Holiday Inn Express & Suites Swift Current Reviews

My experience with holiday inn express in swift current was great. I had no issues while I was at the hotel. They were clean, the service was prompt, a number of extra amenities available and they've got a good location.

I disliked this stay. The carpet was so soiled I wouldn't walk on it, the tv didn't work, and the room was excruciatingly hot throughout the night, causing sleep problems. There were issues beyond the hotel's control: pipes broke in several rooms, raining water which caused the hot water to go off everywhere, and the fire alarm to go off about 6AM. Even aside from that though, I wouldn't stay again. It just wasn't for me.

This has almost been a staple for our family in Swift Current. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, clean breakfast area.

Room was very clean, staff were courteous. Hotel is close to the casino, malls and restaurants.

Clean rooms and very very quiet - couldn't hear other guests or road noise at night and had a great sleep. Blackout curtains helped too! Breakfast is "meh" - fake frozen omelette patties, fake sausage patties etc that seems to be the standard for these types of hotels nowadays.

We arrived around 10:30pm from a full day of driving. I did not book ahead. I asked for a room and they told me I got the last one. I took the room and before I went to my room I went to eat. Upon returning from supper we went to my room for the first time. As we opened the door to the room we were greated with a repulsive smell like someone had hot boxes the room with cigarettes. We immediately went down to the front desk, they met us at our room. They agreed there was a smell but denied that it was cigarettes. They could tell us what the smell was from. When I signed my booking it clearly stated it was a 100% smoke & pet free facility. I strongly disagree, the smell was unbearable. Because it was already 12:30 am and we were exhausted we decided to stay. The person working asked what he could do. We asked for another room, he said they were all booked, then we asked for a discount, he said he would have ask his manager who is only available in the morning. The person working was not very friendly and willing to resolve this. We opened the window to our room for the entire night and the door till 2am just to keep the smell at a tolerable level. The smell was so strong that we woke up before 6am. In the morning we went to the front desk and ask if we could be compensated for only getting an unrestfull 4 hours of sleep. After trying to negotiate a credit I was given $40.00 off for the night. The manager also told me the people who previously rent that room had smoked in there. (So the night staff lied) In my opinion we should have been fully reimbursed for our stay. They obviously knew there was a previous situation that happened in there and should have told us this at the time of booking. If this was the last room available it obvious they held it till last for a reason. Check your room as soon as you check in if you decide to stay here.

I've stayed here a few times now and it's perfectly nice the rooms are nice and the staff is always helpful

Nice and clean, some problems with 3rd party reservation but got a good deal. The hot tub dried my skin out more than usual. This is right next to the casino and was a good distraction from a long drive.

Nice rooms/facilities - poor service and administration.

Having booked and prepaid through expedia two weeks prior, when I arrived reception couldn't find my reservation in their system and told me I would have to book another room at twice the price I had already paid (even after showing them the confirmation email). Reception suggested I must be at the wrong hotel and left me to resolve the issue with expedia (who were great, called the hotel twice and faxed the receptionist proof of my reservation when they refused to accept me without paying again). The hotel left me standing at reception for half an hour after a flight and long drive with the attitude that it was my problem and just ignored me until expedia forced them to honour the booking. I'm glad the expedia customer service was good (I've never had to test it before)

The electronic lock to my room failed on the last day (out of batteries apparently), no one seemed to know what to do other than repeatedly trying to scan a keycard. There was a back up physical lock which required a key which no one could seem to find, shockingly disorganised. Again, reception just left me waiting in the corridor for half an hour while they wandered around trying to find a key and asking each other what to do (while I was watching the time I had left to get to the airport tick away).

The wifi cut out frequently during my stay as well.

The room was nice and comfortable and the staff were pleasant, just very disorganized and inefficient. Would definitely think twice before staying there again.

This is a very clean, and consistent hotel chain. This location is directly beside a casino ... where one walk over to grab some food/drink ... play a game. Thanks.

This was one of my worst hotel experiences, we were travelling with a hockey team, the hotel had zero tolerance for socializing after 11. Will not be booking there again!!

A Standard Holiday Inn.
The usual of everything.
Pool, jacuzzi, free breaky.
Very pleased the Internet works and works well.
Bed was comfy, room was great, Staff were friendly.
What's not to like?

Room was good for price. But they did not give us room we ordered.

Slow to check in even with pre booking not a great place if you are looking for semi truck parking, rooms looked better in pictures than they actually are

AWFUL!!! Went to check in and my reservation was cancelled.... not by me!! Finally got checked in, went for dinner, and when I came back there were other peoples stuff in my room and the door was open!! They gave it to someone else and my keys no longer worked!!!!! For this, i was offered $20 off.... NEVER AGAIN...

The Holiday Inn Express Swift Current is a great family hotel to stay on your journey. Close to all amenities.

Great hotel. Everything was super clean. Pool and hot tub were fantastic.

Nice new looking clean facility. Surprisingly good included breakfast. Small pool and hot tub, no sauna or steam room. Gym is two treadmills, an elliptical and a bike. Fairly close to groceries and fast food. So far, enjoying my stay.

Great hot continental breakfast. Good size rooms. Comfortable bed and pillows. Friendly staff. Small lobby and check in area. Fair size pool. Small hot tub. Here for a hockey tournament so the ability to use the meeting room for our team meals, free of charge was appreciated. Good location. Lots of parking. Nice water pressure in the shower. Bathrooms are a bit smaller.

This is a 5 Star hotel. The staff were so friendly and the room was so clean. The free breakfast was delicious hot and fresh. I really just can't believe how friendly the staff was. The maintenance gentleman had the best additude towards his job. Was very friendly towards our whole family. It truly looked like all the staff really enjoy working at this hotel. I have zero complains. Very family friendly.

Room had a stale moldy smell. There was literally mold inside a picture. Called front desk and they said they had no different room, said housekeeping would come remove picture. They did not. We couldn't because it was bolted to the wall. This place is run down and would not recommend.

Comfortable beds, a very good breakfast, clean rooms and public usage areas. Cannot speak to the pool because it was shut down by government regulation (Covid-19). Would stay there again.

Wasn't able to make it to Swift Current on Dates reserved, They would not refund any of the cost to book. Don't spend any money here. Not one cent was returned

Nice hotel, comfy beds, good breakfast. However customer service was poor at the front desk and the worker was quite rude, and very sour, made us book online instead of doing it in the computer. Causing later headaches with expedia.ca. other then the front desk employee the hotel is awesome.

Awesome staff. A very cold -30 nite and they borrowed me a power cord to plug in my diesel truck. Good breakfast with BACON . And all the usual even gluten free bread for those in my family that are gluten intolerant. Good comfortable beds. A very good experience.

Spotless room and pool during our visit. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and made it a good value.

The rooms were ok, but the bathroom is super smsll. Barely any counter space in the kitchen. And the tv didn't work, had to get the on did staff to come up and he couldn't fugue it of. Went looking for another remote. During that time I searched the internet and figured out how to fix the remote

It's new clean and what you should expect. Gym pool hot tub. Lundry and 1 stop pizza was good. Thumbs up.

Awesome service from receptionist, rooms were very clean and tidy. Had comfortable beds and firm and soft pillows. Pool was lit, however no slide, but all good. Jacuzi was even better. Breakfast was great, lots of options. Was fun

Not up to the Holiday Inn Express standards we are used to. Quite dirty/dusty, my child who has asthma had a difficult time here. We stayed here in February and even though it was -30 outside, the the hotel was so warm that we actually had to turn the AC on at night! There is a small pool, but no waterside. We found the staff to be just ok, not overly friendly.

It's clean, somewhat comfy beds and a decent continental breakfast. As far as hotels go pretty good. Friendly and easy staff at the front desk with quick service.

We arrived late and had no issues checking in or checking out. Staff was great and everything was very clean!

Staff was kind. Food was good. Rooms were clean and spacious. Great stay.

The rooms and property in general seemed clean and taken care of but for a property built in 2009 it has an older feel. Some items look like there being repurposed from an older property. Shower water temperature fluctuated a lot and I had to be careful of scalding or chilling. I'd try it again but with caution.

Stayed in April. The weather was warm. Hotel room temperature was hot. Made sleeping difficult. Everything else was great. Comfortable beds, nice breakfast bar.

The pool & hot tub work great; had a mighty fine awesome sleep; nice & quite; breakfast that was included was super fine awesome; the pool & hot tub could of been opened at 6am, and close at 11pm or midnight. I will for sure stay here next time when I am going through.

Very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and nice. I did not check out the pool area but from the windows it was clean and inviting, definitely would stay there with kids. Very close to the casino as well which is convenient.

We had no hot water in our room, complained repeatedly and moved us the second day to another room. Second room had a used washcloth hanging in the shower and broken office chair. No communication with maintenance and admin regarding our complaints. Elevator was also broken, huge inconvenience for a busy hotel. Definitely not worth the cost of rooms. Do not recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff, clean room, messed up my reservation though and gave me nothing in return.

Deceit hotel but nothing fancy. My wife and I stayed here on our way to Banff. The rooms could use an update but still nice.

Room was a complete mess and the staff were dismissive and rude when confronted about it.

Rooms are nice. Bed was comfortable however not the most sound proof hotel. Mechanical problem with the room heater that is noisy when it activates every 10-15 min all night! Not recommended if you re a light sleeper!

Don't stay here if you want to sleep. I stayed on a Sunday and the casino had a live band in the parking lot under my window until 1 am. Also they refused to let me check in with my debit card and requiring a credit card but said I could pay with the debit card in the morning then ran my credit card anyway and shoved the receipt under my door before 5 am. I paid $135 to drive to Alberta on 2 hours of sleep.

Not very clean it didn't smell clean, crums on the floor,a/c heater system not working right. Disappointing.

Pool shut down for the long weekend due to "maintenance". Was no manager on staff for a long weekend to help solve any issues. Not impressed wouldn't recommend for families.

We lucked out and got a room on cancellation during a snowstorm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and in good repair. A fairly standard Holiday Inn room. The breakfast buffet options were decent enough.

The staff were so sweet during our stay with CP, and we're all excited to come back to this hotel next cycle. The breakfast was actually really good compared to most and front desk left you alone unless you needed them. It was a great stay
