As an Anglo who speaks little or no French, I was treated with respect and kindness. Everyone did their best to serve me in my mother tongue. No one failed. Thank you, You are the BEST of what the hospital system says in Quebec and how we as a bi-lingual society cares for everyone. Do not be discouraged by a few bad apples who make noise..
Waited at the hospital for several hours due to terrible abdominal pain. I have a medical condition which is has a risk of torsion. Apparently, it was not urgent enough; there was an estimate of 10 hrs to see a doctor even after the wait. Had difficulty at the hospital as everything was in French, could not properly talk about my symptoms and conditions due to communication.
All the time i have been served at this hospital from the nurses to the doctors even the volunteers. Everyone maded sure i was as confortable as i could. A really 5 stars Hospital.
WORST HOSPITAL IN MONTREAL EVER. The nurses are very arrogant, speak poorly to the patients, WORSE to the elderly. Real incompetent 20Heures of expectations to see 1 doctor at 8h at the end of weeks. Very disappointed .. pity for people who suffer during this time mentally and physically. To work
They told me that they will call me to make an appointment to test to see if my condition is bad ... It's been 8 months now and no call. I called once a week for 8 months (so more than 30 times in all), at all possible times of the day. Could not join the department in question. What do I do during this time? I'm dying?
3 hours of waiting for a consultation which lasts 5 minutes. Patients who arrive after me come before me when I have been waiting 2 ~ 3 hours. I ask the nurse why patients who have been waiting for 5 minutes pass before me when it's been 3 hours that I wait and she just said to me "the doctor takes the documents at random" (besides that he arrived it s frustrating to wait so long seriously
My spouse who gave birth to the premature twins, was forced to leave the hospital (without accommodation) before 72 hours after giving birth and take the children away. Our home is located 650km from hospital. It's not human, Mrs. Alexandra assistant head of 7etage and Mrs. Helaine social worker hospital. On the other hand, a big thank you to the neonatalogy team. Very gentie and professional. Thank you
Pleasantly surprised at the welcome and eagerness of the staff to help me having difficulty walking. The technician (Mr. Blier) who gave me the first part of the exam was really nice and afterwards, Dr. Khairallah, neurologist, followed me after the tests. A warm, professional and emphatic doctor who took the time to listen to me. A big thank you to all of you.
I have no words for the experience thus far; my daughter is 11 weeks pregnant and spotting, suffice to say how nerve wracking and distressing the situation is to begin with, it's now 3 hours that we are here and of course I'm not insinuating that this is long, as there are people here who have been waiting for 6 hour plus. The triage was quick as was the blood tests and urine test . I understand the results take time but what just appalled me is what the nurse answered my daughter after she advised her pain has increased. It's already a ridiculous question to ask someone to rate their pain on 1 to ten scale but that's the way it's done. So my daughter said ten , now pregnant and all the nurse answered my daughter " even if I was to stick a knife in your belly your pain wouldn't be ten". How cold and disturbing of a thought or comment. This is obviously an abusive and aggressive person . Unstable in her thoughts . Left me with an eerie feeling. Just sick!! This person does not belong in a health care system.
I just came back after waiting almost 5 hours -didn t see a doctor was in so much pain and had my newborn at home. I had one kind nurse but tjs other two I saw treated me like filth - they are rude , disrespectful and basically do not Want to help You if you speak English/ no matter how gentle and kind I was they spoke to Me Loud Rude and just disgusting for not Speaking French. The security guard sent me On a goose chase looking for the triage room when he knew exactly where it was because I spoke English. I left bawling in tears, in pain and In sadness. Although I can manage day to day in French certain medical Terms I do not Know and would feel Much better If I can express my pain in English. This is devastating.
I gave birth in this hospital to my first child and the professionalism and dedication of each professional involved in my stay was only perfect, reassuring. I was able to benefit from many of their very good advice and they knew how to put me at ease in a moment of complete stranger to us.
I was so worried when I read all these comments, negative I injured my finger on the nail with an iron bar in a fairly violent way. The pain is intense and I was afraid for my finger, some people stayed more than 10 More
Hospital which is clearly managed by a money manager and money staff. No sympathy the triage is done on a basis that if you do not say 10 to your pain level you will not pass before 1pm. You could collapse there that he would tamp you down with the broom.
Very disappointed. I have been going to this hospital for years. My 65-year-old mother's knee tripled. Is followed in clinical research for lung cancer. We ask questions kindly after 4:30 of waiting, girl triage dumb without professionalism. We will go back to esti for common sense in this health system where people are far from human. If you do not like your job and you are not able to keep a minimum of joy stp changes job
Worst hospital in the region. I had an accident several years ago [a car picked me up on a bicycle] which resulted in head trauma / concussion [I was unconscious for 3 ~ 4 hours]. Well, as soon as I woke up, I was sent home without any long-term medical follow-up [which they would have expected to do according to what my psychiatrist & other medical specialists have told me recently]. My symptoms did not appear until much later without my having the support requested and required. Without support, follow-up or medical support, I continued my life [studies & work] until my symptoms took a huge gain last year which forced me to stop work.
I even have a friend whose sick father was operated on and barely finished and still comatose under general anesthesia and in a hospital gown, he was seated in the hallway on the chairs [there or people can wait for taxis and so on.] and then called my friend to pick him up.
No! My mother has been waiting in the emergency room for over 11 hours and she still hasn't seen a doctor. She is very weak and severely dehydrated, but nothing ... Finally, she saw the doctor after spending more than 12 hours in the emergency room. Without having even questioned her, he told her that she should not have gone to the emergency room ... What other options did she have? die at home? Calling on a rebrancher? Finally, after examining her, he placed her in solitary confinement, as it might be contagious. I hope it is not, because otherwise it may have contaminated the people who were in the waiting room during the 12 hours she spent there! I have no idea the name of the doctor who saw her, because he didn't bother to introduce himself ... The new emergency building has just been opened (since the day before, May 24, 2017): I don't know what it looks like if there isn't better service. Maybe the employees are more comfortable? I have known the emergency department of Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital for over 40 years, because my mother worked at HMR from 1977 to 2012. The emergency has always been overwhelmed ... Two members of my family died at this hospital and yesterday I thought it could also happen to my mother ... In the future, I will do my best to never set foot in this emergency of hell ! In the brand new emergency room, it is already planned that there will be patients in the corridor, since brand new stretchers are installed there: great comfort for the patients who must stay under the neon lights! It took more than 3 years for the emergency building to be renovated at a price of more than $ 100 million, but the "temporary" entrance, completely worn, is still in use, the toilets in the waiting room were not working (after a day of operation), the seats are still as uncomfortable and the employees as indifferent. A true corporate culture that does not change despite the passing decades ... I would like to believe that in the future, employees receive training to be more attentive to the sick and less indifferent: my mother was on the verge of fainting and anyone who saw her could see that it was not going to be well ... There is nobody from the staff who came to look in the waiting room to try to assess if there were people who needed help: fifteen years ago, one patient died in the HMR waiting room because no one had looked after her. HMR really does not learn lessons from the past and since the methods do not change, it would not surprise me that it happens again. Whoever does not learn lessons from history is condemned to repeat it. And HERE, it applies very well, unfortunately. Lonely people waiting in the emergency room are really to be pitied, because even when they try to get service by talking to an employee, we don't answer them ... The worst case I saw yesterday is a lady in a wheelchair who spoke to the security guard and a maintenance employee to ask them if someone could change his diaper and who was once told "it's not me, I don't know not who can help you "(the employee left) and another time was answered" you would have to go see the nurse "(when she could not move) and then was done say "it's a beneficiary attendant who does that" ... At no time did someone come to see her. Advice: if you are forced to go to this emergency do not go alone and / or prepare to make a big show of screams and tears, because the patients are seen quickly if they freak out . My mother was too weak to put on a show, however it would have been useful! 24 hours after entering the emergency room, my mother is now in an isolated room. She would have preferred that young person not speak about her experience, but I am too indignant to be silent ...
Breathing difficulties, pneumonia which gets worse despite the antibiotics, tension of 162/100 while I am 7 months pregnant, I spit bloody mucus ... I am put in last priority, and next to that guys who cough a little and wear like charms with their little pharyngitis pass before me, it makes no sense of squeak! After 7 hours without being taken care of, I ended up going home because if I have to die I like it as much in my bed surrounded by my husband and my daughter as alone on an uncomfortable seat d urgency in the most total indifference. It is the last time that I set foot there because it is the same every time. When we came with our daughter who had 1 month 39.5 of fever, completely lethargic and who refused to drink we had waited 11h they had also put us in last priority ... Frankly it is better to spend the night in the comfort of your home with just as much risk of not surviving the night since anyway you are not taken care of in this emergency. We are left to die in the waiting room. It is better to wait until morning and go see your family doctor who then refers us to the hospital and there, weirdly, we are taken right away ...
NB: the rest of the hospital, however, is 5 stars (surprisingly, this glaring difference between the rest of the hospital, which is A1, and emergencies where you can die without anyone caring)
Nephrology and oncology are well represented in this hospital. Attention to detail and listening give the patient the assurance of quality treatment. Their research center, located in the basement, suffers a little and more collaboration between the units would be appropriate.
For some nurse in the emergency it's a big 0 lack of politeness, lack of judgment, brewing your feet like rotten fish or saying that the causes of you coming to the hospital is nothing when it is the opposite c '' is totally unacceptable to be treated began especially when one is ill who has nothing else for you however in the brief hospital unit the staff is really nice and skills with patients for my part
The ophthalmology clininc lacks respect for its patiants letting people waiting for hours and hours! They are for sure understaff in terms of doctors. Appointment at 1:30pm an at 4pm i was call for the triagging! I am not sure what time they the doctor will call me.
The issue is that they forget people have other appointments to go, like picking up the kids at the daycare!
This was not the first time here! Every time is the same. First time i came i arrived at 10am and i was called at 3pm! It a lack of respect with people.
Security guard Micheal has no compassion. He definitely should not work with the sick. Very arrogant and really unprofessional. Give a very bad image of the hospital!
Worst service I have seen in a hospital, no respect for customers. I asked a simple question that my pharmacist recommended to ask them, they told me that I was stupid to believe that and they immediately hung up on me.
9ham emergency department very very fast for an extreme sore throat and fever. Quick to sort and quick to consult. By cons very poor communication between secretaries, nurses and doctor. A lot of misunderstanding in my case that day nothing serious but hey it wastes everyone's time when things are poorly communicated and unclear.
Follow-up of an operation, no telephone response for post-operation questions (line cut to the nose, line transfer and not taking responsibility). Meet at 1:30 p.m. wait 3 hours.
The telephone system is rotten. HMR can call me but don't try the opposite! you will NEVER get there! Never seen so many floor workers yelling at each other like this. In front of you. Unsightly. I was hospitalized for 4 days and saw only one cleaning attendant ONLY once for the floor and the toilet. Before you are hospitalized, count your white blood cells .... they will be very busy ....
really disappointed with this hospital the evening team has urgency, really arrogant, rude there are some who have no place in laddans job change it does not suit you .m not able to ask a question without this revive board enough solid we waited 2 hours for a prescription and not to mention the world waiting for hours and hours in the waiting room we would have to be patient without telling them a word they just think about them do not think about the poor world who are the one since 36 hours to wait before seeing the doctor fatigue installs for everyone.they want to be treated as the world but they respect patients also giving giving .I do not put all the blame on the personal there is some are more humane than others. but the evening team is really disappointing no manner of respect, arrogant, enraged. it's not the fault of the patients I would make you notice the conditions that you live, the patients also pay the price.
wait 8 hours with a hole in the belly of my son. and sitting in very uncomfortable chairs is a shame for our health system. and no display a person is screaming the names of the people in our ears. Very disapointed . I go home.
I have a bad history with this hospital. My mother died there in 2012, in 2016 I waited several hours in the emergency room and the doctor was never present in the office. But the worst part is that my aunt almost died last year after catching bacteria (she was in remission from an operation). To avoid...
Really slow service 10h of wait time twice in the same week not normal at least the second time they opened a screen where they mentioned wait time would be 10h, first time no information on display. I think the system could be more efficient.
I want to warmly thank the nurses of the sampling center. I have a phobia of taking blood and I often faint when I do. I have been diagnosed this year with a condition that often requires me to draw blood ... And each time I am greeted with great respect and gentleness. Thank you for your kindness and kindness that soothe me during moments that may seem trivial for some but for me a real challenge. I do not think there is enough emphasis on your exemplary work and I am grateful.
I was treated for Acute Myeloid Leukemia at this hospital (AML). They had an experimental program (haploidentical transplant) that allowed me to receive stem cells from my 70 year old mother. I had no other donner available to me including my brother. The transplant was successful as I am writing this note 6 years post transplant. All the staff was exceedingly professional, attentive and knowledgeable about their functions. The hospital is clean, they respect their standards and are forthcoming with their procedures. A stark contrast with the Jewish General as I spent time there as well. Dr. Denis Claude Roy was my phyisican and the director of research. He was with me every step of the way and expedited my every need, test and examination. This hospital is world class.
It's worth paying $ 20 for a consultation trust me. The urgency is not worth the detour and it leaves something to be desired. The nurses at the yards are cruelly lacking empathy - beast - never smiling, even if it would be 18h that it is there, this job should be entrusted to women who have heart. Then the HMR emergency physician is mistaken for diagnosis, you are just a number and the next one. I prefer to pay for a consultation or to take another 30 min drive even in pain to go to another hospital rather than go there. So that means everything ..
Department of ophthalmology (rotten service) !!!! I had to send my request for consultation 4 times and was told every time that I had never received my request (even if I had the confirmation of receipt). We take patients for fools!
One of the worst, if not the worst hospital. Sadly my father was brought to emergency there several times and he died there. We watched over him in emergency and intensive care 24 hours a day. He was allergic to tomatoes, dairy, eggs. He could not chew. What did the give him for breakfast toast, tomatoes juice, scrambled eggs and tomatoes juice. He had a massive allergic reaction, crying in pain. What did they tell me.. Can you keep his voice down!!!! When he died they were rushing to get him out of emergency and he had not passed away two hours and they were asking for his medicare card back. !! My mother was also treated there and it was the worst place for her as well. When visiting hours were over, security told me to leave and I told them I am not leaving my father here. Family is not part of the care in this place. I had a nurses who refused to speak to my father in English. He was paralyzed. and could not longer speak!!! There were two great nurses and an orderly but when they were not around I worried ALOT!!! Be tough and know your rights and patience rights.
Worst Hospital ever seen !!! 15 hour waiting and i never go !!! I squealed my camp after 15 hours Without news, not even a small Follow is worthy of a VRAIX JOKE !! Their sorting system at the CON and with the ambulances that have just returned! Coliss of the world who do 15 hours waiting !!! In the last 2 hours I spent .. 1 pers. went to see a doctor !! Tuka ... I could do a review of 3 page but I will stay there !!! Worst experience EVER !!!! (Returned at 8:30 am and exit without having a doctor's view at 23h p.m WITH more parking PAYANT)
worst place to give birth!!! On our last day the doctor gave us the all okay to go home at 8am!!! It's now almost 12 pm and still no social worker to allows us to go home!!! We are exsausted we got less then 3 hours of sleep not there fault but still some comapassion would be nice. Last time I come here!!!
My wife is returning to the emergency hospital for a spontaneous rupture of the placinta .4 days after not even an ultrasound has been done. My partner was crying in pain and the nurses only said that she wanted to go to the toilet results my wife to give birth to 29 weeks while the nurses persisted in saying that was a envy of poo not contractions . Worst nurses in the world.
Don't EVER go there if you are suicidal. DON'T GO THERE. If you finally meet a doctor, they'll send you home and they'll tell you to take a walk. Seriously, I'm curious to see how many people have killed themselves after going to this hospital for a suicidal crisis. Their head psychiatrist is also very judgmental and unprofessional, making judgments about your appeareance. He just wants to give you pills and don't really want you to talk, he seems sooooo annoyed if you don't really know the exact reason for you depression. This is the worst place to go if you're in a crisis.
Some doctors are really great and the nurses are smiling despite their work load. The intensive care team was very professional and did an exceptional job with my father.
A truly exceptional service from all nurses. Huge thanks to Dr. Yuh a neurosurgeon very very human and professional. All the neurosurgery team I say THANKS you.
