Hollerbach's Willow Tree Review

Was here in Sanford for the 4th of July fireworks festival. I saw this place as I was walking the streets of Sanford. Inside I found a lively restaurant packed with people. On the stage was a entertaining act interacting with the crowd.
The food was amazing. The service was quick even though it was packed. This place is a must visit destination when visiting Sanford.

Whether you are a long-time resident of Sanford or just visiting for the day, no trip is complete without a stop at this long time staple in Historic downtown Sanford. Good quality food at reasonable prices serve and cook traditionally you can't be beat. Authentic German music is provided on certain nights and the atmosphere is a win.

Fun beer garden atmosphere and super tasty food. A lack of German restaurants where I live in southeast Louisiana helps draw me to this place whenever I visit the Orlando area.

Live music, great food and beer! Fun place to eat and celebrate. Sauerbraten is my favorite

The Willow Tree is always great. Good bier and wurst. I feel right at home there. New bar next door to the restaurant is beautiful.

Over hyped. Food was okay but over priced. I get you're paying for the "experience" as well. But the experience wasn't even that good? Had to wait over an hour and a half to get a seat, waited just about an hour to get our food, food also had to be sent back because it was cold. First and last visit. Thanks.

Wow! This place is amazing and as authentic as they come (as far as I can tell). We had the King's Feast (picture uploaded too), which was true to its name. The waiter was super knowledgeable about German cuisine and beer. We had a great experience sitting outside, eating schnitzel, and drinking German beers.

The food is why we come back. Today the schnitzel was excellent. Service was only ok, but pretty much expected. We were charged $2.00 extra for the sauerbraten, menu price versus check price. Our waiter checked it out but was told costs went up and it's too costly to print new menus. The old fashion way of crossing out and noting new price would have been fine but guessing that was too much trouble. Be honest please.

Food, atmosphere and music we're great. Or waiter Antone was the best. We'll definitely be back. Just sorry we had to drive 2 hours to get there

Always an amazing experience. The food, although can be a little greasy is so delicious that you don't mind the extra butter on the vegetable and spatzle. Have never had a bad meal here.

I can't personally say to come for the food since I'm not a fan of German food but the atmosphere is great and the employees are funny and nice. Oh yeah and beer boots. Ja.

Outstanding. Can't remember our servers name but she had fun color hair, has been there for 5 years and was absolutely the very best.
I see people periodically post 1 stars on Willow Tree. This is ridiculous! I have been there when it was mad crowded and busy and the service wasn't on point but the food is still amazing, sometimes people can have a bad day, it's life.
I drive 1.5 hours to have dinner at Willow Tree. We always get there around 6:30 - 7:30 and know we are going to wait at least an hour if not more. We enjoy the beer, the music, and the friends and family we came with! Life is short, enjoy your moments!

This restaurant is amazing. Great German food, great atmosphere, and very friendly wait staff. We had a party of 9 and or server was always on top of our drinks and made sure we were taken care of. The food came out quickly and everything tasted amazing. I would recommend the Willow Tree Cafe to anyone in the area or visiting

Excellent German food. Liked the atmosphere. Missed the live band but they had great older style German language songs etc. Menus are interesting, too.

I spent three months in Austria as an exchange student (high school) under AFS and this place reminded me of those days.

I had Wienner Schnitzel, potato dumplings and bacon sauerkraut. Dessert was apfel struedel. All of it was great. Definitely worth it for a taste of the old country. Just don't forget to order a good German beer with your meal! (Assuming you are of age, of course!)

Absolutely loved having lunch here! I know it's known more for their beer but the cocktails were great as well. Highly recommend the red Ruben sandwich!

Get a giant beer, a giant pretzel, and some sausage. Definitely try the Heaven and Earth potatoes, they're delicious!

Fun & different place. Four dinners. 3 out of 4 meals were good. The Hugh chicken sandwich had apples in and she liked that, but did not care for the taste of the chicken salad. The shrimp pasta was delicious. The staff and service was amazing. They had sing alongs for all to enjoy. We ate outside and the music was loud enough! Band inside. No American beers though. True German place.

Eat there all the time and today was my birthday but I found a pice of glass or plastic in my potato pancakes and the manager acted like I put it in the food, he compt me two beers but still I don't think he believed me..

Super friendly staff. Great service, delicious food. Schnitzel is outstanding. Heaven and earth and red cabbage are my favorite sides. Potato cakes are superb.

The best Barbarian/Southern Germany food on the East Coast of the United States! Great atmosphere, good beers, fun dancing, live band and a lot of smiles. Make sure you stop by.

So, started off with a bit of confusion. Then, it kind of was all about them, not really about me. I didn't really understand what was going on. There were some promises made before hand that never came to be. The night was kind of weird and awkward. And....what's that? Oh, the review is about the restaurant not the date? Oh, my bad. The restaurant was great. Food came out promptly, beer was fantastic. Bartender made sure that my beer paired well with the food. Overall, I give the restaurant a 10/10. Would definitely recommend.

Only complaint would be the smell near the stage, as it had a potent scent of bar vomit.

I guess we sat a minute too long with our beer. By the servers second time around, she didn't ask if we want more or anything else, just offered us the check. Never did bother ordering a snack after that.

The Hollerbachs have created a truly wonderful experience with authentic German food, music, and atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. Friday and Saturday nights book up fast, so make reservations early if you're expecting company from out of town!

We go weekly, the best comfort food in town. They have food, beer and cocktails that will scratch any itch.
