watered down
The absolute BEST part of the Ocean Maya Royale is the entertainment team. Ines, Maria, Sexy Papi (Arturo), Rodrigo, and everyone else KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK! You all really made my vacation the best it could be and I am forever grateful! From karaoke, beach volleyball, morning stretching, and the infamous foam party, you all make sure it s something to do and with each activity you all had the energy to match!!!!
Make sure when booking excursions, check the ticket they give you because sometimes you could be paying for half of an activity.

You have to pay extra money for scuba diving, speedboat, and others. Only underground river floating is included, which is a fun. The last show at 20:15 is not worth it as most of the audience don't know anything about the Mayan history.

No complaints, choose the date to avoid the invasion of American students and hot weather. Early February seemed ideal.

The hotel area is very well maintained, also the rooms. The sea is not usable due to brown algae. Too bad that this information was not forwarded, since obviously this problem already exists for 3 years. So Caribbean vacation in the pool and you fly 10,000 km.

Both Rodrigo and Marena were amazing hosts. So friendly and entertaining! Really made the trip super enjoyable!

Like any other all inclusive resort, the food is not that great and is not much diversity. The outside area of the hotel is well looked after but the rooms not that much. Our bedroom was smelly and we didn't had a bathtub. As we found out later, none of the rooms had bathtub (not sure about privilege). Didn't look like a 5* hotel at all. The staff: most of them were lovely especially the entertainment team but some of them were just ignoring us. I could see that they are going extra mile for american people because they tip for every step. Is not the case with us, we tip if the service is from good to outstanding not for staff ignoring us. Staff were rude at times and the jokes were inappropriate. However, we had fun even with all the above, but for a 5* hotel I was expecting better.

Room clean and very nice, various restaurants with varied choices and generally very good.

Entertainment team are great, always in a good mood. Rodrigo and Arturo are amazing, they made me laugh a lot and are very friendly.

Went in January and would definitely go back again, staff, food, facilities, and entertainment was excellent and service was first rate. It is a smaller more intimate resort with great gardens and animal life. Loved it.

Pesino service in tepanyaki restaurant. Apparently it has a lack of personnel, in general it is not the service that pays. Neglected, old facilities, almost or has a beach and the one you have is not very pretty. The vegetation and very nice wild animals, the jacuzzi of the spa and the food in general good.
