Great resort. Beautiful and both relaxing and fun. Reasonable price for the stay. Somethings could have been explained a little better. For example heard a lot of people confused how the beach towel system worked. (Which was great once it was figured out) The staff is very friendly and helpful. I wish I had known more Spanish to communicate better.

It is a very beautiful hotel for its variety of beautiful gardens and faunas. But most importantly it provides excellent service.
We arrived at the resort there were 4 of us our rooms were to be close to each other. One room was in 500 bldg and our room was in 600 bldg at check in wasn't told that the our room was up stairs and the buildings didn't have elevators.(this was our first all inclusive resort). I have fibromyalgia and I can't do a lot of stairs. My husband called the front desk and explained our situation and was told cant do anything until tomorrow and we will try to change your room. Which our room was changed the next day at 2:30 pm to the same building of my family on the bottom floor. Also when you check in Jimmy was suppose to be our person to go to with any problem or question. I didn't like the sale approach once the h10 company figured out we were not interested in buying they were very cold toward us. Promised my husband a free bottle of tequila to do the 60 minute pitch which took about 3 hours. Then it took the resort 3 days to get him his tequila. The beach was awful if your a beach person this is not for you. It smelt like sewage, the deep sea fishing excursion was a joke. The food got old the best restaurant that we enjoyed was the japaneise restaurant and if you wasn't priviledged you could only enjoy certain restaurants certain beach access. The buildings are spread out and you have a lot of walking to do back and forth to the pools and restaurants. However the golf card driver Jorge was awesome he would gladly help you any way he could. Also the spa was great ask for Day or Lupe those two were amazing for masages.
Had a great time at OMR- great food, drink, entertainment is amazing specially Selza and Ines. Drinks, food, beach, and everything was great. Mojito, margarita, beer.. all good. Can t wait to come back next year.

Unfortunately, we have experienced a lot of inconvenience; algae, work, ceaseless rain even though we were there during the rainy season. On the other hand the staff is ultra professional and welcoming. The site must surely be beautiful in this marine pollution. ALWAYS CHECK that place before deciding to leave. It is a hotel for adults only with a European atmosphere, an impeccable gardening, very good atmosphere in the pool and the service is excellent, especially the waiters and bar tenders. The Hacienda restaurant is complete and the Japanese meets. I recommend the dinners at Privilege next to the beach, a service of the best that make the night complete.

Ocean Maya Royale was an excellent resort! The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were clean, and the food was excellent. The only drawback is that there was no beach to swim at. The beach was more of a boardwalk. Other than that I have no complaints and I would definitely visit again!

My boyfriend and I (29 and 23) stayed here in Aug/Sept 2016, and we absolutely loved it. It was slower season so the resort was quiet but everyone was cheerful enough to make it a very positive experience. There are always chairs available at the beach, and the food was immaculate ! (even my boyfriend enjoyed it and he's the pickiest eater i know). The fact that it's an adult only resort made a huge difference as well, - there were no rowdy groups during our time - and many folks were on their honeymoons/anniversary. The staff was wonderful, they try their hardest to ensure that everyone is having a good time. It's a great little resort with lots of life (amazing rooms), and I would never have second thoughts coming back . The only critique I would have is to hold more dancing shows - those were fun.
The hotel is beautiful and has a lot of space. There are 2 pools, and it is located directly on the beach. There are 2 bars, 1 in the lobby and 1 between the pools. The water has a lot of seaweed at this time, but probably doesn't always. The food is good, same as every other all inclusive resort. There is some wildlife on the resort, such as iguanas, deer, and some relatives of the racoon. They are all over, and don't bother the guests, as long as you follow the rules and don't feed them. The only catch with this place is that the hotel tries to get you to buy a timeshare, and there is pressure. When we first arrived it was presented to us as a tour with breakfast and some information about the resort. When we arrived for the appointment we were then told that it was a presentation on the membership through H10. We went with the sales rep to breakfast at the buffet on the resort, and then to what was supposed to be an hour long presentation and tour of the Premium membership services and rooms. We spent almost 3 hours with the sales rep discussing payment options and having many additional perks thrown our way. We asked if we could think about it for a day, and you would have thought we asked him for a free months stay! There was a lot of pressure to buy immediately and you had to put at least 35% down payment. It sort of turned my feelings about our stay into a less positive light, but overall the stay was great. Just stay away from the timeshare tour meeting!

This review is specifically for the H10 Ocean Maya Royal resort "professional" photography department. I want to make sure that all future guests are aware of their unethical and poor business practice.
I was a guest of the resort and was approached by the photography department. We had made arrangements to set up a family photography session. I ended up purchasing the photos that were taken and planned to give the photos as a birthday present to my mother. I was given a USB drive and was told that the photos would be on the USB drive.
When I arrived back home, I found that the USB drive was empty. Zero photos found. I was unable to confirm the contents of the USB drive while in Mexico because I did not have a computer.
I ended up having to go empty handed to my mother's birthday party because I was ripped off by the Ocean Maya Royal photography department.
I tried calling to get my money back but was brushed off and was not given a refund (Employees speak LIMITED English which made things much harder). I strongly believe that I deserve a refund because I was not given the product which was promised to me.
I disputed the charge with my credit card company. This resort is very familiar with how to rip off tourist and get away from it. They did not give me any kind of receipt (now I know to NEVER trust these types of places). They knew exactly what documentation "that I signed" to cover themselves. I was denied the dispute. I ended up losing hundreds of dollars and worst of all had no birthday present for my mother.
I am writing this so other tourists are not naive when dealing with this company. They know exactly what to do in order to get your money. I would recommend staying away at all costs.

The Food is Horrible!!! And it is limited "BUFFET" the rooms are okay, pool as well and Bar nothing out of the ordinary!! Over all this hotel gets a 3 Star only the staff is friendly and housekeeping is great. My husband and I came to visit for the second time and i wish i could of stayed at The Reef Coco Beach Hotel like the first time we came and visited until next time!
Nice clean rooms. The buffet is very rich and tasty. Just the right thing for party guests ... live band, foam party, karaoke ... it doesn't get boring.
It is funny that wild animals from outside roam the facility. Iguanas and even deer can be seen here.

Our second visit to Ocean Maya Royale, we had a brilliant stay, it didn't disappoint, still great friendly service from everyone, clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful food with a great variety on offer, great cocktails, clean beaches with lots on offer from simply relaxing under shade to a refreshing work-out in the gym, water and beach sports, a great animation team, personal favourites are the animals that roam the resort, deer, iguanas, coatis, cereques, bush turkeys, flights of pelicans, gulls and pelicans diving from teh sky to catch fish, walk along to the lagoon and go snorkelling in fresh clear water, swim in the current with hundreds of feeding fish.
It is a fabulous hotel they have an animation team for the pool, great as pamela, aranza, jenny, hugo, alexis, rodrigo and as a commercial of the activities to margarita I will return to this hotel x this team. The facilities are very well maintained and the attention to the clients is great for couples and families

Great value, lots of food choices, big pool, excellent personnel, rooms are nice and cold for a good night of rest. If you book this hotel, you don't need to go out for anything else beyond extra activities. All major attractions loke Xcaret, Xelha and Tulum are close, if you need night life, Playa del Carmen is about 7 miles away. I will be back on March 2018.

Excellent all-inclusive hotel, the 5 restaurants it has are excellent, although the El Charro restaurant could improve a bit. There are 2 pools, one for water activities and a quieter one, there is a wet bar in the pool. The beach is wonderful, there are many lounge chairs and some Balinese beds. Of course, it is convenient to go early to set aside the best places. The hotel staff simply and simply provide excellent service.

I had the best time at this resort! The beach was great and there was always something to do. Rodriguez was great at making sure we all had lots of fun and made us laugh. Overall it was great. I would definitely go again.
An incredible experience. First time staying in the H10 chain and we definitely think you are coming back !! Incredible attention from all the staff, I recommend the Italian restaurant, dining overlooking the sea is wonderful. Thanks to the animation boys, especially Naomi, for being so attentive and their aquatic aerobics so funny. The magnificent night shows. Five stars. Highly recommended.

The Resort is very clean and beautiful! We were greeted by amazing staff when we first got there but found them to be very pushy with the H10 club stuff. The beach is always covered in seaweed and there is a horible smell in the air most of the time. The food was pretty good but pretty much the same every night at the buffet. Beach night was really nice with dinner and a fire show and then a beach party to end the night. There was always something to do!

The rooms are spacious and no complaints with the King size bed. I opted for a sea view and balcony.
Entertainment is provided through the day and a different show every night if you want to be occupied.
Saving the best to last. The staff were very friendly and helpful nothing appeared too much trouble. All in all just what I wanted!
Yesterday, we were in the open water aquatic marathon, in the Mayan ocean, and I want to express that it was an incredible experience, all the hotel staff is very friendly, always showing an attitude of service, the magnificent facilities, the beach It is beautiful, without any sargassum and what to say about the food, delicious, thanks to the h10 chain, joining quality sporting events and excellent organization, thanks for opening the spaces for the sport and especially swimming in its modality open water grow and keep growing ... The hotel was recommended to me, so I decided to buy a day pass to get to know it, the food of the restaurants quite rich, as well as the drinks.
What I liked the most was the atmosphere and activities that the hotel has, Arturo, Rodrigo, Naomi and Marena made a great time happen, even participating in one of their activities I congratulate you for having such a fun entertainment team!

Like many Caribbean resorts, inundated with Americans who without exception get preferential treatment. As a result they give high ratings. Just proves figures don't always tell the truth.

This resort is absolutely amazing! From the time we arrived to the drop off at the airport, the staff made us feel so welcome. They went above and beyond every day.
