Holiday Inn, Ithaca, NY, US Review

My experience with this hotel began the week before I checked in. Mike, the General Manager was and is AAMAZING! I faxed a Credit Card Auth form before even arriving in Ithaca and he was patient, knowlegable, and pleasant every time I called. I came to Ithaca to celebrate Ithaca College's 125th Anniversary and the Inaugaration of their 9th President, Shirley M. Collado. All of the hotels were booked but thank goodness that the ICAlum held a block of rooms. As much as I have been to Ithaca, I had never stayed at this hotel. I was PLEASANTLY surprised by the hotel and the staff. Let me first talk about the hotel and rooms. The rooms are clean, comfortable, updated and contemporary. Even the bathroom was spacious! I read one of the reviews where someone said that the bed was uncomfortable. Well, I know everyone has their own experiences but I slept like a baby! The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy like you were sleeping on a cloud. Each room has a refrigerator and a Keurig for your convenience......honestly, it is so nice , for this to be a small hotel, that you have a Keurig in your room!!!!!! I LOVE the thought and care that was put into this hotel. The television in your room is mounted, there is plenty of desk space and lighting and USB ports all over the room. The hotel has a nice size pool and fitness center and let me just talk about breakfast. Yes, it is a continental breakfast.....But it was VERY good! they have Omelets, sausage (plain and turkey) cereal, toast, juice , coffee, DELICIOUS little cinnamon buns that they keep HOT AND FRESH at all times and .....wait for it......... a PANCAKE MAKER!!!!!!!!!! The pancakes come out hot and fresh and they are very tasty folks....(can you tell I am a foodie.....lol...sorry its the little things that excite me.....lol) It was just a very nice addition to the complimentary breakfast. Most hotels have that same old waffle maker. Shout out to the Holiday Inn Select and Suites for stepping it up! Lastly, I want to talk about the staff and the Phenomenal customer service that they provided during my stay. Mike, (the GM), Courtney, Melissa and Krista...THANK YOU SO MUCH for your pleasant and personable demeanor and the pride and excitement you all show when you talk about this hotel. I read in a previous review that someone had a problem with lady bugs/beetles in their room. The same thing happened to us but when I called down to the front desk, Melissa was at my door within 10 minutes with the vacuum, vacuumed them up and apologized profusely even though it was really not her fault at all. I appreciate that so much and we did not see anymore beetles through out our stay. My daughter attends IC so I travel here frequently. This will be my hotel!

The pool was closed. Too much chlorine. We booked this hotel so the kids could use the pool. Everything else was nice. Not the best value. I probably wouldn't come here again. Then again, the location was a mile away from Buttermilk Falls. And near many convenient dining options. Meh.

Beautiful, clean room. Comfortable bed. Standard continental breakfast and generally clean bright facilities.

Clean rooms, great service, nice pool. Love the design of the rooms, nice and bright and modern. Will definitely recommend this hotel for our out of town guests. I used to travel a lot for work and this is definitely in my top 5 of hotels I've stayed at.

Great hotel. Courteous staff. Very helpful and professional. Continental breakfast options are fantastic for those with dietary restrictions.

The Pros: Nice clean hotel. Friendly staff Good breakfast. On main strip (NY13) and there are many places to eat and a walmart within 5 minutes. We stayed here because of its proximity to Buttermilk falls(1 minute), Robert H Treman state park (less than 10 minutes) and downtown ithaca (5minutes)

Also cayuga lake was within 10 minutes and watkins glen was about 35 mintues

The cons: the hotel is 10 ft from the road and our room was at the front of the hotel. Buses and semis make quite a bit of noise that light sleepers will struggle to sleep thru.

Location. Close to buttermilk falls, Ithaca beer Co

When you're on the road and far from home, no worries this is the place to go and get your rest. The staff are very kind and helpful

Very nice, clean hotel. Awesome breakfasts with healthy options. No good views regardless of where your room is. However, you are within walking distance of Buttermilk State Park, are about 5 minutes from Robert H Treman State Park, and are about 20 minutes from Taughanock State Park. This is a good base of operations if you are coming to the area for some good hikes.

New and welcoming hotel. The indoor pool is amazing. The free breakfast is decent. Overall impression, would visit again!

Was a good place. Very clean. I mean it's a 3 star hotel it's not a resort. Good to sleep in after a day of hiking.

Modern, professional style and decor. Friendly, competent staff. Some minor annoyances like two of three USB chargers disconnected or unintuitive light switches. Location is right next to downtown Ithaca and all it's amenities.

All new, very clean, beds are comfy & the rooms are spacious.

I don't like the master switches in the bedrooms because it messes everything up. Also, I don't like how not every room has a bathtub. Overall, it's a nice place to stay.

New hotel, horrible staff. Stopped using all IHG properties because of my experience at this hotel.

The service was friendly and professional. I got through to someone right away on the phone to get a room booked for the same day (unlike other properties I called that day; one local property front desk staff transferred me immediately to the national reservations number??) The pool was warm and we had it all to ourselves. The morning breakfast and wifi were free. All totalled, a great visit.

The "suite"i had booked through reservation desk wasnt not a suite.This was a normal room which allowed us to sleep on the.floorThis was a problem with at least 4 different ppl who checked in.The hotel was comping guest pizza and soda for not having the correct rooms good luck....also no response back from either company after the mix up.

This is a nice and clean place. I spent here 2 nights and I liked it here.

Lovely. Clean and modern. Staff are friendly and helpful. Walk right over to one of the many fast food places that are super close..then burn those calories off at Buttermilk Falls which is just a short walk away.

Best Hotel In Ithaca NY!! We absolutely loved our most recent visit to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ithaca!! Amazing staff, super clean and a perfect place for business or leisure. The hotel is great. It is extremely clean, very nice staff, and great location. The fitness room was nice too.

The service was nice as the rooms were clean, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly at our stay. The location was in the middle of the city, which makes it good for many people to enjoy the amenities and the entertainment available. The rooms were big and the hotel atmosphere was inviting.

Room and lunch very satisfactory. S.v.p., front desk employees should have a more ergonomic work counter.

Great stay and very friendly staff! Breakfast buffet was excellent and i took full advantage of the late food and checkout they were promoting. Used the gym and pool which I had to myself. Would definitely stay again.

I got locked out and they wouldn t let me get my stuff. They left it out in the hall the next morning. They wouldn t even let me get my asthma pump. Also, my wallet is missing!

I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in a ling time and was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades they have made in general. I have always typically stayed at Hampton Inns bc I felt they were better, but found my stay her let to be comparable. Location was very convenient to Buttermilk Falls and was only a short drive to Ithaca Commons.

Everything that you would expect from Standard Holiday Inn, comfortable beds, clean rooms and decent continental breakfast.

The rooms are well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful.

This is honestly the nicest Holiday Inn that I have ever seen. It's super modern, super clean, and has an awesome feel to it.

This hotel situated in the best area for Ithaca, 5 minutes to the town, 5 minutes to waterfalls, 5 minutes to supermarkets, 5 minutes to restaurants and lots of POIs!!!

Brand new, and they take care of it very well. The workout room is perfect for a quick sweat and the salt water pool feels great. Better than one can expect from an affordable hotel.

Location was great, right next to buttermilk falls. The rooms were big and the beds were very comfy. The whole hotel was clean and updated. Breakfast was also great. Would definitely stay again.

This is the third time my family has stayed in this particular hotel in Ithaca. It has a prime location because it is about 10 minutes from Cornell. The staff is very friendly, the WiFi is fast, and breakfast is delicious! As always, the Holiday Inn Express was very accommodating of our service dog.

The entire hotel was extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable and relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly my entire stay.

I left an Ipad in the safe and despite Cassidy s (manager) confirmation that the Ipad was found and would be mailed back to me, they never did it. I ve been trying to reach Cassidy for two weeks now without success. Her assistant always says she s not available and she won t answer my emails. The assistant tells me she can t do it herself but always says Cassidy will mailed it the day after. It s been two weeks now! If you go there don t leave anything behind in the safe!

PS: the breakfast cafeteria is packed and there s no social distancing and worst I SAW NO ONE CLEANING THE TABLES THAT WERE BEEN USED CONSECUTIVELY BY SEVERAL GUESTS!!

This is horrific my family comes here to find out that the pool is broken! I don t even know how describe this feeling. I mean the lady at the front desk didn t even tell us. If you want amenities don t come here.

Another great HIE location. It's been a very consistent brand from me throughout my travels. And their signature cinnamon rolls are back.

Excellent rooms with plenty of space, clean bathrooms and accommodations, and the free morning breakfast was well stocked and perfect to start the day. The pool unfortunately closed at 10pm (I arrived late) but the hotel was otherwise comfortable.

Newly opened, the rooms here feature contemporary decor, stylish light fixtures, and an impressively modern bathroom. This hotel has a free breakfast, meeting rooms, a small swimming pool, and (at the time of writing) free cookies in the lobby. There is also a small snack bar for purchasing of chips and snacks. The location is not ideal, being ~2 miles from downtown Ithaca, but it's a great place to stay!

Nice place, but the place had lots of ladybug looking beetles. They weren't bedbugs nor did they bother us. They stayed in the corners of the ceiling for the most part. I was there in late October.

Brand new construction along the newer modern template, which is not a bad thing. Quality of desk staff interaction is a little erratic but not anything that should give you pause. The fitness center is solid, and they even have a salt water pool (which is kind of awesome). This is my second stay here within two months, and this hotel will likely become my go-to choice when in the area.

We literally slid in here in a snowstorm. Lucky thing too. Clean, comfy, good service.
I do wish the staff wouldn't smoke by the front door, though.

New hotel, nice clean. Either the rooms are HUGE or I got a super upgrade. Great newly remodeled hotel, entrance is a little small but has a nice large parking lot in back.

Staff friendly, useful and allowed my family to checkout later without any fee. Plus, clean room and good breakfast.

Location was pretty close to everything. The check in was quick and easy. The staff were all very helpful. The rooms and whole place was very clean and newly remodeled. The pool was nice. An average indoor pool size. The breakfast was good. I really wasnt expecting it to be as good as it was. There are also washers and dryers for guests. Would definitely stay again.

Absolutely loved our stay, conveniently near state parks and very friendly and prompt service, will definitely be returning and would certainly recommend!
