An exceptionally elegant hotel. I went there for a drink, I was served by Thomas whose sympathy and professionalism are only matched by the wonderful taste of the wine that was served to me, I will come back.

This is a tale of masterful service recovery.

This is a tale of masterful service recovery.

My first stay at the Hotel de Crillon was a frustrating, alienating mess. This was such a surprise, that I waited until after a second stay to write this review. In fact, the then-Managing Director contacted me shortly after the first stay to invite me back as a "gesture of goodwill". Let's see if they managed a comeback...

They define their marketing. They define their prices. So they define the expectations. I'm less susceptible to the marketing than I once was, but the price remains my reassurance that the fundamentals of a hotel stay will be present: sleep quality, facilities as-advertised, processes fuss-free. They charge among the highest prices of any European hotel but on the first stay operated at the level of any airport chain hotel: soulless, tangible cost-saving measures, disinterested staff. The service level was overwhelmingly dysfunctional, and the accommodation marred by shortcomings which should be unthinkable in a recently refurbished, top-tier hotel. Examples included the pool still being locked an hour after its published opening time; no sound insulation between the bedroom and the courtyard bar outside; ineffective air conditioning; having to beg an overtly contemptuous receptionist to stay until 1pm even though my rate included late check-out; plus a handful of silly slip-ups. When the hosts seem this overwhelmed, then what hope do guests having of relaxing?

These were all a distant memory by the end of the second stay.

This time, the guest relations team was exceedingly attentive. I've never heard my own name so often. Yes, they had clearly been tasked with making a fuss over me under the circumstances, but I appreciated being privy to the all-bells-and-whistles service level. Personalization was the big difference: instead of the dismissively anonymous treatment of the first stay, every interaction gave the impression that they consider me a valued 'regular'. Only on the second trip was there any evidence that they read the pre-arrival questionnaire.

Not much needs to be said about the design: it is as finessed in reality as it looks online. However, you can draw a clear line between the public areas which get better the more you look at them and the guestrooms, which make a slick first impression but have some surprising shortcomings. If you value sleep quality and daylight, then the inward-facing rooms are to be avoided.

The first stay was in room 127, a courtyard-facing, first-floor Grand Premier Room. The noise from the courtyard bar outside flows freely into the room, preventing a good night's sleep. The low ceilings and lack of daylight gave it a dingy feel. The second stay was in suite 315, a third-floor, street-facing Deluxe Suite. It worked much better: perfectly sound-insulated, brighter and generally much more inviting. Both rooms were equally lovingly furnished and finished though: there was no sense of the room being more "basic" than the suite.

The "bespoke" massage was very relaxing and I felt the benefits for days afterwards. Despite this, I'm not sure if the Hotel de Crillon is the best choice if the wellness facilities are important to you. It is a true jewel box: glitzy, but very small. The pool is tiny too narrow for two people to swim lengths simultaneously and too small to do anything whatsoever it there are already kids playing in it. The fitness room is better. The selection of beverages feels larger than the selection of equipment, but everything is well maintained, and, thanks to the Kinesis, you can just about improvise a full workout.

On the first trip, I did not expect them to bring their A-game two-night stay, first-timer, in the third-cheapest room category. Despite this forgiving disposition, reality fell uncomfortably short of reputation at the Hotel de Crillon. That the MD recognised this and unhesitatingly made amends shows that guests might be in capable hands after all, even when things go so badly wrong.

If you want to celebrate an event and just drink a glass of champagne, I guess you have to come waving your platinum card. Sitting for 10 min. with a friend who was not interested in us, we were asked to leave room for other people without even proposing another table. We preferred to go to the Ritz where we were superbly received, so much so that we stayed for dinner in the delicious winter garden. I specify that we are over 60 years old. The plasters, even if they are gilded, are badly wiped at Crillon. To avoid.

Excellent! We booked for a tea time and were not disappointed. Great selection of salty and sweet treats that were all very good. We had the taste of the lords, with scones too. Everything was perfect !

From happiness, from the welcome to the service of the meal in the winter lounge, beautifully decorated for the end of the year and always beautiful without the falling of Swarovski crystals, the ceiling is just superb!
The pastry area is a small jewel, each cake is a jewel!
Soon we will stay there to appreciate more and more moments of exception and sweetness of life.
How lucky to know this level of excellence!

We had a tasting menu and everything was really perfect. This is called the great cuisine served in a very pleasant and by a very friendly staff. Too bad that the price of wine comes spoil the party. Indeed if there is nothing to complain about the price of dishes it is not the same for wines that are, at least, twice as expensive as everywhere else. Too bad that in such an establishment we try to "catch up" on the price of wines while many restaurateurs have abandoned such a practice.

Just visited the newly refurbished hotel. Generally a fan of Rosewood hotels, and this one did not disappoint. Everyone is super friendly, and there are plenty of staff always available. Service is prompt and quick, and the lobby is very well appointed, both in terms of art and furnishings. It's a little expensive (both food/beverage and rooms), but it's a lovely experience.

This review concerns the rooftop bar Bonjour Paris but it also concerns the overall service! We spent the best evening there! We got great advice to pick one of the delicious cocktails and the waiters were remarquable, kind and very informative. Thanks again for a beautiful evening we will definitely remember!

Third passage since the renovation and what to say ?? I do not know if I must revolt on the attitude of the waiters worthy of an Ibis hotel, the quality of the brunch eggs are not prepared by the minute, the quality of the products, the new decoration ... I am nostalgic of the old green patio, receptions in the room Marie Antoinette and QUALITY! We liked very much getting together between regulars we will rather find a true PALACE worthy and unpretentious

Good hotel. I had a bad experience in the hotel with the air-condition and the Wi-Fi. Food is good and some rooms is noisy. Decoration is magnificent, the lobby is great place. But it is very expensive.

A comfortable moment: a bright and pleasant space, perfect service (attentive and human, everything is done to feel good and comfortable), delicious pastries (the grapefruit pie awakens the taste buds, the crunchy lemon makes savor the citrus, the scones are hot and tender), we relax and enjoy!

The place is obviously sublime, and the service obviously impeccable: courteous, smiling, helpful, present without being intrusive.
Other than that, what about the experience? BOF.

1. I called the day before (Saturday) to reserve for the "snack". On the phone they explain to me that there is no reservation, but that "if there is a bit of a wait", we will be served something to drink and we can take a tour of the hotel. . Well. Ok. Why not. The occasion is simple: tea / afternoon tea with the parents.

2. We arrive on D-day (Sunday) at 3:30 pm and we are 4. We are told that there is a wait. When you take a look inside, surprise: the "Winter Garden" is actually ridiculously small. At first glance I would say that there are several tables for two people, but probably only two tables for four people (!). So obviously, this is the recipe for failure at the waiting level. In the end, after nearly 1 hour of waiting (of course, the previous customers who may have also waited camp in their positions to take advantage of the moment), we finally opt for the "exterior" option and we are installed in the courtyard, where it takes a little cold despite the heaters installed. Well ... We don't have the framework for which we came, but we are installed.

3. What about the food? Unequal. Two of us took the "afternoon tea of the dukes" at 60 euros per person (all the same) for: 1 hot drink (my hot chocolate was really good), 2 dry mini-scones, 1 bite-bun with foie- fat (fairly dry bun), 2 bites and sandwiches with smoked salmon, as well as a "hot" bite whose contents escaped me but which was very good. Add a softness (chocolate or raspberry). Overall: not very filling, too dry, and why the hell the inevitable smoked salmon and foie gras for a snack? Nothing was delicious, even if nothing was bad.

One of us had the lobster salad. Quite a small portion (but not cheap) and very good after its return. The last of us had a strawberry-melba which he really liked. Add to that a 50cl carafe of champagne for 4, and we end up with an addition at 236 euros for dishes that are generally not very generous, and a little too dry for the essential (even the bread that was served to us was dry).

I also do not understand that reservations are not accepted ... In such a small place it is ridiculous. We come for a good time and we can wait forever. If customers booked and did not come, just take a deposit ... In short.

Overall experience was average. Again the service is top notch and the surroundings beautiful, but that is not enough.

I will probably not go back - anyway, not at 4, the risk of waiting is too great. And not with the current card.

Decent cosy place, also great service in Paris. Most important is they do have extraordinary desserts. Chef is also kind, he came out with fresh warm wild-honey Madeline for all the customers that day by himself, such a wonderful experience.

MAGNIFICENT ! The tea time in the winter garden is fabulous, both the setting and the plate. The taste of the Dukes is stunning (do not expect to eat at night will be impossible) and small gift by leaving! The staff is attentive, helpful, smiling and professional and the toilet soap is by far the best hotel soap I have ever felt in my life

The value of having a drink in this place, which was Marie Antoinette's piano practice room, is already worth it, so it's a four star and the service isn't particularly great. If you drink a cocktail, it is a 5 star hotel! It may be. The waiter obviously looked at the person and changed his attitude, so I felt like a reluctant Asian would be sorry to be here. It was a space that I was glad I went.

Was recently in the bar. Really very nice atmosphere, also because of the frescoes and the interior.
The cocktail I had was very good, I had the Parisien Mule, the different flavors came out very well and nothing was whitewashed.
The staff was friendly and reserved.
Gladly again
