Hot Mama's is kind of a Capitol Hill institution. And they have some of the best pizza in Seattle there.

Its spartan and utilitarian nature and lack of comfortable seating are somehow endearing. I frequently stop by for a slice and a sit down for a few minutes in the middle of my day. The copious band posters and rack filled with copies of The Stranger and other local free newspapers just fills out the ambience.

I had a simple delivery order placed via telephone. The person I spoke with on the phone was unfortunately very curt and seemed to have no manners (or patience) at all. Bad customer service. She posed her questions in such a way that it made me feel rushed, anxious, and on-edge, causing me to give her the wrong phone number in a haphazard response.
On the bright side, the delivery guy was really nice and the pizza was great. (The pizza gets 5 stars)

I like the food could use a little more cheese customer service was terrible that actually yelled at me for not ordering my pizza online and then they short-changed me when they gave me my change that a real nice delivery driver there I gave him a tip the two guys that work the front door were unprofessional

Good and cheap pizza by the slice ($3), great local alternative to Dick's if you are on a tight budget for eating out but don't want to keep eating burgers and fries. Good spot for a casual date or friend hangout, but seating is limited and noticeably so on weekends.

Large pesto, add chicken
NomNomNom! Winning!
I've had 4 different pizzas here, and if you're into big slices, thin crust, sloppy toppy grease, this is a top pick everytime.

The pizza is fantastic! Great spot to stop in for a quick lunch or dinner.
The only reason I give a four star is because the pizza is fantastic only if fresh! I ve had pizza that they reheat like most places and it s good, but fresh is beyond better!

Greasy nasty pizza and the two guys in the back we're horribly rude. I work for a local courier and they stated that they live on tips and that I was rude. Then get a different job if you don't like it. I wasn't rude I just needed a itemized receipt for my company and we do a lot to get people to eat your nasty food, so be careful what you say. You'll (customer) find better pizza at domino's or if you're drunk.

Hot Mama's is the best pizza in Seattle. Fight me. When it comes down to it Dave's crew makes the best pie in town. Yes there are other incredible spots making Za with all kinds of fancy ovens and doughs and ingredients, but when you want a delicious pie around $20 or under ( the cost a pizza should be ) Hot Mama's is the Jam. Just because your eggs cost $8.99 doesn't mean a single pizza should cost $35 +. I don't care what the rent cost, pizza is suppose to be tasty and inexpensive. Stay Hot, Never change!

"nothing new coming out" was the lie of the night, me and my girlfriend had to eat the driest leftovers because they wanted to sell, seconds later I came back to grab some napkins and saw 3 new different topping pizzas they began to sell by the slice, I stood in line again and when they noticed I was back they took their sweet time with all the customers in front on me, after an hour we got tired and left (waited that long only cause covid has better businesses closed).

The managers are probably the rudest people I have ever encountered. I came in for a remake on my pizza due to them making it wrong (asked for no mushrooms) due to allergy - they still made the combo with them on there. The managers then told me I was wrong and they wouldn t remake it - WHILE wearing a sweating string tank top with her arm pit hair out. Blew my mind!! The cleanliness is questionable now to me. Never coming back to this joke of a pizza place!

The staff is SO VERY friendly!! Stopped in late Monday night, 15 min. before closing. I asked if I had time to eat my pizza quickly before closing. Sure, you have plenty of time, said the polite friendly man playing my pizza. Very friendly staff and the best Pizza in Seattle. The Greek pizza is always my favorite. This place has the best pizza crust I ve ever experienced. Chewy crust yet has a very fine crunchy bottom to satisfy the most discriminating pizza connoisseur. Thanks to all the staff for making the best pizza and providing a friendly welcoming environment, it s so greatly appreciated.

Solid affordable pizza, came here for dinner after not being able to get into stateside. Pleasantly surprised, had three slices: sausage, pepp, and pesto. For a solid representation of a NY slice of pizza, you can do a lot worse than hot mama's.
Sausage 4/5
Pesto 5/5
Pepp: 4/5
Crust 4/5

I'm born and raised in NYC and am a pizza fanatic. This is the best in Seattle. And I have eaten a lot pizza in NYC: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Long Island....
Hot Mama's definitely compares. When I'm in the area (which isn't very often), I call and order a large pie and have them leave it uncut so I can get it home and pop it in the oven and then I cut it myself. Great. Now I'm hungry.

My favorite pizza in Seattle.

My favorite pizza in Seattle.
Fast by the slice pizza, lots of options, staff is super kind, not overly expensive.

Pizza quality is exactly what you need when it is late night and you are on capitol hill with the drunk munchies. It is Brooklyn style pizza, loaded with carbs and mediocrity. The customer service can only be described as disgruntled , intolerant and angrily judgemental. Do not expect any sort of a warm welcome. They have an awesome grateful dead pennant on the wall ... Which is the best part about the place.

Wish we lived near this pizza joint. Loved the pepperoni pizza and the sausage pizza. We would definitely be back but unfortunately we live out of state. Very tasty and we loved the more medium thickness crust.
