Our stay was amazing. great room, good bathroom, hot water, complimentary bar, check in drinks...they take care of you! Jumping off the lower deck to snorkel was fantastic. Waist deep clear water in every direction. We paid the minimum price for a over water bungalow and got a fantastic view and location. Impressed by the crepe bar and the breakfast buffet. Great staff, however seemed overworked at the check in table. Best Wifi we had in the 4 resorts we staid in Moorea.

I spent six days here in Bungalow 59 and it was truly paradise. Waking up to the sound of roosters and the lagoon and overlooking the sunrise is something that will always stay with me. There is something about the island that automatically unwinds you, and forces you to relax and enjoy. My husband and I enjoyed the use of the paddleboards and kayaks, and we brought our own snorkel gear. The surrounding lagoon had beautiful fish, and we even saw an octopus, and a sting ray. At night the black tipped sharks come in and you can see them from the creperie. Our favorite restaurant was the one on the beach. There is a club sandwich there that we ended up sharing on two different occasions. Super good! We brought a few bottles of alcohol for our room, as well as some breakfast bars and snacks, and that really helped keep costs down as meals and entertainment are expensive. We rented a scooter one day for $50, and a car one day for $65 which were both great buys. It took us about an hour and a half to circle the entire island, which was awesome. Saw a few chapels, gorgeous beaches, and the various villages. You must get up to Belvedere, and you must make it over to the sand bar to snorkel with the sharks. Do not skip on either of these opportunities. The driest season is November, so we plan on taking a trip back during that month next time, and we will be staying at the Hilton, again. We were there July 12th - 18th and had a pretty significant amount of rain and cloudy days.

If you can manage it, get a bungalow over the lagoon. Sting rays, sharks, jellyfish and all the fish. Snorkeling off your private dock and outdoor shower. The outdoor deck has 2 chaise lounge chairs and a table for 2. It's a bucket list item for sure. You won't be disappointed. Staff are very friendly and you can rent paddleboards, snorkel gear and kayaks free of charge. Hotel offers rental cars to explore the island and jet skis to explore the water for a fee. Only regret is that I didn't stay longer.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton! Our bungalow was clean and spacious. The plunge pool was great. The beach and staff were wonderful! I have nothing but good things to say about our stay.

We loved it here! It is a little expensive, but absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny! We stayed in the over water bungalows and that was also 100% worth it. We really enjoyed the free activities and we were snorkeling almost everyday! There is coral right outside your bungalow and the views are amazing! You can travel to different places on the island and we did so much! I definitely feel like we made a great choice in choosing this hotel as well. Buffet breakfast was also a great thing to put in our package!

The hotel is clearly not worth the money spent. The service is very, very below what I have experienced in Polynesia. The clumsiness of the staff is sometimes surprising (several incidents). The overwater bungalows are fine but in need of maintenance. The restaurants are disappointing. If I had paid twice as much (which is still expensive :)), I would have put 5 stars.

Great resort. We stayed in the overwater bungalow and it was a dream! we had a bungalow at the very end of the pontoon, and would probably have preferred one closer in as it was kind of windy out where we were and we had friends that had one facing the beach and they were sheltered from the wind and it was perfect. The accommodations and the property and amenities were great. We really enjoyed our time here!!

Perfect resort. We spent about half our trip on Moorea and half on Bora Bora. Both islands and resorts are beautiful (we did prefer Bora Bora however). Stayed in the overwater bungalow and it was everything we dreamed of. The snorkeling is really good and pretty much never ending. At night we saw sharks and octopus right off our bungalow. During the day saw all kinds of fish and some eels. Food was very good, amazing staff, clean and well-equipped rooms. Would 100% recommend.

Overall: great overwater bungalows, fairly limited hotel amenities and just ok service for the price you pay. I just spent a month in the South Pacific in different countries and this hotel had the most average customer service I experienced.
PROs:
Great AC, good WiFi, great outside lounge area that s shaded to relax on your private balcony, extremely fast room service, large room service menu, comfortable beds.
CONs:
Customer service was slow (except for room service)... getting a drink in the pool area is weird, there s lots of employees in the area but very difficult to flag one down. No one seems to go out of their way to help you, more that you have to do the work.
Property is rather small (good I guess if you like that).

Nice hotel but little sense of customer service

Nice hotel but little sense of customer service
We had requested a sunset bungalow two weeks in advance and did not have it on arrival, water heater failure for nearly 24 hours, we requested a late check out to be able to enjoy a bit more of our bungalow (It had rained during the 3 days we had booked) which was also denied to us while they propose a paying formula for that, in general the staff does not seek a solution to find a compromise is a shame. Lots of little details that make it not worth the price compared to other hotels of this type that we did in Polynesia.

Stayed here a number of years ago when it was a Sheraton Hotel. Moorea is an idyllic place, perfect for a honeymoon. The amenities and views, service and setting are about as perfect as a tropical vacation can be. If you get the chance, take advantage of going, you won't regret it!

A loyal guest of the Hilton Moorea, my last stay from May 6 to 8 did not go very well. Indeed, I find that the quality of service is lower compared to other hotels of the lower range. First of all, the cleaning in my bungalow was not done during my stay and having returned late, I could not report it in time for the cleaning lady to intervene.
When I entered the bungalow, I rushed to the terrace but my hand was stuck on the post of the bay window because of the dirt ... the cleanliness is poor.
On the other hand, cocktails served by the pool unlike the Manava resort and Spa in Moorea are served in simple plastic cups, with no small things to nibble on.
2 nights at 90000FCP for two adults and two children, that implies that everything is perfect!
Next time we will be going back to Manava resort and spa!

We were looking forward to this first anniversary ...

We were looking forward to this first anniversary trip and the resort, however ended up with TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Staffs in the resort weren t kind at all, and also not active in whatever we requested for. These are the few dissatisfactions we had towards this resort.
1. Room cleaning service and amenities were always somewhat not complete, unprepared, or missing. We asked for room slippers and toothbrush which was not ready from the first place and had to call the front desk, but they forgot it or brought them really late.
2. We wanted to explore and participate in many activities booked from the hotel, but the staff in charge of the activity was inhospitable. When booking for the ATV activity they asked for some questions and when we answered, one of the staffs smirked for some reason after we answered. We felt really unpleasant and even thought she was being racist. We visited the activity desk several times but never felt that they were willing to help us out while it s our first time to visit Mo orea.
3. Upon our check-in, we requested for the overwater type room if possible during our stay (upgrading with charge of course). If the rooms are totally unavailable they could ve informed us quite shorty, but they never reached us first and we had to go all the way to the front desk several times. After about three times of checking if they checked the availability, the next day we received that all rooms are fully booked so that we don t have the chance to move to another room. I didn t care about the room availability, but quite angry in the fact that they did t try to respond to our question or just forgot it.
4. Swimming pool tiles in the room was too old and dangerous. Tiles were mostly peeled off on the stair side, so my husband got a scratch on his foot.

Overall, compared to all other resorts we ve been to, it was our worst experience. I m not sure if I ll stay in any other Hilton branch resorts or hotels from now on.

The free minibar is not to be underestimated. The restaurants are a bit expensive but like in all of Polynesia.

We spent an amazing week here on our second trip t...

We spent an amazing week here on our second trip to Tahiti. Moorea is amazing. It s like Hawaii and France had a more primitive baby. We love the setting, the people, and the food.

Unfortunately, we can t give this hotel the 4 star review it deserves. Since our first trip here in 2013, time and the elements have been kinda hard on this property. It s badly in need of renovation. Even so, we did have a lovely stay here and since it s such an epic place I ll give you a list of our good and bad points.

The good:
* It s an amazing setting here. Beautiful ocean, mountains, wildlife, and grounds.
* The staff are friendly, and the people here are delightful. The Tahitian and French culture meld to make a really delightful place.
* The crepe bar on the boardwalk is a delight. You can enjoy peaceful evenings under the stars with fish and sharks swimming below, all while you eat delicious crepes.
* The buffet breakfast and dinner were good (all things considered). After a few days, we noticed some things about the buffet that we didn t love but for the most part I d give it a thumbs up.
* We love the bungalows. In the class we booked, you get a private bungalow with a fenced in porch, deck, and plunge pool. It s a stand alone building nestled in with the others offering lots more privacy and tranquility than a regular hotel room. We enjoyed spending time on our private fenced in deck in the afternoons when the breezes picked up.
* We enjoyed good room service and they kept the room made up and the mini bar stocked.
* Access to the lagoon and ocean are great here. You can kayak, SUP, snorkel, swim, or whatever you want to do right from the beach at the hotel. They have the standard activities desk that can hook you up with jetski rides and snorkel tours right from the hotel dock.

The bad:
* The property doesn t need maintenance, it needs a full restoration. The relentless sun and elements haven t been kind to the fences, decks, siding, and especially the roofs of the over the water bungalows. It s feels weird to be at a four star joint and be looking at completely worn out roofs with plastic/rubber slats draped over the worn down roofing material to keep water out. Our bungalow fencing, siding, decking, and flooring were all extremely weathered and worn down.
* Our bungalow didn t smell great when we got here. It had a bathroom kinda smell, and not in a good way. Housekeeping fabreezed it and kept it tidied up, but it had a musty, sometimes even slightly sewer like smell during our stay.
* We are avid divers, so we were surprised when the activity desk would not book our dives for us. They were kind enough to have the concierge call the dive operator and hand us the phone (which I could have done myself). If you dive, this is probably not your kind of place.
* With limited on property food options, after a few days, we wanted to go try some other food. The off property restaurants on the island are a fair bit away, so we had to take a cab out and back, which adds a fair amount of cost to any such adventure, and the food here is anything but cheap.
* The food at the poolside grill is very average and grew quickly grew old.
* They drive their electric service carts everywhere on the property. We felt like we had to have eyes in the back of our heads as we walked around the property. I don t think there was a single time we walked anywhere on the property that we didn t have to step off the path to allow a service cart to whiz by.

Some tips:
* There is a current in the lagoon. While we were here, the current was 1-2 MPH west. Be advised that swimming, SUP, kayaking, etc is much harder against the current. We did enjoy swimming downstream and then walking back on the beach adjacent to the hotel. Just don t go all the way to the public park unless you want to fight the current all the way back or be prepared to walk (possibly barefoot).
* There is a trigger fish that is very territorial out there on the reef. He bites - lol.
* The beach at the public park is very nice and has showers.
* Bring some snacks. There are none here.

An exceptional hotel!

An exceptional hotel!
My husband, our 11 month old baby and I stayed in June at the Hilton.
Everything was absolutely perfect!
Beautiful hotel, superb pool and garden bungalow just top of the top with private pool.
The minus was about cleaning the room.
Other than that (and we did not take it into account in the end!), The staff was extremely friendly and very professional with always nice touches for our baby.
We will come back !

Beautiful place. Everything was very clean. We stayed 3 nights in an over water bungalow. The buffet in their restaurant at dinner was okay at best, and VERY expensive. It was advertised as a buffet, nothing else (the best meal of the day, with the best food, was the breakfast buffet that was free). There was a show with fire dancers during dinner. It was okay, but had we known, we would have skipped that dinner, because we had already seen a similar show earlier on our vacation. Our bill for this buffet style dinner was $200!!! No alcohol except for the "complimentary" glass, and nothing extra ordered. This really irritated me, since the bungalow was $1000 per night! Drink prices were ridiculous, as in $22 for a cocktail, $15 for a beer...as I'm sure is standard anywhere on the island.

Disappointing

Disappointing
No mattresses on the sunbathing outside our bungalow, a defeat and dangerous latte on the terrace, just enough to hurt the foot, a bungalow without added value ... neglected details that do not allow to justify the difference in price with the other hotels of the island Type Manava. Perhaps the hotel will respond by saying it should have been reported: BUT NO, a hotel of this standard should leave nothing to chance and should not ask, it should already be settled before arrival!
In short, disappointing performance for the price.

Just a bar/restaurant review as I did not stay in the hotel. Drinks and beer are priced competitively for the area and the atmosphere is killer to drink with the over-water huts in view and the ocean as well. They charge for water (nothing but bottles, but that's normal in FP) and they also charge for the olive and pineapples they place on your table even though you don't ask for them. Drinks were made well and quickly and service was top notch.

This place exceeds expectations! The rooms are beautiful, and the bungalows have decks complete with beach recliners and table and chairs, as well as stairs leading to a secondary deck for direct private ocean access. We saw a sting ray from the floor view in our room and black tip reef sharks from the walk to the shore. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and try their best to accommodate you even through the language barrier, and it really makes the experience that much more fun. And honestly, their English isn't as bad as they think it is. I would absolutely come again, and I haven't even left yet. MAURURU, Hilton Mo'orea!

My husband and I vacationed at the Hilton Moorea for our honeymoon. We spent 4 nights in a villa with a pool and 4 nights in an overwater bungalow. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. We already miss our overwater bungalow and the sunset views greatly. The snorkeling right off of our panoramic bungalow was amazing, some of the best on the island. After visiting many of the other resorts we both agreed we couldn t have made a better choice than the Hilton. If you are thinking about visiting this magical island, do it- you will not regret it!

This is a beautiful resort with a large pool and 3 small beaches. On the platform to the over water bungalows there is a fantastic creperie which is incredibly popular. It is possible to spot sharks and rays in the evenings too! The garden pool bungalows are spacious and stylish and the plunge pool in the garden is wonderful! An excellent option for Moorea with great views and lovely sunsets.

The staff are exceptionally pleasant and attentive (we sympathized with Heinui, very kind)! However, the bungalow rooms on the water could be improved and renovated because the floor is damaged. Otherwise, pleasant stay (good restaurant, beautiful swimming pool) and the possibility of enjoying the whole place before checkin or checkout

We spent four nights in an over the water bungalow. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. About two dozen things were either broken or working only partially. Toilet doesn't flush properly. Did they try to truly fix the problem, no? In the fitness center, there's one old cheap broken treadmill. It wasn't working on two of the four times that I visited the fitness center. This is what you would expect at a one star hotel not at a five-star hotel. This is one star hotel management model pretending to be a five-star hotel! It's appalling that they're able to game the rating system and charge so much for a sub-par, deeply unsatisfying hotel experience.

We are staying for 2 days in an overwater bungalow...

We are staying for 2 days in an overwater bungalow in Moorea (French Polynesia). We are on our honeymoon and we spent almost 1 month salary to stay for 2 nights in your overwater hotel. We were expecting a great experience. However several situations had happened. First of all, even though I sent an email explaining it was our honeymoon, no one has congratulate us demonstrating a poor customer experience. Also, in the room we got the water from the sink is stagnant, the shower leaks water and the curtain is in really bad state. To continue, we requested in the reception to make a local call and they told us that there is a charge, even though is a call to a place in Moorea. Finally, we decided to play a tenis game but we realized the tennis rackets were in really bad state and the balls didn't bouce well.

When all this happened we requested for a complaint letter at the reception of the hotel but they gave as a blank page to write down whatever needed rather than a official complaint letter.

We are really sad since its our last two days of our honeymoon and we are not spending the great days we thought.

Luxury resort hotel

Luxury resort hotel
Water cottage

It was a hotel like heaven.
Stand-up paddles and canoes are available free of charge.
Eating and drinking in the hotel is as expensive as other hotels in Tahiti.
Being in the lagoon allows you to spend time in the wonderfully colored sea.
There are many kinds of fish that can be snorkeled for a long time, although the transparency is quite high when entering the sea from the water cottage.

Terrific hotel, but also damn expensive. Was over the weekend including breakfast 660.00. No food in the evening under 50.00 but the service very courteous. Definitely recommend it for the weekend, but who has a limited budget for the holiday should look for something else.

Great place to stay on Mo'orea! The hotel has many great amenities, including free rentals on water equipment, delicious breakfast, and water access. They also make it easy to schedule activities, and a lot of local restaurants and businesses are able to accommodate transportation to and from this hotel. The staff is very friendly and made our stay easy. The resort is close to a variety of places, but it is also easy to stay put at the resort with all the restaurants and activities available right at the Hilton itself!

Service is good, but there are some maintenance issues. the walkway called a pontoon to get to your rooms if you have a bungalow over the water is in dire need of repair. all the restaurants in the Hotel except for one don't start serving dinner until 6: 30pm and you need to make a reservation. If you're used to eating before that there's only one choice it starts at 11 and stop serving people without reservations at 6 p.m. after that you'll need a reservation in that restaurant too and that's the one at the end of the pool. So it's severely limited if you prefer to eat before 6. and that goes for the whole island no other restaurant that we found open before 6:30 p.m. for meals. The buffet breakfast is pretty good most people can find something that they like.

The pool was great but the beach is the big hit here. My wife and I came in on holiday from a cruise (Windstar) and only had about 6-8hrs in Moorea and opted to do a day pass at the Hilton instead of any excursion which was fantastic! It was $90 (USD) per person which at first seems expensive but they give you a 2 or 3 course lunch along with a free drink. They also give you a free rental as well, so you can rent a paddle board, kayak or floaty at no additional cost. Good place if you only have a few hours to chill in Moorea! I highly suggest!

incredible overwater bungalows. the reef here is well established. the breakfast buffet is super good! you can easily leave the hotel and explore the island. the prices are way more reasonable than Bora Bora. there's a LOT to do on this island. the scuba diving is great. Snorkeling with whales is literally the most spiritually moving thing I've ever done. we got married at Hilton Moorea which was out of this world! how could it be any more beautiful? dinners are very nice here. there are hikes close by that'll take you way up to the top of the mountains. we got a deal staying for 5 nights. the last night was free. highly recommend. the concierge is beyond helpful with anything that you will need. everyday they give you a couple free Waters and free beers this actually goes a long way when other hotels will charge you five bucks for a water!
