Went first time for appointment, the staff didn’t know that the dept I was looking for was 15 feet to their right!! One woman was telling me “It’s on the first floor…” They eventually got it together and one woman said, “Neurosurgery, it’s right next door….” Are they doing on purpose? then they told me my appointment was not that day but the 21st. they gave me the wrong date. and did not cancel. So I went home, then today, they called again to cancel tomorrow’s new appointment—August 11. I have to say, there is a bad aura with this hospital. No one is perfect, but when an employee doesn’t know the department you are looking for is 15 feet away, something is very wrong.

OK not sure about the Emergancy area but i had the best experience you could wish for. I had Mohs sergery done and reading reviews, on top of being an anglophone, i was ready for a bit of a struggle. I experienced the nicest staff that where very helpful Especially when the heard me struggle in french. So don't listen to the media and complaints about language issues. At least in the section i was it was excellent.
The best hospital ever! And this, at the level of nursing as well as medical. They saved my vision in my right eye and I am forever grateful to them for the speed, efficiency and skill that the staff has shown.
It is midnight, I went to the sorting room and I am still waiting (since 13h) for test results durine for a child of 3 years. Lack of respect and condescendande attitude. "We do not answer him," said a doctor from the hospital team of the G. SERVICE EXCECRABLE. I do not recommend it. An elderly woman, who complains too, in a wheelchair has been waiting since 18h.
The staff are getting a little bit of your life and problems ... you can tell them that you're dying, they're getting pissed off. I understand that you are busy and that you too have a life, but it seems to me that empathy exists? Worst hospital eveeeer
Probably one of the worst hospital in Montreal went there a few times and everytime I was either for to wait for hours even though there was little patients waiting at the ER or sent back home cause they had to many people. The staff doesn't care about helping you and the service given is horrible they are so rude and unorganised.
My nephew had a convulsion because of the fever that we had to discover ONLY when he went to the hospital they took a sample of his urine and they DIDN'T EVEN TAKE THE PENALTY TO ANALIZE it waited 6 hours to have a conclusion that we had already, just out of the hospital he had another convulsion we had to go to St Justine which is by far the best hospital for children I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU HAVE A CHILD, INCOMPETENT DOCTOR !!!!!!! He FAILED TO STAY ACAUSE OF THOSE INCOMPETENT
In ophthalmology appointments Its all nonsense THERE IS NO APPOINTMENT GO WAIT AND WAIT AND AGAIN I HAVE DONE 8 TIMES THAT I AM GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT ITS ALWAYS FROM 3 TO 6 HOURS TO WAIT ITS CRISIS OF HIS TAX PAYER
The experience I've had at this hospital is nothing less than stellar. My Mother has been seeing various doctors for all of her serious medical needs here since the beginning of 2019. She was operated on twice and had a long hospital stay of 5 weeks. Her doctors (Dr. Ghali, Dr. Gertin, Dr. Montreuil, the resident doctors) the nurses (Pamela, Karine, Naima, Djian, Sebastien) and the orderlies (Edeline, Myriam and many more!) were very attentive and professional and caring. What more can one ask of in a system that is short-staffed and overworked? I feel very grateful as my Mother does. Nothing is perfect, however, I would highly recommend this hospital. My only grievance is for all the times I've been to the hospital, the parking rates really added up.
Never take a semi private room, if you have to give birth at this hospital take a private room even if it is expensive, semi private rooms cost almost $ 100 Per day, no air conditioning, the space is too small and divided by curtains, the accompanying person's chair does not fit next to the bed, there is no shower (3 day without showering)
More than that you will find no one by I filed a request for radio for the liver, three years later I receive a phone and an envelope the same week to ask me if I'm still interested in this famous radio, I said yes and complete the form, we are July 2019, still no answer. Eight years for a radio that will never see the light of day. it's all about service, that's how it's known in Quebec.
I have never seen a place like this, we spent 2 days 1 night in the hospital urgently .... the nurse and attendant have foul language. We arrived with a person with a serious mental disorder who did not even remember his family for the next day, that is to say that it is better to return to his country by the psychiatrist ... he labas his boss whether nurse or attendant he decides on their laws and how he will treat you. We are better served at Mcdonald!
I waited 23 hours with an open fracture before seeing a doctor this winter. My daughter had an appointment at 8ham for his frature of the arm, at 14h the doctor swayed my daughter, and it is necessary to repeat the operation. My 5 year old daughter has not eaten since 6ham. It is fantastic to have access to a hospital service and a service charge covered by our government, but the organization resembles an old raft with no sail in the middle of the Pacific.
For the appointment it was a nightmare. I have been postponed several times and I am not the only one speaking with other patients. On the other hand, my surgery and the service thereafter was number 1 with Dr. Boulos in eyelid surgery! Super surgery. Then when I had questions the nurse on the phone gave me great service too and on several occasions.
Good service. Don t know why there are some comments from anglos saying that you won t be served in English, try going Ontario or any anglo province in Canada and try to be served in French to see if you will find anybody in this bilingual country who can served you in french in a hospital out of Quebec. Good service overall.
I send my information for a CT scan, 3 months after I call for a follow-up, I am told it is missing the phone number to my dosiser? Huuuh ??? 4 months later I receive a letter saying that they tried to join me without success (I never had a call). I leave 2 messages before someone reminds me ... 2 weeks later ... I'm still waiting 1 month to be called by saying: There is too much waiting (Oh! Serious? I'm just 8 and a half months away ... I'm transferring your request to RadiologiX Today, I'm going to RadiologiX, who tell me: "Why this hospital has given you to us, we do not have CT Scan !!! "Almost 1 year of lost, a big naughty fat !!! But what incompetence!
Really an unacceptable service, my GP referred to this emergency hospital, for a problem of ophthalmology, arrived on site I was shocked by the receptionist who refused to treat my file according to her by what I am not in the patients' post zone ??? I ask the question why this profiling ???? she went to see the doctor then she returned to tell me that the doctor refuses to give the care that I do not live in the neighborhood and that we must go to boyfriend. A very serious and dangerous situation for anyone who shows up
Excellent follow up. The staff do what they can with the means on board. Once in their files, you are guaranteed to be taken care of. Thank you to the entire urology team.
You really have incompetent staff. There is a lady at post # 3632 who was really rude to me, I think her name is Manon Redeste. Today when I wanted to make a date, I asked to repeat a word to me because I did not understand it. But she told me no and hung up the phone. It s really irresponsible of you, I felt insulted. In previous calls she spoke with me in a high tone and didn't answer when I tried to call her again. While I just wanted to make an appointment Please take action, if you want to have a reputation anyway.
Nurses who took care of me during my stay of 5 days are of an unparalleled kindness. They are ultra competent, they are smiling, diligent, accomodating, patient and attentive to my needs. They took care of me as I could not do it myself. I feel tremendous gratitude to them, as well as the doctors and other specialists who treated me. thank you to exist
I had to almost die in the waiting room before anyone would help me. Thankfully a passing paramedic had enough sense to rescue me. I'm not sure what's wrong with the staff here, but they are not happy. The nurse at the triage was the worst. She brushed me off as if nothing was wrong with me.
To date for my mother's pancreatitis: 9 days of hospitalization including 3 nights in the corridor, 2 operations postponed and has been fasting for 18 hours for a scan which was to take place several hours ago. It's not pancreatitis that's going to kill my mom, it's this hospital. To avoid
In ER I did blood test and waiting for 2.5 hours for the result. No one can imagine what happened, the nurse told me that something was wrong and they lost my blood! I have to take another blood test and wait again. It is 2:59 am. I came in at 15:15 yesterday, until now I only did 2 urine tests and 2 blood tests. I don t when I can see the doctor with my tests results.
Thank you to the neonatal medical team who worked miracles with my wife. They were able to stop my wife's work, which saved her from premature delivery to 27 weeks. The team is welcoming and smiling.
Unfortunately, you cannot put a 0. A service must be given with heart and with professionalism. There, it's as if the doctors and nurses don't give a damn about the world and they have no desire to treat you. Wait 10-12h to be told that you have nothing, but finally we go afterwards to another hospital and we are hospitalized for 2 days.
One of the largest Hospitals in the island of Montreal and possibly Quebec. Worked there shortly as a security guard and saw very well and clearly there level of professionalism and excellence. The staff are knowledgable and friendly and mean this in a civic sense. Do not listen to the negative reviews as these are just low ballers who complain all the time. They have lots of expertise worth considering for medical purposes.
Very bad service. Had an appointment at 1pm and did not get call even after 3pm. Doctors don't know a thing. After all the waiting time they told me they will call me on a next appointment with no answers, terrible.
I had a PET scan (nuclear medicine) on July 20, 2017 and I have nothing but praise to say, I was treated as an important client for them. From the reception I was treated with courtesy, the technicians were very professional and gave me all the information about the test I was going to take, the duration of the test as well as the procedure they were going to follow. All the preparation before taking the SCAN is done in a very relaxed way by wrapping us in warm cutlery in a comfortable chair to the sound of soothing music. Really good ..... if you have to have a PET scan ..... Maisonneuve Rosemont is to be strongly considered.
Worst hospital emergency I have ever been and I travelled a lot around the world in hospitals!! Arrived with my sick child of 3,5 years old with bleeding eye , swollen tonsils 39C fever and ear infection and waited to be seen from 5.30pm and left at 3am as my daughter was getting worse without any estimate or hope that we will ever be seeing by a doctor . There was apparently only one doctor on duty with tons of ambulances coming in! Why not call for extra doctor to come?the receptionist didn t care at all or tried to be helpful even when I asked if she knows another hospital I could take my daughter to. UNACCEPTABLE in this big city of Montreal in 2019!!! I felt like I was in some 3rd world country in the jungle. Disgraceful! And I pay so much tax for this . Shame on you hospital health care ! Shame on you. I am writing this as my husband is driving around to find another hospital at 3am Thursday morning ! 10 hours waiting for nothing
Very ordinary service! Make me take a number and force me to wait an hour in the waiting room only for a simple question if I was in the right place or not, we really take for thick.
I did not wait to see a doctor at the polyclinic! Everything was done very quickly and I had my diagnosis in 30min (as long as I met the doctor) with x-rays thorax and tt
Operated June 13, 2016 for a hysterectomy I am very satisfied with the care received. From the person to the reception through the preoperative department by the anesthetist who really took the time to answer all my questions by the people in the operating room. Finally the nurses of the 4th floor sandrine manon ginette and monique to the maintenance. A big thank you for your humanity and your understanding. On the other hand the other nurses that I had will have to go back because it was not worth much especially the last of the evening which was preparing to inject me a thing and when I asked him it was what she answered me "nothing "I told her" you're going to inject me and you say it's nothing ... well done, "she realized how she had to go and explain to me what it was.
Very poor service received this evening for my 3 month old baby who has a nasty cough and all congestion with a fever of 39.7deg, the first sorting closet sends us to the registration without even checking the state of the baby. It is after 3 hours of waiting in the room, he calls us for a 2nd triage and he realizes that it is a priority but the doctor took 1h30 before he examines him and who decides to have him hospitalized. It s the last time in this place.
I am satisfied with the service again because the emergencies received me well? And in the intensive care too, I have no words to say thank you to the whole team of the center, I am leaving the hospital because my baby was fine I am not the name of all but of in my memory their face and gesture.
We waited 7 hrs with our 2 year old who needed stitches. 7 HRS and then another hour in the doctors office before a dr came to see us. According to them every other person that was there before AND AFTER us had priority over a 2 yr old. On top of it all I'm pregnant and I was in pain. Most of the staff showed that they didn't care and that made me really angry. DO NOT go to this hospital!!!
If I could give zero stars I would. We arrived at around 11pm with an ambulance. Passed triage and here we are 12 hours later without a doctor. In the meantime, a man that clearly had cardiac issues waited for ten hours before passing away of a heart attack right in front of us. Add to that the extremely stressed out, over worked and rude staff, you have the perfect example of why our healthcare system is garbage.
Also want to add that after 17 hours, a doctor told my wife that her dizziness and nausea was just anxiety. My wife insisted to get scanned and an hour later the apologetic doctor came back to tell us it was a brain stroke and said we were right to insist. After 6 hours they sent her home with aspirin. The very next day, she had a second stroke. They kept her under observation for 48 hours and let her go with no advice as to what to expect in terms of therapy and stress management due to shock. They told us that they will call us back for a follow up in one month. One month later I called to be told that her follow up will be in 4 months. We insisted for the follow-up immediately in order to get the Ok to fly her back home to Italy where she immediately got all the care and advice she needed.
The triage nurse provides a service that leaves much to be desired. Lack of compassion, rude, impatient and arrogant are quite the words that come to mind to describe it. A slim woman with dark hair and small lips with red lipstick. If you come across it, I wish you luck. Otherwise, the rest were poor to excellent in quality of service. Honestly, my first visit to the hospital left me with a bitter taste ... only time will tell if it is the hospital that offers poor service or the Quebec health system in general.

Loss of time in the emergency. The ladies at the registration / big lazy information who does not work during their shift, but discuss a lot (23:20) a black girl and another white girl. I will still complain. I do not advise anyone .......
The emergency department is a little long but when the services are set up everything works, the doctors are listening as well as the nurses, I was very satisfied with the care that was given to me
The lack of staff in the emergency at night and at night, wait maybe very long ... 16 hours of waiting before seeing a doctor, 22 hours in the emergency after passing all tests.
I gave birth to my first child at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital in February 2019. I was surprised at the kindness of the nurses and the professionals on site.
However, I am deeply disappointed by the lack of support for breastfeeding. It is too easy to supplement the baby, with the bottle, with artificial milk. This is the best way to botch a desired exclusive breastfeeding.
i went in at 1:30am and left the next morning at 6:00 am & there was only 6 people before me!! for them to tell me that i need to book my own appointment for a ct scan at 8:30am and sent me home..when i called in the morning at 8:30 they told me theyll call me back with the time and date of my appointment....not knowing what i have... finally after finding out what i have the doctor didnt even give me details on what procedures to follow in the mean time untill my surgery just prescribed pain meds and sent a nurse with my prescriptions ! very poor service and when i call the reception at the emergency their so rude with such snoby attitude its unbelievable . they dont even try and help you its as if they just want to get rid of you and dont even take the time to try and understand why your calling.
Unbelievable ! March 20 3:00 am ... 7 patients in the waiting room and now 5 hours that NO patients in the waiting room have been received! Really the best way to discourage patients !!! Is it possible to have more than 1 emergency doctor !!!!! Unbelievable !! Hospital renovated but HORRIBLE customer experience !!! To avoid
This hospital has a major problem. (Listening and leadership) - some doctors do not listen to anything, when we explain our problem and symptoms. They already have an idea without even listening.
- In the emergency room, there is sometimes a pre-sorting done by a nurse. No listening. Example: Pain of 10/10 since 12h. I was already in the emergency room yesterday for the same problem. They had to give a very high dose of Dilodine. He (she) simply noted, foot pain. It took an hour to re-train and re-explain the problem. In the meantime my pain was very strong 10/10.
- There is a flagrant lack of leadership. For files that require interaction between various services, no one will follow the requests and needs, in order to move the file forward to find a solution. The doctor of the specialty x, just said, for me everything is good, but after no directive, or track to guide the file to a solution. The patient's file will only be treated point by point and not in an overall view.
- An obvious overload of effects.
But it is also important to mention that there are also some great nurses and doctors (it's even the vast majority), who listen and do their best to relieve the patients, but unfortunately the negative points mentioned above. strongly impacts the whole work.
MAJ: a year later I'm still in the same situation. I come to the emergency room for pain, I am taken 4 hours after minimum. I stay one night and despite the pains that are still there they give me leave and I have to do the same thing again 1 week later. If I can afford and I will allow myself after 3 years of this treatment you are really fat dummies. Pitiful service and we make fun of some developing countries ah ah ah.
one of the worst hospitals i have ever been to.My small baby had a fever of 38.9 we rushed to this hospital at 1.30 am as it was close to where we live. The worst mistake I ever did! First of all the triage nurse was acting as if she More
We waited for 2 nights without any result the person we accompanied definitely needed surgery by a doctor. Despite all no results and the staff keep telling us that its will not be long except that the staff had said during the 5th hour spent in this mediocre hospital. Finally switching to a private clinic was the best thing we thought of in this poor environment. They tell us to wait and at the end tell us it was not an emergency. I made this comment throughout my two nights and ultimately no serious concerns. HAVE THE PHYSICIANS I TELL YOU THAT COMMUNICATION EXISTS AND YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR PATIENTS !!!!!!
Frankly my experience in this emergency was flat because I wait in the room they call me they tell me that its too urgent pa so we will put me an appointment at the polyclinic and the ace at the reception they tell me that it has more room frankly I do not recommend
After waiting for hours in the waiting room, I had to wait again for an hour in the consultation room. She left after 3mins telling me she will give me tylenol for constant repeating headaches.
Do not go there, worst experience of my life !! There is only ONE doctor for an entire emergency room, and around midnight there is no doctor available and no one is called! The waiting time is at least 12-15 hours! It's absurd. Where are our taxes going?
My wife was at another hospital for blood loss during pregnancy she was hospitalized for ca. And she continued to have a big loss at 29 weeks. So transferred urgently to Maisonneuve Hospital. She stays in a room of hours without seeing a doctor. In spite of its state, it was pressed several times on the alert button and no response.
Imagine this, 9 month old baby crying none stop for not being able to pee from 5pm till next morning. Sitting here at the emergency and no one seemed to care. When questioned, there is only one DR. Seriously one Dr.? Why so many nurses sitting and chatting with cold booded hearts and 1 Dr.? This is where my tax money is going? Quebec is a tax vacuum sucker. Ive spoken to elderly people who have been sitting there for 16hrs. Really? Shame on you. I am left speechless. Even I'm paying for it and you call it free health care well i dont want it. Give me my money back.
Hip surgery of my spouse well done, but problem of tranquility in the rooms of the system, between the nurses and the attendants to the recipient with an inter-like that starts at 7:00 in the morning and ends at 19:30 so not easy to take better and rest.
I waited 6 hours without seeing a doctor and it cost me $ 20 parking. To say that half of my taxes are used to: D Living free Quebec, I will have at least a hospital bracelet: D I give 3 stars for the buxom security agents! ;-) WOW
A warm hug has Dr.Sophie mottard who operated my ankle for a sarcoma, (big as an egg) a success, my foot works well in everyday life but must be careful, it's peoplefont a fantastic work, real superhero and gives us all the support required, i had great services at all levels. Thank you very much very much, a great multi-disciplinary team
I had a problem with this hospital, the operation that led to nothing, half of follow, know to demender or was graduated their doctor, or rather their ophthalom.
I went to the emergency unit of this hospital and it was the most horrible experience. Not only were the workers/nurses extremely rude, but also after waiting 4+ hours in the doctors room to be examined, no doctor ever came. Extremely disappointed with this hospital and would NOT recommend anyone go to it, especially if it's an emergency.
