If you are an entrepreneur in Dallas, you want to ...

If you are an entrepreneur in Dallas, you want to check out the DEC. They have free access to great mentors who are there to offer advice, office space memberships for small businesses and freelancers, and put on events regularly. And they are right by the DART rail line which makes it easy to get to.

The DEC ambassador program is a volunteer opportunity they run annually that offers an opportunity for locals to get connected to the entrepreneurship leaders and groups in Dallas. I participated in the first class and it has been great for my career. Also, whenever I attend local events now, I always know someone.

Trey and the team at the DEC are truly something special. Every time I walk into the DEC, I'm happy to be there and know I will get to talk to movers and shakers who aren't afraid to put in the hard work to pursue great things.

Even though my DEC ambassador term is over, I still volunteer once a month and check people in at the Start Up Grind events. If you are new to the Dallas tech or entrepreneurship community, I highly recommend picking one of the recurring meetings they host as a way to get an idea what the place is about. 1 Million Cups is every Wed at 9am-10am and is a great intro to the community at large.

DEC is an amazing resource for Dallas entreprenuers. Yes, its a great co-working space....but the tools, resources and support they provide to help entreprenuers get to that next levels is where the value is at.

The DEC is a phenomenal asset for local entrepreneurs.

Whether you're just getting started or you're already running a significant organization, you'll find a community of like-minded, positive people at the DEC. And, as an entrepreneur, you'll be better off by spending time with them.

The space is beautiful. The people are fantastic. And the events are consistently great.

Go. You'll enjoy it.

Visited here already twice. One for dell event and startup event. This place is both cozy and great - in the center of the city with great location for driving away from city. They have great resources and other startups in the DEC.

The DEC was an incredible place to office. Our nonprofit had a dedicated desk there for over a year and it was a great experience I would definitely recommend this co-working space to any startup or anyone who works from home that wants a change. Not only was the office space clean and a safe place to leave things overnight, but also the DEC staff went out of their way to help us whether it was hiring a new employee, looking for a new web developer or just needing someone to talk to on a long day they were constantly there to help encourage us and help us grow. We are sad to be relocating to another city or else we would work here out of here forever - Thank you DEC!

I REALLY wish I could give this establishment a negative 1. Your employers are a reflection of you!
It s VERY unprofessional for TIFFANY STIMPSON to use vulgar language and slander ones name on social media. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS INDIVIDUAL. Racism will not be tolerated! Her name on instagram is taheedah_lifestyle0610.

The events, resources, support and collaborative, networked community at the DEC is unrivaled. Beyond a work space with like minded individuals, the DEC offers exceptional programming and unmatched access to mentors and leaders throughout North Texas. We have gained clients (and friends!) and grown our business as a direct result of officing here.

I've worked out of the DEC for several months and really enjoyed it. Nice working space, clean, quiet, and tons of helpful people nearby when you have a question. Really a great asset for the startup community.

These other reviews must be written by friends and employees. Most of the speakers and mentors that have office hours are trying to sell you something. Even the so called investors try to sell services. Always asking for a handout from startups instead of providing a helping hand. Been going there for months, and now I understand why the DEC is a NON-PROFIT. What a waste of time.

Hello fellow starters, innovators, and entrepreneu...

Hello fellow starters, innovators, and entrepreneurs. My name is Josh and I co-work here at the DEC. There are great resources for people like us to leverage, but the most important and valuable thing you can experience and capture is being around people who are like you, access to people who have been where you have been, and where you want to go.

The only reward I get for sharing this review is that maybe it can save you the painful journey of launching alone and realizing you can do it in the trenches with others. Life is team sport. - Thanks @thedectx

Great space to work and the staff are generous with their local knowledge and make thoughtful introductions to other professionals. It's a great place to make new connections and sometimes even better, friends.

A great place to work and collaborate with others. The co-working area is motivating and they keep the coffee on tap. There's even a keg for those needing a drink while burning the midnight oil. It's a great collection of resources and office space in a fun atmosphere.

When you're building a business, you're going to need lots of help and motivation. The DEC not only has a great space to work out of, but also a phenomenal network of mentors and entrepreneurs that are there to support and guide you on your startup journey. A neat part of The DEC experience is the weekly "Member Huddle," where members share accomplishments and needs. It creates an awesome community where you become aware of the challenges and success of each member. This allows you to grow your network and leverage it to boost your business.

The DEC is a central hub of the Dallas startup scene. Come check out the all the inspiring events they offer. 1 Million Cups, hosted every Wednesday, is a great place to meet the DEC's team and get plugged in!

The DEC has had a big impact on my entrepreneurial journey. The ambiance & entrepreneurial spirit in the building is intoxicating -- just an all around great place with tons of phenomenal resources & filled with awesome people who genuinely want to see you succeed.

Schedule permitting, I highly recommend checking out their Mentor Whiteboard Sessions -- at $100/yr it's legitimately an absolute steal.

The DEC has the vibe of a neighborhood coffee shop with the connections of a large corporation. The community team takes the time to get to know you and then connects you with people internally and externally who can help. If you are thinking about joining, do it! You will not be disappointed.

This place gets a lot of good reviews and is always in the local news. I can't figure out why. No one can name a successful startup or significant impact this place has had. It is only known to people in Dallas. But, the office looks good.

DEC is a great coworking location. The place is centrally located in downtown, walkable to most restaurants, meeting places and plenty of parking nearby as well. The tall ceilings give you a great ambience to work. The phone booths give you the privacy you need for calls and the conference rooms gives you the abilty to host clients. Its probably the best keep secret in Dallas among coworking locations. The community manager is extremely helpful, overall great experience.

Disappointing to see this is the best resource Dallas can provide to entrepreneurs. The family offices in Old Parkland should start their own venture resource. Otherwise Dallas will go no where with clueless amateurs like this.

The DEC has been extremely helpful to our startup Life Equals. Not only did they help us with go-to-market strategy but they connected us with leaders in the CPG space. Those mentors then connected us with senior leadership at Starbucks and Teavana to discuss distribution. We could not have found a better partner in Dallas or the Midwest. Although we are not even located in Dallas, The DEC is an example of how other communities should work to support entrepreneurs across the country. As entrepreneurs, we are all in this journey together and it is refreshing to know a entrepreneur center in Dallas was willing to help and support our Kansas City based company. Thank you again DEC!

The DEC's service to Dallas has greatly impacted my business and personal life.

I started attending the DEC's weekly events in 2014, in my early-entrepreneur stage. I am grateful to have had the fortune of learning from experts who were open and generously willing to share their experiences and knowledge. I took advantage of all that the DEC had to offer, and most of it was free.

Aside from the many great (and lasting) connections and information I received when I was regularly going to the DEC activities, I have particularly enjoyed connecting with Ingrid Vandervelt.

I met her when The DEC brought her in to speak last year (2015), and quickly joined her EBW2020 group. She created a Mastermind group shortly after that, and in January 2016, hosted a women's retreat in San Antonio with Sharon Lechter (!!!) and Lauren Flanagan (!!!) It was the most impactful event of my career.
One of the most dynamic activities she presented that San Antonio weekend was the power of "The Ask". We were instructed to come prepared to present our single most important business need, question, or contact, and were given 2 minutes each to present. It was such a deeply powerful tool, that I brought the concept back to Dallas, to the Small Business | Entrepreneur Mixers that I host in my business location in Midlothian, Texas. When we duplicated the activity, three people left with their needs met, and the biggest ask (and it was a BIG one!) was answered just a few days later. Amazing collaborations! And it all began at The DEC.

I can't imagine running a business without neither The DEC nor Ingrid's teachings. They have been priceless.

In the beginning, starting a company and effectuating an idea can be a very lonely experience. With the DEC, this is no longer the case. Sharp, talented individuals just like you are working side by side toward similar dreams. In my view, being around like-minded people can make all the difference in the world. At the DEC, you are no longer alone. And in a greater sense, you are now part of a worthy team trying to make a difference.

Launching a tech startup is hard, but possible. Launching a tech startup as a sole founder is harder, but still possible. Launching a tech startup alone without a developer background should be virtually impossible. Thankfully, The DEC opens its mentoring "white board" sessions to non-members! I'm extremely thankful for these free resources at my disposal, of which I'm finding very beneficial as I navigate the uncertain and mistake-laden path to startup success.

This is a great place to meet people. There are many startups who have set up shop in here. They host events that provide an opportunity to network and relax. All together they help any venture along towards success but eventually a venture doesn't need them in order to be successful. Consider the DEC to be an office space that attracts like minded individuals

Incredibly fortunate to have been referred to The Dec following Uber Pitch back in March. From the moment I walked in good things started to happen. Everyone there seems to want to help in some way. I was encouraged to pitch at 1 Million Cups, which led to an introduction, which led to our first round of funds raised less than six months after we we launched. The DEC and its team were absolutely a catalyst for our organization, we would not be where we are today without them.
