Charming, in an idyllic location, near the center of Palma, the spa does not correspond to the category of the hotel and the rooms (in any of its categories) disappoint in their "ocean view" as it is a protected building they can not reform it. Your breakfast is recommended (cataloged as the best in the world) and spend time in the pool area. The staff 100% professional!
DO NOT stay in this hotel if you want to move around the island. I have been here a week and ever single night I have waited over an hour for a taxi despite booking well in advance.
The staff are very friendly and attentive, the massage is quite weak, it lasted less than expected and in the caves it smells like rotten eggs ... even though the staff scent from time to time ...

Unfortunately not the most impressive hotel in Majorca. The rooms are standard for a 5 star hotel. And the room service menu needs some serious upgrading. The food is not of great quality and the presentation is poor. Especially if you compare it to other local 5 star hotels. Also the split building layout is not enjoyable. Especially not when you want to make your way to the spa in the evening and you have to walk through an unlit tunnel. Also the gym is tiny. A couple of machines and a couple of weights do not equal a gym. The staff are very polite and helpful but few speak good English. So in the case of an emergency, or even a simple request, it s difficult to communicate. With that said, the 3 stars listed above are for the breakfast. Its well laid out/presented and very delicious. Perhaps some of the best breakfast I have enjoyed in a while.
Very nice and nice place, we went to eat the brunch they have and they are 10 dishes very careful and good. About two and a half hours. Staff very nice and attentive. Recommended to go with good weather to enjoy the terrace.
I have appreciated a very good hotel and with very good staff they took care of everything without problems and with a smile, the views were wonderful (especially if you were in the pools) and the room spectacular, the only problem has been that I have been very Little time! I highly recommend it

The best hotel we got to know in Mallorca. Warm welcome, top location right on the sea, great architecture. The architectural concept concept extends to the last corner of the hotel complex. You can not get enough of the architecture. Outstanding! Super room, well equipped. Great gastronomy, breakfast on the terrace by the sea. Special thanks go to Daniela from the front desk and Katrin from the breakfast service. More is not possible!
I was only on the terrace at triple height and it is wonderful with the sea crashing in your pool and those Balinese beds. The downside would be the small parking lot.
Absolutely stunning room and balcony, impeccable service, 5 star degustation lunch perhaps underpriced at the restaurant. Loved it! The only loss of the star is that the sauna was cold and so was unusable

The place is very beautiful, it is located on the edge of the cliff and from the terrace you can see the sea.
We ate in the main hall. Several starters and a first.
The first was a sirloin, you have to bear in mind that as in all restaurants like this, the meat is very good but it is a small piece.
Afterwards we had after dinner, the stay was very pleasant.

I took the love of my life to the restaurant to have a nice lunch and it turned into a disaster. Service was horrible and food was worse. Ruined the moment to treat someone amazing. Location and view great but all else sucked.
Visited this hotel today for lunch. Firstly the service was very poor for a 5star establishment. Server took for ever to take our order. We were left sitting at our table awkwardly waiting, once our order was taken it took over 10mins for our drinks to arrive, we had to ask several times. Starters arrived. One was stone cold, overcooked and flavourless drowned in sweet tomato sauce that tasted like ketchup. Bread with tomato and a simple salad consisting of lettuce, tomato and avocado were OK, but nothing to write home about. Mains arrived for both me and my dining partner. We both took a bite of our dishes. They were inedible. I felt like I had just been served a bowl of overcooked noodles with soggy mushrooms, caramalised onion served in a bowl with an entire bottle of ketchup. I was stunned to say the least that an establishment which has such high ratings would dare serve such low caliber cuisine. Truly disappointed. Both of us left hungry and had to make a stop on our way home to another restaurant for lunch.

I have been trying the tasting breakfast and I have found it incredibly good; Not only for the food itself, but also for the views, the setting and the treatment of the waitress.
Everything is very good, well presented and I would definitely go with the idiazabal cheese and foie.
A recommendable experience
If you want a staycation while you are in Palma or you live here you must go. About ten minutes from downtown Palma but you will feel like you took a journey and landed in a calm beautiful luxurious place.
Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, nice spaces to chill and relax. A beautiful pool right on the water, plus a spa with sauna, whirlpool and massages if you book ahead.
The restaurant was gourmet and will not disappoint and the breakfast is truly fantastic.
I f you really want to feel like you have traveled to points beyond get one of the suites on the water, it feels like you are on a cruise ship and all you see is the sparkling Mediterranean out your window! Check their website for special offers, they have great deals.

Beautiful hotel, great accomodations and service. I highly recommend this hotel for a honeymoon or a romantic get away. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because you have to request the incredible 3 hour breakfast in advance- they would not accommodate us, even when mentioning it was my honeymoon. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time.

The best snack in the world. It's a three hour snack where you will be served tasting dishes and the waiter tells you what it is made of and what properties it has.
12 dishes, most of them sweet, to have a relaxing afternoon snack in a very relaxing place and with stunning views. The waiter very attentive and kind.
I made a reservation for the Hotel Hospes Maricel which, unfortunately, we were forced to cancel at the last minute, and I can only have good words for the treatment received by the Hotel. In particular, special mention to Alexandra Tola (the Revenue Manager), who in an absolutely diligent, kind, cordial and with extraordinary speed, attended to our cancellation request and everything was easy for the cancellation and refund of the money without putting any fault. In the middle of 2020, with the current times of receiving widespread poor service from large companies and establishments, the good things of those companies, and especially people, who do things well must be highlighted. Without a doubt, when we can make a reservation again, it will be at this Hotel.

We booked one of the few balcony rooms in the "old" house as a spontaneous spa holiday over the weekend. For around a thousand euros the night is offered here little. Nails stand out of the decking, the air conditioning is loud, the TV is not programmed, no parasol on the terrace. The room, especially the bathroom, have generally seen better times. The acclaimed breakfast is more or less convenience. The service seems altogether more effort. The hotel shuttle is only available with a long wait. We preferred to call "Taxi Calvia", which the concierge did not like. The location fits, the price absolutely not. Here is promised a lot and kept little. Impersonal and a handwriting of the management is missing completely. We certainly will not be back. There are significantly more charming alternatives. Classic flop after reading the other reviews. The hype in the network, I can not understand.

A 7-course brunch on a beautiful Friday morning, sun reflecting in the sea, just an amazing location... and the service is impeccable, the food very innovative and tasteful... just wanted to stay for the rest of the day.

After a week in November, we leave the Hospes Maricel with mixed feelings. Basically, we can only confirm the points of criticism made in the previous reviews (we spent the nights in the "new building", which is on the opposite side of the street and can be reached through a tunnel:
Criticism:
- Rooms are far too noisy (you can constantly hear water pipes, street noise, cleaning service)
- Breakfast / food and service are far too expensive for the service / quality provided (33 EUR for breakfast per person, 14 EUR per day for a parking space, approx. 130 EUR for a sports massage, 60 EUR for washing 3 shirts and one Pants ..., drinks and dinner, etc.) there are various alternatives down the street such as the Fibonacci for breakfast on Avinguda de Joan Miro)
- the "fitness" area felt like 3 machines
- the infinity pool is quite cold (although that is of course a matter of taste)
- one night we had water damage in the room, it took the technician to solve the problem - an excuse such as a "drink" for free - there was no for this (no 5 star treatment) The entire structure of the "new building" does not appear very much solid (e.g. toilet paper holder falls from the wall, etc.) and has more of the atmosphere of a conference center.
Praise:
- the location is quite advantageous. All beautiful corners of the island are easy to reach by car
- the bed / mattress was very comfortable
- the staff makes an effort
- the terrace of the main house is atmospheric
Conclusion:
Despite the criticisms we spent a great vacation.
This hotel is beyond amazing! The building is exceptionally maintained and very romantic. An infinity pool overlooks the ocean where you can order pool side lunch, cocktails or rent a paddle board. The breakfast buffet and made to order items were top notch. Staff was very friendly and everyone on the team made sure we had what we needed and were enjoying our time. They also have other hotels in Spain! Would definitely stay here again!

I've been having brunch at the hotel. The hotel is a gem. It already was before the reform. Brunch good but it lasts forever. Much wait between the dishes. Sun and hot on the terrace. It is overwhelming at times. We have been from 9.25 to 13h. Very long. Of. Craved sugar in almost all dishes. Very well crafted or nonetheless

Hospes Maricel is a beautiful, comfortable hotel in an excellent location along the coast. The hotel maintains a historic aesthetic while having modern, very comfortable rooms. The views of the ocean were a highlight for us, whether from our excellent balcony and terrace or from the restaurant area. Restaurants and shops were within walking distance and the staff was polite and helpful. We avoided large tourist crowds by coming in mid-November, and would absolutely stay here again if we make it back to the Palma area.
The brunch has much to wish for nothing recommendable uff !!

This is a five star hotel and with that, has some expectations that need to be met. I have been to many five star hotels and feel like I have an understanding of what those expectations should be.
What Was Great
1) The hotel grounds are stunning
2) The second part of the hotel across the street, accessed through an underground tunnel, was also spectacular
3) The food quality and presentation was excellent
4) The location is ideal. Palma is close and other areas with nice shops, restaurants, marinas are also fairly close by
Opportunities For Improvement
1) The service was very slow. It generally took about 15 to 20 minutes to get a drink from the pool area
2) We stayed in the main building in a newly renovated room with a sea view. Our room had a queen sized bed and only a few rooms throughout the hotel have king sized beds. Our room had space for a king bed and a king bed should be expected
3) The air conditioning in our room didn't work and one of the closet lights kept flickering, which was annoying. We had a maintenance person fix the air conditioning but they didn't fix the lights
4) The in-room coffee maker had a cord too short to plug it in while on the table so you had to boil water on the floor. And the coffee cups don't have handles big enough to fit a finger through. I don't know why someone would make or order these cups.
5) The staff say that it takes up to 40 minutes to get a taxi. The staff encouraged you to book their shuttle into town for 6 /pp. But taxis are actually easy to get and far more cost effective
6) We requested a late check out the night before. The desk said no problem because no one had booked our room the next day. We reconfirmed in the morning and the desk said no because there was a big group coming in and they needed our room. They wanted to charge us extra for a couple of hours
Overall, it is not just the grounds that give a hotel its stars. I expected better service from a five star hotel. I ended up leaving feeling like I was not a valued guest and the reception staff really didn't want us there.

Gorgeous terrace in the sun with fab sea views. Food presentation is amazing although flavour was slightly disappointing. The waitress was lovely but the male server (named Darwin I think) was slightly rude, which was a shame. Would still recommend at the moment as most places are closed and it's a very luxurious experience.
Excellent treatment, as in all the Hospes I have been to. To highlight, its pool and private beach. Breakfast also highly recommended.
Not for nothing was it listed twice as the best breakfast in the world !!
