Awesome people, drink, food, and theater. The sound ambiance is wonderful!
Great location. Valet parking. Self parking underground just across the road.
Maurits Jazz brunch was good, but the catered food was horrible.
Performing performances Just like a tricky safety check, the audience feels like a terrorist
Excellent service. I was with my daughter who was in a knee brace from a gymnastics injury. Met a docent on the first floor and asked how to get to our seats. She escorted us all the way to our seats and even checked on my daughter at intermission. I only wish I got her name to compliment her here.
Phantom of the Opera was amazing! And such a professional operation with the ushers and elevator attendant, truly a pleasure
The Color Purple was great my only complaint was the extremely overpriced food I will go to another show but I will never purchase anything there again
Would have been 5 stars but I couldn't find my way out of the parking lot without asking directions. Very few exit signs.
Having grown up in Houston I have been to many shows at the Hobby Center, and I can't think of one time in which I was disappointed with either the staff, or the show. I feel lucky to live in a city that appreciates the theater and always has something to offer.
I took my family to see the Houston Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker and it was amazing! We spent the extra money on Valet since garage parking elevators were still not working since the food of Hurricane Harvey. The food at the Easter on the 2nd floor was surprisingly fabulous. It wasn't cheap, but that was to be expected. The sets, costumes and dancing was all top notch. It was the best Nutcracker we have seen to date!
Great night out, saw a wonderful show, Something's Rotten. Beautiful theater
Went to go see Hamilton and was amazing I've seen lots of shows here smd were amazing
Beautiful center, nice restrooms. Entry was well organized, however, intermission seemed a bit chaotic. I am hot natured and while I was cool in the lobby, it was too warm for me during the production. Luckily, even on a cool evening event, I wore a sleeveless dress with a sweater that I was able to remove. Our seats were in Central Orchestra, Row U, seats 103 & 104.
Attended a matinee for Spring Awakening. Ushers were very helpful. Beverage carts and bars were on every floor for convenience. A lovely experience.
This place was beautiful. The preforming arts center was incredible, and definitely earned the name "Theatre Under The Stars." However I find it ridiculous that a can of coke was $4.
We are season subscribers to the Broadway plays that come to town. Love them all! Perfect for a date night.
Their ticketing process tricks you into thinking you're buying the best seat in the price level, but actually it's the worst! Then they charge you $3.50 more to print your ticket at your own expense at home.
Awesome atmosphere to enjoy a play and performance. Every seat still has a vantage view point. Parking cost is reasonable.
As a Long Island native, I ve seen lots of shows on Broadway. My standards are high and my expectation was slightly lower than what I was used to. The hobby center exceeded my expectations. I have been to lots of shows and the facility is wonderful.
I love the theater it always feels amazing to watch a powerful play At the Hobby Center.
Enjoyed all the musicals here but sitting can be a bummer if you have a tall or big headed person in front on the lower level.
Always a pleasure doing business and attending performances at The Hobby Center!
Nice place you have to pay for parking but it was in a good place
Great shows, awesome theaters but getting there can be hell.
Saw WICKED at this theatre. Everything was very organized and easy to get to. Sound quality was good and our view from the mezzanine level was unobstructed. The only difficulty is with the parking structure. It can get rather congested and is confusing to navigate since it's an underground passageway of parking lots and tunnels. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to park and get to the theater before show time (45 minutes to 1 hour). Even valet takes awhile since there's a very long line.
Wowowow we came to the hobby center to watch Spring Awakening and it was fantastic. Beautiful auditorium with the stars shining overhead throughout the musical. It was a great experience
Concessions are a little high. But even in Left Orchestra the view was great. Comfortable. Everyone helpful and friendly.
Went to a performance of Riverdance and absolutely loved it. Staff was very courteous and helpful in all aspects. Everything exceeded my expectations.
It's a very clean place, the restrooms was so clean, I actually thought I was at my house. The workers was so nice and kind, I can't wait to attend another event.
The food was disappointing but the theatre was very nice. The ushers were a little rude but the service staff were very nice. I did pre order drinks for halfway and they were ready and waiting for us, but it was disappointing to see that all the drinks everyone ordered was on one table with a napkin with my name and others name on them... Anyone could have picked up my drink and what if there was more than one person with my name? No one was there to keep it organized or hand them out. Totally nuts.
Love the Hobby Center. vibrant venue. lots of great nearby nice restaurants.
Just saw Hamilton here. Excellent show and good facilities. They could use additional bathrooms though.
Really enjoyed seeing Hamilton there. Beautiful facility with great views from all seats. We sat in the upper mezzanine and could clearly see everything.
Drinks were overpriced and then the tips were put at 18% and up.
Well organized staff and friendly. Decent bar for the theater. When I went someone fell down the stairs and the staff immediately took care of that person with medical care.
I've watched so many shows here, and it's always a good performance. This venue offers good food during intermission and the bathrooms aren't clogged with traffic or dirty.
The hosts do a great job of assisting and directing us where we need to be.
Always love attending a show and the Phantom was amazing. Super was great before the performance and the service at the Hobby Center is always top notch.
Enjoyed jersey boys actors and singers were excellent, food and drink way over priced
If you're a normal-sized human, you will be uncomfortable in these tiny seats. Sound quality is not great inside. The staff was exemplary though. It's a clean nice place but the seating and legroom is horrible!
Been going for years. Easy in/out parking in adjacent garage or in tranquility parking garage. For evenings or daytime, check out view of downtown from balcony.
It's a beautiful building and all of their shows are amazing. I really love and appreciate what they do
Amazing time with the family to see Beauty and the Beast. Good views from the nosebleeds.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The restrooms are keep clean. There was not a long wait during intermission at the drink and snack bar.
Amazing performances and Broadway musicals and plays are shown here
Nice venue. Sat in left mezzanine. Great view of full stage. Only complaint is the alcohol consumption in the theatre contributed to conflict with drunk patron.
Great faculty, wonderful shows, bad parking.
Here's the thing about the parking. Don't use the valet service unless you want to spend a lot or like waiting. I have *heard* that if you pre-tip the valet a $20 you might get a spot up front. Otherwise you're going to be put in with all the rest and it will take a while for them to get your car. A long while.
You are much better to park in the underground area. It actually saves cash and you'll get out faster.
The trick is getting there **early**. Give yourself 30 minutes extra. Slide in easy, take a leisurely stroll through the lobby, use the restroom, and saunter to your seats. Its such a better experience to have time to enjoy yourself. Otherwise, your going to be the people all hot and upset, that everyone else will be staring at and making fun of.
.
Great venue. We watched Mama Mia. Do yourself a favor and come enjoy this show. Great food and coktails at the lobby bistro. Very atentive guest services team.
GORGEOUS venue with lovely sound! Not a bad seat in the house!
Venue is cozy and welcoming of people from all walks of life. Seating its comfortable even if slightly cramped and the performances offered are widely varied and plentiful!
Lots of laughs for a comedy show. No drinks allowed inside without special cup.
Great performance. Very nice attendant helped us with the wheelchair
