Great view, good access to the beach, easy parking, rustic rooms, interesting decoration, nice breakfast.

Amazing hotel with a view to die for. Hearing the waves at night while at the balcony with the stars above, one of the best nights. The staff is super nice and breakfast was good.
Can't recommend it enough.

Needs a reform, the door of the terrace falls old and took years q the room I do not like the views, regular cleaning the dining room well and the situation eztupenda

A good experience. I loved the room, the breakfast very good, but an indoor pool without any sunbed ?? Guests lying on the floor, made of stone ?? No .. I never had it in hotels like this.it never happened to me

I was there last saturday at this hotel and was disillusioned. I asked for a sea view room and took with a tree, the room dirty and run down, very old. So we took advantage of the breakfast, the employees a friendliness and the place.

Very nice hotel. The view, layout and service are all good. It is a hotel with all the trimmings. The breakfast was a bit monotonous but well taken care of.
Furthermore, the place is nice. Downstairs you can walk onto the boulevard with lots of nice tents!

Spectacular views, but hotel with facilities far outdated in terms of decor and functionality, as well as some details of lack of cleanliness. Good breakfast with a lot of variety and quality.

Overall liked, essential for the combination of leisure, beach and pool. A hotel with satisfied quality, worth the little sympathy of the service. Good breakfast.

Excellent location. The hotel is not new but renovated well. The rooms have ocean views all. The view is lovely. Every day change the towel. The average level breakfasts a homemade dinner on a buffet but with one menu. Average beauty twice a week fish.

Overpriced for what it offers, particularly in the restaurant. Clean, cosy and retro. Friendly and helpful staff. Great view of the ocean, nice gardens and pool area. In need of some serious renovation, like the inner pool. Small gym with a view to the beach was a nice surprise.

I have never seen such a care as this hotel is a wonder they are friendly

Good views, bed and cleaning. Very poor and old fashioned decor. With some refinements of modernism it was perfect.

From a 4 star hotel you should expect more than what s offered. Short diversity of the menu, as the hotel is old needs some updates on the rooms as it will be appreciated an access ramp directly to the beach, it has direct access to the beach but only stairs (a lot of them) and it s difficult to go with all the stuff and kids (baby cars etc..). Over all is ok but for sure not a 4 star hotel.

Dilapidated hotel (year 60-65), not suitable for the elderly and people with reduced mobility. Room passable, except that in ours it was necessary to kneel down for the sockets. (inadmissible at my age). Good breakfast but once again in a dated setting.
The 4 stars may have been justified at the time but are no longer relevant in 2019.

Hotel is already old and if you have one of the ends of the hotel, to go to the indoor pool (winter) you will have to use 3 elevators to get there. Bathtub with some rust, doorknobs with different colors. We already had the possibility to stay in other hotels in the region, it would be unfair to classify in the same way.
For the rest nothing to point out, nice breakfast with a tolerance of 30 minutes during the weekend, friendly staff, 50 meters away and your feet are in the sand.

Very weak facilities and misleading advertising in booking. Too bad. There was light through the balcony door, bulor in the bathroom, anyway, I do not advise.

Cockroaches. Yes, when I move the bed to get some fresh air conditioning, I come across a cockroach.
The next day I went to the reception, and what was not my astonishment when I told what happened, I still took it with a look / expression of disbelief.
The check in took 15m (in line) plus 10m to be attended (because they only do at 4pm, so create those conditions).
I called the reception at 11 pm and asked to ask where I could buy water, they replied that they only had water from the stones, and in that same phone call I had to warn that I would not be in that room anymore because we found a bug again, this time a spider in the middle of the pillows ..
There they switched rooms ...
Very poor service, they never even deigned to apologize for the inconvenience / inconvenience, at the time of my complaint, the sub-boss didn't even come to the reception.

4 stars has nothing. The bathrooms smell of sewage. 4 star hotel but two are deal.

New Year 2018-2019.
The experience was positive and the group had fun, just because we always have fun and under any circumstances, but there are many details to review.
Dinner was tasteless, bland and the service took too long. In such a way, that we passed directly from the dinner table to the supper table.
The supper buffet was perhaps sufficient, but presented in a poor and outdated way.
3 very negative things:
1 - during supper, a staff member comes to ask how it is going. To the observations we made, he always responds that this is how it is done. Does not accept criticism. He knows.
2 - I go to the bar and I have to pay for a gin. Then my friends go and they don't pay. It's included. Plus: the maid says it's 7.5 . Give me the change that included 1 and 2 cent coins. I think there should be a lack of money but I don't want to be upset. The next day I find the receipt for the box. 6.5. EMPLOYEES TO STEAL CUSTOMERS AND HARM THE PATTERN.
3 - The customers still dance, the music continues but the employees start to cross the floor with the bufett's food and spread shrimp on the floor, where they dance. Unfortunate.
Positives: the location, the facilities and the excellent music.
Breakfast and brunch: acceptable.

The first view is deceptive, the Hotel do Mar is from the outside a typical holiday hotel, but from the inside it turns out to be a very well-equipped accommodation. Particularly noteworthy are the old clinker floors, the jalousies and doors made of wood, the beautiful white walls with fan abrasion and the many paintings by local artists. A touch of pousada, antique, simple but romantic. The equipment is in order, everything is important, also air conditioning. Particularly noteworthy is the cleanliness, with such a large hotel not a matter of course. The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is a surprise for Portuguese standards. The Hotel do Mar is a reasonably priced recommendation for romantics and those who appreciate the stunning view of the sea and want to hear the surf at night.

The location and the hotel itself. It is true that it is a hotel with many years and it would need a little facelift. Still very cozy. And it has parking.

The hotel certainly does not deserve 4 *. Tiles on floors are damaged, walls are terrible. During the rain, water poured from the ceiling into the room. There are no tiles in the pool, water with the addition of some stinking substance, which a few washes on the bikini didn't remove from the bikini to throw away. Part of the service does not know English at all, so communication is only via a translator. Every day in the restaurant the same meals, a fixed menu card, tasteless food. Only fish soup recommendable. On the plus side the views from the hotel and from the service of 2 delectable elderly men in the restaurant.

The location is great! The rooms in the second floor horror. Old, stink, loud, small. Rooms in the 9th floor are newer and it is not that loud.

Great hotel facing the sea. All of its rooms are overlooking the bay of Sesimbra, and have a beautiful terrace. The staff very attentive at all times, which facilitates the stay in this great hotel. It has three swimming pools on the 5th floor, which in turn is a beautiful garden. Two of them are outdoors and the other is covered. It also has a sauna next to this last pool.

Fantastic Hotel in a top location right on the beach. One point which is very unfortunate is that you cannot put the drink consumed in the bar on account via your room number. You have to pay for this either in cash or with a bank card / credit card?

Positives spacious and clean room, balcony of the room with a beautiful view of the beach, breakfast 5 ***** ... Less positive points expected more because the room has a tiny TV the hotel itself looks like a maze by the pool I didn t like hot water, but when we left it we got very cold until we got to the room. They should have bathrobes for the guests.

Restaurant with letter and buffet (fixed price 22 euros). The buffet dishes are little varied and leave a lot to be desired. Including the desserts. Friendly and attentive service. Vintage furniture. Unfortunately for dinner you can not enjoy the privileged sea view as it has mirrored paper in the windows.
The bar is very cozy. It has interior and exterior zone. Some days there is live music. The vintage furniture care is a very positive point. Friendly service. Very nice views.

Very well located and all rooms with sea view, good breakfast, with indoor pool, gym and massage, worth having a shower box instead of a bathtub and having a TV at the bar to watch football matches, but it is worth knowing and stay, four stars.

The hotel is somewhat old but the facilities are very good. The breakfast very good.

The only good thing it has are the views, otherwise nothing good. Empiy with all the downsides.
Hotel:
It is not a hotel for the disabled you always have to climb stairs and there are no ramps.
To go to the Rooms:
You had to take 2 elevators, I who was on the 2nd floor to get there from the 9th floor had to take an elevator to the 5th floor, from there, go down a few stairs to take another elevator that already took us to the silver of the room, but if you were on floor 1, you did not have an elevator to access it, that is, from the silver two you had to go down the stairs to get to it
Room:
Small, there was not much space to move comfortably, the rooms and the bathroom were a bit old, and if you already have an extra bed, there is almost no space.
Food:
They call fatal food "buffet" but in reality it is a menu that you serve it to yourself and you do not have a great variety to choose from, that is, it is this and that you eat ...
Experience:
Nothing good, I do not recommend it and the truth is that there are many 4-star hotels better than that

Fantastic location, super friendly employees, very clean despite having a few years old, the restaurant the food is very good and made with "love", I strongly advise and for sure to come back

The hotel was dated but the superior room was very good. The food was poor, hot food from the buffet was cold each day. There was no gluten free bread and the tea and coffee were only luke warm from self service machines.

It has good hygiene, large rooms and a good location.

Hotel with 4 star rating. But I think it is a 3 star. The location is good, with a view of the ocean and access to the shore / beach. Friendly employees. Old hotel, some furniture with many brands of use, television with few channels. Internet works well. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment, little variety and canned fruit. The breakfast room was always very hot. I think I will be back but I do not consider it to be 4 stars.

Not what you would expect in a hotel ...

We were assigned a room with sea view, just as requested, but when we opened the door of the "balcony" gave access to a ground floor, full of people lying on loungers and others in transit. This prevented us from being able to enjoy the sea view and deprived us of our privacy, forcing us to have the door and window always closed.

Decent hotel with good breakfast buffet. The prices are very reasonable. The staff were friendly. Some bus tour groups overnight here. The views are really nice. Enjoyed our stay.

Historic hotel in Sesimbra. Staff friendly, deserved a remodel to the rooms namely the water taps and the non-existent housekeeping in the bathroom.

Everything at hand ... pool, restaurant and access to the beach. Very professional staff Rooms somewhat small but sufficient and very well equipped

I expected more for such money ... Much more. A hotel like from the PRL. Breakfast is the same every day, scrambled eggs, fried eggs over and over again, no hot sausages or old fried ham. The choice was only on rolls. Fruits are always the same watermelon canned pineapple and canned peaches. Sometimes apples and kiwi and rarely bananas. Often as they saw that in the morning people threw at something that was "new" to eat, for example, various types of cheese right away or cookies immediately after a while they took the kitchen back. Fortunately for someone who, like me, spent almost 3 weeks there on business, from the gastronomy side, a tragedy of zero diversity. Plus WiFi quickly working in the rooms for a huge plus which slightly compensated for this tragic food views from the hotel room. Indoor pool tragedy, missing tiles, short tiles, people bathed in it, I preferred not to risk the fungus. Daily rooms cleaned but also without any madness. In general, for Polish hotel standards it would have maybe a maximum of 2 stars ... For trips longer than a week I would not recommend ... Me from scrambled eggs as I can see still nauseous.

Great view. Green spaces and fantastic pools. Private parking. Very good indeed. To repeat without a doubt.

It is not worth the amount requested, after finding spiders on towels and cockroaches both in the room and in the corridor on the 6th floor where the access to the outside is, room with tiny TV and not of great quality, I changed my opinion about the hotel, not worth it 4 stars,
