Had a drink up on the rooftop bar. Amazing views of Venice Beach

Visited the rooftop bar and it was shockingly not crowded. Despite almost every table being "reserved" and the drinks being pricey, the view and atmosphere was worth it.

Just went to the rooftop bar. Good view, but expensive and very basic drinks

Cool hotel with different themes per floor/room(?). Mattress quality can be better, but overall a nice hotel.

Hotel with excellent location. Minutes away from the beach. It has a really "happening" rooftop bar!

I was in Venice for business last week and decided to book a room here. Ended up getting the Ocean View King, great view and loved that it came with it's own balcony. I love the fact that it's right by the beach so I can go walk around on the boardwalk during the day. You also can't go wrong with the rooftop bar.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at. It is directly in the center of everything making it easily walkable. Hotel Erwin also has free bike rental.

Didn't stay at the hotel, just went to the rooftop for some drinks and appetizers. Beautiful view.

It's something incredibly relaxing about drinks with a view and you can't get anything better in venice than hotel Erwin. The rooftop lounge/bar has tasty drinks and an even tastier crab dip! Highly recommend for it's peaceful ambience and tech hipster crowd. It's truly a place where anyone can fit in.

Great vibes, amazing views, good drinks and yummy pizza! Doesn't get much better than this lovely rooftop spot.

The rooms at the Erwin were very nice, and the beds comfortable. We loved the rooftop bar and the lamb sliders they make are amazing. My only complaint is that our neighbors were very loud all night long and we had to repeatedly call the front desk. The person at the front desk sounded rather annoyed that we were calling multiple times. The walls are THIN, we could hear word for word everything the neighbors said.

Great rooftop bar with an amazing view. Bartenders were accommodating and they even provided blankets when it gets cold at night on the rooftop bar.

nice rooms, great location, nice bar. reception on the small side, so many people arriving at once can cause a bit of a wait. confusing to find sex-wax in the room, especially when not a surfer :)

Absolutely, the best hotel in Venice beach, the Erwin has it all. You are right on the beach, with the only rooftop bar around, and right across from the skate park and muscle beach area. The hotel decor is beyond cool. Lots of retro stuff and interesting photography and rock and roll art. The staff was great in every respect. Our room was clean and very spacious.

This is a review of just the rooftop lounge. The rooftop had a great view and nice atmosphere. I would definitely make reservations to get seating, but we just got a standing table. The drinks are pricey, $15 for a cocktail. The line for drinks took forever though, and they only had one bar.

The High rooftop bar is definitely a cool spot for drinks in Venice. It will be much better once their new bar is complete later this year but it has come a long way in the last year.

Went to the rooftop bar at the Hotel Erwin and was impressed with the level of service and of course the spectacular views overlooking the ocean. Will definitely go back as it wasn't pretentious, or stuffy.

The most excellent service by staff.. Absolutely love this motel. Decor is awesome. Gifted a bottle of red wine and a welcome card, above and beyond expectation of service. Clean, and comfortable. Room with a view was great entertainment of the locals. Friendly staff and very helpful. Would recommend to everyone.

Roof was kinda dead. But I don't hate dead. Peaceful at least.

We went to the rooftop bar and everyone was nice and welcoming. The view was really pretty. It's the beach so bring a sweater if you get cold easily. Good drinks and good food with a great view so yes I would recommend it.

The hotel rooftop offers views of boardwalk, beach and stunning sunsets.

This is so nice hotel in the area and the service was fair as well. Staff here was very accommodating. This is totally nice hotel location and everything was great.

If you're visiting venice beach then look no further! Hotel Erwin's guest services staff were top notch willing to upgrade our room to a better view at no extra charge, provide ammenities like bike rentals and beach towels, and the check out time at noon allows for extra snoozing in their comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious and the rooftop bar is a neat hangout. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be booking again.

My husband and I enjoyed a 3 night stay at Hotel Erwin in Nov. It was wonderful in every way, from the moment we checked in I felt like royalty.

My partner and I stayed overnight at your Hotel Last week.The reception staff was super friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi connection also worked seamlessly. I also observed that the rooms were very spacious with large comfortable beds. The overall experience was very satisfying. I couldn't ask for more from you! Highly recommended!

Great location to Venice beach main strip. This is where you want to be when coming to stay in the area. You are able to enjoy the show that Venice provides with all of the action just steps away. The hotel is amazing. The roof was closed but you did want go up there with the wind. As far as service goes it was great. Will be back to stay

Very nice rooms and really nice bar downstairs as well. I had some issues with the wired internet that they weren't able to solve, but thankfully the wireless is actually fast! The rooftop bar closed early a number of nights I was there

Among the bottom 10 least-satisfying showers I've ever had. Imagine someone took the trickle of water you'd use to fill an iron and forced it through a showerhead.

The sliding glass door overlooking the parking lot gave it a chinsy-motel-with-fresh-paint vibe. The cockroach that tried to stow away in my bag reinforced it.

One room, 2 queen beds. Probably a good view, but could see it because of scaffolding outside.

Met a guy by the name of Saul Perdido. Very friendly and love his customer service. Full of energy and positive vibes. Saul will make you want to stay forever. This guy is the coolest.

Great place. Staff is super chill and very friendly. Rooftop bar can be slightly snobby (act exclusive where there's no one there) but still a cool spot to drink and overlook the beach.

The desk staff hooked me up with an upgraded room which was great. Rooms are nice. Beds are plush. Everything is clean and up to date.

Notes for everyone: yeah it's Venice Beach. Things will smell like weed. Yeah there are homeless people in the area. It's an unfortunate part of Urban life. :(.

If you are in the area though it's still a great place to stay with super easy beach access. Really enjoyed it. Good value for the money considering the fantastic location and room sizes

My review for August 2018 refers only to the rooftop bar. There was a feeling that there was more staff on site than guests - so a quick service should be possible. We waited 15 minutes for the card. There was enough time to look at the misery all around us from above: a dirty and aging environment. The hotel did not make a great impression. After some time we had our drinks - not much for a lot of money and it was not even special. We wanted the bill - we said that twice ... After 20 minutes we got up and went straight to the chatting waiter. Here private conversations were more important than the guests. We gave him the money. We received change with deduction of his tip, which we did not want to give him. When I wanted to speak to the manager, he finally gave us the remaining money back very quickly. Never again!

Great location, nice staff, but the bedroom had the air-conditioning engine right in our bedroom. So noisy we couldn't sleep.

Loved my stay here. Perfect location within walking distance to anything related to the beach. The Red Bull suite looks out onto the beach and has a large patio...lots of fun!

Roof top bar with a great view. Great way to wind down the night...and not at all noisy as the suite was directly under...no problems getting to sleep even on the weekend.

Worst experience ever! We wanted to have a coffee at the rooftop. The guy at the welcome desk didn t even listen to us and treated us very disrespectful!

The view from the rooftop bar is amazing and the staff is friendly. The mixed drinks are mediocre but you're here for the view anyway

Awesome location! Make reservations if you have a big party. If you're looking for an actual meal I'd recommend eating before going and then snacking while you drink, relax, and enjoy the view! Great photo opportunities!

The breakfast was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. I have stayed in a few Hotel Erwin and will continue to do so.

I was at a Chamber event, so can't comment on the price of anything, but the food was good and you can't beat the view from the roof. I heard it's only a $5 cover usually, which is easy. But I did hear that even hotel guests have to pay which, if true, is a bad policy.

This hotel is very convenient since it's very close to the airport. They even have a 24h shuttle service so you don't need to pay for transportation. We had a great stay. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was also good. We only had a bit of delay to check out, they only had one person handling it.

This hotel smells , in the garage , tiles cracked in floor ,looks good on out side that's about it , I'm never booking again , be aware people ;(

Check in staff is amazing and very helpful. Love the hotel location for its close proximity to everything we needed to do in Venice. The security is top notch here, shout out to Michael from security for being so kind to us. The rooftop bar has a great atmosphere. The only con I have is the ongoing construction near the entrance. The hallway gets crowded quickly with all the public crowd in line for the elevator to get into the rooftop bar. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

This was an amazing great place to stay. The service was excellent and a big thumbs up to Mohit and Jesse! The Lounge on the roof had incredible views of the city and coast. I will definitely check it out again sometime soon. In the meantime, a 5 star rating place to stay, relax and enjoy Venice!

We checked in here after a horrible Air Bnb experience.

Ok so here my take in this place...
the room was very cool comfortable beds and clean.
However the 6th floor is loud as hell the roof top bar speakers blast straight down and are loud.

The elevator is painfully slow.

House cleaning never came to clean our room so we called and told them we were leaving in an hour but we needed towels to shower.
They brought towels,then house keeping came up as we were getting dressed and seemed super put out when we told them we were getting dressed 30 minutes into the time we told them it would be an hour.

The front desk people and door men were great..... the staff at the restaurant couldn t really be bothered to help you or do their jobs.
They were much too cool.

Overall the location and most of the staff was great but it need to be finished and has some staffing issues to work out.
I might try it again. But might wait until the finish construction and have things flowing better....

Amazing service. One of the most beautiful locations I've ever been to. Definitely will stay again!

Another special evening watching the sunset and enjoying our drinks and eats delivered by a very attentive server.

It s was nice, quite small and I would recommend the rooftop lounge but when we went we didn t realize you can t order dinner there and the dinner area was not very comfortable. It was truly more like a bar. I liked the place though and everyone was very nice and helpful.

My experience is with the Erwin's Rooftop Restaurant and Bar.

My Auntie has lived in this area for over 35 years. She frequents the coffee shop and we went to the rooftop bar once and had a wonderful time. Today we had family in from Washington, DC and took them to this place for after-brunch drinks. We were told the wait was an hour. We had no problem, ordered great margaritas and enjoyed the view.

After a while we watched people walk in and just sit down. We were told they had reservations. One group was asked to move and they refused, but was still served. After about an hour and 15 minutes, we was told it was okay to sit in one area, and then asked to get up. Once again we were seated in another area, but yet another employee said we could not sit there. I asked if there was an issue with our skin, as we were the one people of color there. An 1/2 hour after our initial 1 hour wait, we left.

The 2 stars are only for the margaritas. If you are black, step back, you will not be served here
