We stayed for 5 nights over new year 2016/17. Overall it's a very grand hotel in a good location but the staff are all a bit miserable. The rooms come with minimal extras and everything provided by the hotel is expensive.

We got a room on the 2nd floor overlooking syntagma square, the parliament, and could see the acropolis from the window. The room was large enough and high quality. Bed was very comfortable, and bathroom very spacious. TV had very few channels in English. There are a few rubbish movies available on the TV for an extortionate 10 each. The TV has apps like YouTube but that is 12/day to use.

There is wifi - they have free low speed wifi which works well.

The cocktail bar is not worth visiting - the cocktails are nothing special and double the price of all the more interesting bars in town.

The Afternoon tea in the winter gardens was reasonably priced - but having had a lot of afternoon teas in decent hotels in London - the Greek attempt is just about ok. Limited to just one pot of tea or coffee, nice sandwiches, three scones which are all the same, no variety, and some little sweets at the top.

We didn't try breakfast for 33 per person because of the price. It's easy to find somewhere nice to go in town.

There is free access to the spa / small swimming pool with few different treatment rooms such as sauna, steam room and herbal wet rooms which all were ok. It's all in basement which is a bit dull, and can quickly get busy as its only a small area. There is a roof top pool and bar but this is only open in the summer and was closed when we visited.

Overall the hotel decor and grounds are very grand and maintained well. But the staff could do with being a bit more friendly and the hotel could provide some complimentary things to add to the experience so it doesn't feel they're are out to fleece with for every penny after you have made the room booking.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The staff was gracious and welcoming. The views of the Acropolis and the city from the rooftop bar were stunning. Make sure you grab a bite or a drink there for sunset, as the sunsets behind the Acropolis and then it is lit up at dusk. The bartenders also made a great dry gin martini which is hard to find in the mediterranean. On top of that, the spa was incredibly relaxing. I've been thinking about the Amethyst Room ever since we left!

The only negative I will say is that the gym is quite small for having a spa and the size of the hotel. It was packed every time we went.

Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The most historic hotel in the center of Athens. In addition, the coffee in the lobby is an ideal retreat from the bustle of the center. Amazing French-chef's sweet and high-afternoon tea English specifications

We would stay here again. We would not spend the extra money for the Butler floor however our room had spectacular views of the Acropolis from our balcony. The room was very nice and very comfortable.

Located in a prime location just opposit to the Parliament and Syntagma Square. It's very convenience to walk to the shopping areas, museums and the business area as well.

Hotel is very beautiful. Room is nice, clean and tidy. Staffs are attentive. I just informed them about the guest next door for a disturbance noise of TV the whole day and night. Without any expectation, we found a bottle of wine, fruits and snack as an apologize complementary and problem was solved properly .

This is the most amazing hotel . You are treated like royalty and the building decor is incredible. We were on the butler floor and were treated with Champlain on our arrival. We enjoyed the roof top pool and the 4-5 saunas in the downstairs spa. The restaurant has a Michelin star and the food is amazing. The wine list is the most impressive I have ever seen. It is so long they bring it to you on a tablet. This hotel was for the last day of our honeymoon and the staff did everything the could to make it special. thank you!

Stayed for 3 nights there when visiting Athens. The checking service was very smooth. Since we were upgraded to the butler floor, our checking was also on the sixth floor. The room size was ok but had all what you would need. The location of the hotel is close to almost all the attractions. Acropolis is about 15min walk. Lots of places to eat and all of then are good. We didn't get the chance to check out the breakfast or restaurant on the top floor but it sounded expensive. Overall it was a nice stay and no issues.

Historic hotel in Athens.

Historic hotel in Athens.
The definition of luxury!
The decoration of all the spaces is beautiful.
Especially in the evening, the icon of the enlightened GB embellishes all of the Constitution Square.

About a week ago, my newlywed wife and I spent one incredible night at the Grande Bretagne during our honeymoon. It was easily one of the best hotel experiences of my life.

First, we were greeted with a glass of champagne in the butler reception room after a long morning of travel. The butler was extremely courteous and professional. He showed us our room, gave us directions to all of the key monuments, and made several tour recommendations.
Our deluxe suite was classic, yet modern. It was exquisite and sophisticated. We had two large balconies. One of the balconies had a close-up view of the Parliament and the Changing of the Guards. The other balcony had a breathtaking view of the Acropolis. We have stayed at some of the nicest hotels in the United States, and this was easily our favorite hotel room.

It was a perfect ending to a marvelous honeymoon. Throughout our stay, my new wife continually told me well done. She was truly impressed with this hotel, and she is a hard one to impress.

Needless to say, we will be back again.

Very nice view and a glass of wine and enjoy the incredible view from Lycabettus Square to Syntagma to Acropolis. They have nice snack finger foods. Also very nice coffee on the ground floor. The staff very kindly smiling. You forget the stress and stress of the city. I've never been into a room But I imagine it must be incredibly beautiful

I called a friend from abroad who was already at my house for a rooftop meal, so sad food in the restaurant, the meat had become like a sole, the salad was supposedly rustic with tomato slices and cherry tomatoes instead of white slice. cheese, old oil etc. amateur service, delay in service, so to speak;

Very nice looking hotel. Unfortunately always have wait for your room when you arrive. The second time we checked in we were given a much smaller room than the first time for the same price...not good...barely enough room for two pieces of luggage. Tried to get someone's attention to change room...no response. Given the money you pay here, I would not recommend this hotel because of poor service and lack of follow through on providing feedback.

The best hotel in Greece, no comparison! Another category, not testified by the stars! It is not the luxury, it is the finesse and the good taste everywhere. It is a time, a category, a capital of Greece by itself, the beloved Great Britain!
