Hollywood Casino Toledo Review

It's gone downhill from what it was when they opened up for business.

This place is cool but I always leave broke. 3 stars

Visited couple of times small and very close to highway I75 exit 199

We had a delicious meal at the Final Cut restaurant with great service and then lost over $200 in the casino. Not too bad of a night.

Had a bad evening! Nothing was paying out or giving free games!!!

Odds are... they'll take all your money.
But still had fun.

Affordable drinks, superior employees, great entertainment, and (sometimes) loose slots!

I enjoyed this place I won the first time I went but sense then it seems very hard to win..different from casino's I've been to. .They had entertainment new year's eve I enjoyed myself.

I love Hollywood Casino when I travel I love visiting the City of Toledo Ohio just to go and see how they could see no as well as the service the service is fine the people are very very nice in the food is great in the City of Toledo Ohio at Hollywood Casino I really love going there just to visit in enjoyed myself and having a great time in the service this so so good even when you spending the weekend there and I win all the time at Hollywood Casino when I'm there in the City of Toledo Ohio.

I didn't get the incentives that was on the card mailed to me..

I renewed my license for my birthday. I lost my driver license in the mist of my wedding,the day before my birthday. DMV in Ohio mails your license now and give you a piece of paper calling it your temporary I'd. They assured me this is legal and do not need to pay for a duplicate license as this is all I need since it's a picture id. Well the casino wouldn't let me in ruining the very short time I have with my new husband and ruining my birthday. Ive only been twice before and have had good experiences but I will not go back now. Maybe they should post this on their website or at the entrance as to not waste people's time.

They ve made some changes since the last time we were there. It s a no smoking environment, so if you don t smoke, you ll stay longer.

Wish I could've won a little. But overall great casino

I'd like to think of myself as someone pretty well versed when it comes to visiting different casinos, as I have frequented Las Vegas and have played at all 3 in Detroit, Firekeepers & Soaring Eagle in MI., Horseshoe in Cleveland, JACKS in Cincinnati & several in Indiana, Colorado & even Florida. Hollywood Casino, Toledo would have to be on the bottom of this list which is very unfortunate because it's local.

I'm writing this review as being a fair & honest customer of this business. Not looking to slander anything, just looking to bring truthful issues to their attention in hopes that it can be bettered for everyone.

I'll start with the positives as there are a few: (not enough to prevent a 1 star rating though) the building/casino floor is kept clean, nice big, clean restrooms (hey, I'm being fair & it's true!) & the food all around is pretty decent.

We'll start with all of the fees/prices. Nothing is competitively priced & everything has a fee. $5.00 fee for valet (NOT including tip). Has this prevented me from valeting? Not necessarily, but extremely unnecessary as valet service (minus the tip) is complimentary at almost every other casino I've ever been to. Not to mention, the $5.00 valet fee does not ensure that your vehicle will be brought up quickly by any means as the valet booth is typically understaffed.

Moving on... you need to have some cash to play, so let's stop by one of their many inconveniently located ATMs. It seems like they actually have more ATMs located outside of security/off of the casino floor than on it. So if you did need to use the ATM, chances are you'll either wait in a decent line or have to walk passed security at either exit to use the ATM. Oh yeah, well when you find one, the ATM's will hit you with that $5.00 fee again. So now, you are out about $10.00 & you haven't even played yet.

Fair enough, Let's go get a drink! There is only 1 bar here, so chances are you will have to wait in line again & I hope you kept your cash out because you're going to need it! $4.00 bottle domestic, $5.00 draft in a plastic cup & that's about your entry price for any adult beverage (don't think you're getting hard liquor any cheaper). What bothers me is the plastic draft cup... typically if I'm spending $5.00 for a pint, I'd at least like it in a glass. It's like that old saying "if you're going to do me like that, at least take me to dinner first". And they seem to have all of these excuses like, "what if someone drops a glass, or steals them, or whatever". That's the same concerns every bar/restaurant has and it's called "the cost of business" and Hollywood Casino is saying "yes we're being cheap, because we can" with a wink & a smile.

Well, so far we've spent a minimum of $15.00, haven't gambled yet & have a nice refreshing plastic cup of sometimes cold beer. Let's not even waste time with getting a players card. Hollywood, let's face it... the comps are aweful! The slowest, worst comps I can say I've ever seen! You will need to drop some serious serious coin if you think you are going to get a meal (just for 1) comped in a single outing. Being local, I know this. Next, please don't think you're going to earn Freeplay from your Players Card, you will be disappointed. I get emails from casinos I've been to once or twice in my life and have more Freeplay on my card than at Hollywood. It's actually pretty sad & I'm sure those with Players Cards at other casinos & Hollywood know exactly what I'm talking about.

Don't think that the table games will be any better. Blackjack, while always dead, has tons of rookies playing, no-one plays by the book and the side bets (perfect pair for example) pays 15 to 1 whereas MGM Grand Detroit pays 30 to 1!! Why in the world would you place a side bet on something half the value as another casino? Hollywood is banking on people not knowing this and taking advantage of them. Oh yeah, continuous shuffle machines? Seriously? How rigged do you want to play?

I almost broke even for the night. It looks a lot bigger on the outside. Play smart lol.

Fun place to lose your money also have great bands on the weekends

Very tight casino and seems the same people get called for drawings especially one (no names mentioned) that gets called several times a week.

The buffet is good, need a few more choices in vegetables and sides.

This place has something for everyone. Food, entertainment, multiple TVs, and your choice of game. Good to know you can drive 20 minutes to gamble legally as opposed to another city.

Food and service were good, but not special, especially considering the price

The casino is clean and smoke free, but it is a fairly small casino with a generally low energy vibe.

My boyfriend and I stopped at this Casino on the way back from our road trip. After reading all of the reviews, we almost didn't stop at it, because they were so bad! WE read multiple times how loud it was and wanted to see for ourselves just for giggles. The building is gorgeous! We had never heard of it before and was pleasantly surprised. It is non-smoking which is FANTASTIC! One of the reasons we travel all the way to canada is to go to a non-smoking casino. They do have smoking out on the decks for people who really need to. There were a good selection of table games, slots and a poker room. The restaurants sounded great, and we tried the little cafe which had AMAZING ribs. They have free coffee/soda self-serving stations as well. All in all, i thought this was a fantastic little casino. They were relatively busy at 10pm on a sunday night as well, which was impressive!
A must to go see!

As with most Hollywood casinos I think they are overrated and overpriced

Love the Epic Buffet.
Especially when they have alk you can eat lobsters n or crab legs. Yummy

Don't win much but good variety of machine types. Sanitizer and wipes are plentiful.

The wait staff was rude. The machines seldom pay anything.

I don't know any Host. Machines play the same hands. I only receive $15 free play. I think it should be higher. Name never get called for anything. Thank U for Ur time.

Love Hollywood Casino. Great food and selection, easy to maneuver around to all the table games and a great staff throughout.

Much better then Detroit and you can eat in restaurants

Don't go to Hollywood if you like playing Keno. You WON'T win!! I've lost every time for the past ten times we came here. I only come here because my husband wins at pennies.
Came back to see if my luck would change and it did a little, very little. I only play Keno and the only nickels they have is the multi card. No other options. I like playing all the different Keno games, like four card, 369, Cleopatra and some others with nickels. But I can't because Hollywood, unlike some other casinos, don't have any.

Nice place,but its strange all of the free drinking stations were all broken on a Saturday night?!!

It's a nice casino last year I went every weekend after work I live an hour away i only won twice my mindset is it's a casino your not going to win dealers were alright some have additude I won 600 the first time and 500 the other time i got accused of counting cards both times which I dont understand how to do and playing at a all time shuffler this one and Columbus dont want you to win or even keep you there at all the games are way to stacked in the houses favor I go to detroit, the jack in Cleveland, or run up to Canada to play anymore

Four stars for sure. The regular card games I like to play were opened. My wife and I enjoyed them very much.

All you can eat lobster. Delicious, clean, great service, no line at 8pm. Clean casino, nice atmosphere.
