I did the intensive 5 week CELTA course from February to March. The experienced tutors, Dan and Meaghan were extremely friendly, supportive and helpful, and so were my peers. While it was stressful, the course was extremely useful as we could dive straight into the practicum of teaching and learning from feedback provided by peers and tutors as well as from input sessions. It was an amazing and insightful experience. If you're considering doing CELTA, I recommend doing it at Holmesglen.

Worst place to study. They will keep on failing you to fetch extra income because at the end of the day It's all about money. This college has low fees but will fail you to get extra money whereas other Uni's have already high fees. In either ways study gonna cost you heaps of dollars and will ultimately put you in debt.

The instructors and admin for my Agents Representative License were experienced in both the real estate and education industries and provided a smooth experience from start to finish. I often recommend this course to others.

Overall good TAFE.. But some of their Asian teachers especially in the student support area are not fit .. they are utilising their position for critisizing the students.. is that constructive criticism? The management is not aware of this or pretending?

Very dodgee. We studied as part of NEIS course and its a rip off to the Gov of Education. Didnt have resources, literally had no classes and no exams. Still waiting for my certificate. Would not recommend this 'Institute' to anyone.

Dont believe all the marketing hype when they don't even have a convenient enrolment and fee payment option. Was keen to enrol at the st kilda campus but I have to get out to chadstone to do the enrolment 'to fill up some forms and make payment'. It's 2016 guys, why can't you make it easier to enrol and pay online or at the st kilda campus??

I have been in Holmesglen since almost 3 years ago. I was happy with my Certificate 3 and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Most teachers there were really supportive and helpful with both knowledge and practices. HOWEVER! I am doing my Bachelor of ECT, and I have to say that I am SO disappointed. 1. There is a huge academical gap between Diploma and Bachelor. No one mentioned it to the students at all (transition issues). 2. I have tried to contact the international department to get academic support and got no respond. Finally, I found there was a teacher in the library to help us (thank god). 3. A few teachers in Bachelor are not helpful and supportive. Their handwriting feedback is impossible to read. Some teachers are working overload to teach 5 units per semester. 4. The bachelor system is not organised at all. 5. The placement is always decided in the last second. And some students end up with the placement unbelievable far away from where they live.

Today (31 May), my course leader had a 1 hour face to face communication with me about all the issues and problems I have had during the past months. I'm glad to have such a positive interaction with her. She also solved the some problems and offered really good advice. With whether go to study in uni or Holmesglen, please confirm with the VIT before you go anywhere.

If I could give 0 stars I would, unorganised Uni, signing off lab books for things we didn't get trained on, no access to time tables. Over priced offer on books and equipment, online learning space just perthetic. Stick with the big name unis at lest they know what they are doing.

I enrolled in the cert 4 woodworking at the chadstone campus at the start of 2016. The enrollment process was a little slow and inefficient but it didn't bother me too much, prob because everyone was really friendly and welcoming. The teacher was very welcoming, even though he didn't know much about what actually was going to happen (how the course structure was). I assumed we could talk more once the course started. Once the course started it was extremely un-organised and he didn't know the outline of what or how he was going to teach. I never knew what to expect, or how to clarify things. He taught at such different paces with different people that he was basically teaching everyone one on one and I (and others) were waiting long periods for their turn to be taught the next tiny step (cause there was no clear plan or clear handouts). I find this stuff pretty hard (which is why I enrolled into a class and not try and tackle it myself on youtube) and need support, clarity and encouragement along the way... which i didn't get because the teacher was overwhelmed with teaching everyone one on one. When I suggested a plan, he got flustered like he didn't want to put that much effort in teaching. I feel he is an ex-tradie with no teaching experience and wanted a more cruisy way to make an income later in his life. I didn't know who to ask for help or how to learn from this place, so I stopped turning up... and lost my fee. It was a very disappointing experience for me and there were other courses I was interested in doing from there as well but obviously decided against in the end for reasons mentioned above. :(

This is the biggest waste of money that I have ever spent. Signed up for a diploma and all I got were poorly written elearning materials. It was NOT instructor led. At one stage was told to simply read a book that I could have purchased at a normal book shop. That was the module! So far have waited nearly 6 months for my Diploma to be sent. Was told that they did not want to pay for postage !!!! DO NOT use these people.

Holmesglen English is a great program for learning English- with very experienced teachers and a great activities program that takes you out into Melbourne to practice your English in real life, every week. Lots of fun!

As a international student, once you enroll in, NEVER expect any support for your sake. Administration staffs in international center including manager, they just care about their rules, which are not based on any regulations. If you study there, you never get any information about the enrollment condition and tuition fee changes. DO NOT consider this institution unless you have absolutely no choice otherwise you are going to need to take care a lot more things other then studying itself by yourself.

I did the full time Celta course over a five week period at the beginning of the year at the City campus.I found the teachers very friendly, supportive and professional, offering just the right balance of constructive criticism on lessons and assignments to improve your practice and still keep you motivated. Likewise, the library staff were very helpful and the campus was easy to get to, clean and well set up. It was a very intense course so make sure you are prepared to work! Highly recommended.

Dear all, can you please advise me whether holmesglen is a good place to study Bachelor of Education? I am an international student . Please give your reviews about Bachelor of Education degree in holmesglen

*this is a review for the Metro hub not necessarily Holmesglen* For a project that boasts that its going to create between 5,000 to 7,000 jobs and the website sprukes that the place is a "employment hub" you cant get much information out of the place. I didn't go in demanding a job or expecting any special treatment. I just wanted some infomation so I could do my best to progress my career and see what I could do to better my chances of employment on the project. But I was met by a man who didn't really care, probably just there to answer easy questions from the public. After the pretty sour encounter I was harassed by a mentally unstable man across the road from the Metro hub at the tram stop. So that really capped off a great morning.

Terrible!! Very disappointed! THE REVIEWS HERE SAYS IT ALL.
Please excuse my words but I need to bring this out my chest. Been in this institution since mid last year for my Cert 3 Medical Admin and Cert 4 Health Admin. There was a bit of red flags and I ve heard so much negative words and raised eyebrows about this school but I tried to ignore because everyone has different courses, teachers, department etc. I decided to continue for my Diploma mid this year. The reception was a nightmare, gave you outdated timetable and unreliable informations! Ok so passed.

Few weeks ago supposed to be starting my work placement. I am studying Diploma of Practice Management after completing Cert 3 Medical Admin and Cert 4 Health Admin then they send me to a home based business that just started and need so much to be done which I suggest someone proffesional or experienced from marketting not a student like me! How relevant??!! So the business owner was upset because she was given a student who can not help her and not that beneficial to build her business. I can sit down for hours and learn as part of a normal placement. But this placement is terrible! That woman has other part time job to finance her new business so she has no time to sit and coach a student. Why would Holmesglen gave me this kind of placement?

It was already shady when they kept telling the students about how good their educations are and the work pkacements are great and I ll be working with a wonderful woman very nice so everything s gonna be fine. They kept lying!!!!! I feel like it s more on business than providing quality education. The woman just kicked me out from her house and slammed the door on my face!

I fought really hard to get back on my own feet and going back to school was the best thing to help me emotionally, socially etc. After that incident, I lost focus and motivation. Got distracted but hoping Holmesglen would give me a different placement. But none. They don t care. I was told they have no more placement left so I just have to continue with my assessments without having one. Really?? Therefore they gave me that horrible placement because they don t have any left?!

I saved up really hard to pay my course but I think I m not be able to finish it. They just keep lying to your face so you stay. Never! Read reviews first (which I actually did but I did not mind, co z I just could not believe how terrible reviews are but it s true!) All the reviews here are true. Will never recommend to anyone. Even for international students. Make your money worth, time and effort. Not worth it here. Do they even investigate well the supervisors or business for their students to work with for placements? Or they don t care because there s not much wanting to get involve with them?

I was an International student who's first language is English because I am English. I had zero information or help from the international department the entire year I was there and every time I had a query for anything I was told I had to do it through the International department. My complaints grew so much that I eventually got seen to by senior administrators instead.
I was doing an outdoor education course which was very fun but the staff were very poor. Reading from power points, unable to answer questions and unwilling to find the answers or help you find the answers. As a mature student I was spoken down to on a regular basis and still am as I'm waiting for my qualification.
Due to personal reasons at home I fell into a state of depression and was met with total ignorance to my situation or anything like it. I was subsequently ostracized by even my teachers not just students and it facilitated me spiraling further into depression. I've raised these concerns with people since having meetings about not being allowed to continue with my course. The college have since helped me gain my qualification (pending) but have done nothing in the way of actually helping me like they told everyone at the start of the year they were the to do.
This is a terrible institution that gave me little in the way of education and has genuinely set me back months by making me wait 3 months for a reply to emails about finishing my course, during which I had to go to regular counselling sessions to talk about the genuine anguish I was going through with my mental state. I'm still having to exchange emails to correct both my and their mistakes but have to speak to a department head as I again had to wait weeks and weeks for replies to my emails. It has now been 6 months since I left and have received a total of 12 emails in reply to the 74 I have sent, mostly asking for a reply to my previous ones.
DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE....for outdoor education. Although I've had great issues with international and administration departments as well.

I'm glad to say being away from this place I no longer feel like a second class human being.

terrible school, the teachers barely care, the staff are unreliable and don't communicate well. Took them 4 months to tell me i failed. Don't bother asking the teachers for help cause they don't bother.

A complete and utter shamozzle of a school at the city campus!! Computers and printers that don't work and are not serviced because "it costs too much". City campus teachers in advanced diploma of building course refusing to help students. Basically a money grabbing institution that could not give a rats about you once they have your money!! Just don't even bother!
