Hilton Hotel Kalastajatorppa Review

Beautiful located hotel, friendly professional staff. Large family rooms, underground parking. Restaurant with good quality food and breakfast is superb.

Worst hotel I ve stayed at in a very long time.
It is around half an hour by tram from the city with literally no restaurants round about. We purposefully booked it to be in nature and enjoy the facilities. Ha! Basically, to use the facilities (pool, sauna) you have to either skip breakfast or dinner. Despite it advertising these facilities, what they don t tell you is it s only open 7-10am or 6-10pm only. This is for cooling and cleaning purposes. I did get up one morning at 7am to swim and very quickly regretted it. While the pool itself was warm enough (just), the area around the pool was not heated at all and was freezing. Not at all a pleasant experience.
We went to use the sauna but it is only single sex saunas so we couldn t use together. If we wanted to have a sauna and conversation, well that would be EUR 60 per hour for the privilege. The women s sauna on said morning I went to the pool had a bunch of children in there so no relaxation for me!
Next and more sensitively, we arrived home one evening (around 9pm), turned the corner to the hotel and saw many police cars, armed guards etc. My heart raced and I said to my partner oh God, what s happened . Nothing as it turns out, just a special visitor or two. Yet the hotel didn t think they needed to give anyone a courtesy note or say to guests not to worry. We went for a walk the following morning and on our return were quizzed by a (friendly and polite) armed officer if we were staying at the hotel. There were even special officers on our floor so it just felt very uneasy. Sorry- but we are from the UK. When we see this many police in one place it usually means there has been another terrorist attack.
I left this hotel after 4 days in one of the most chilled countries in the world more stressed than I arrived.
I d also add that the room was very dated, unclean in places and so we ensured we were out of the hotel as much as possible.
The only nice thing about this place? The breakfast- staff were lovely and the food was nice enough.

I've been here just a big mass events. A really good place to eat, but the food has been very good in most years.

Pretty expensive hotel, for the wealthy I recommend.

The staff was so friendly and outgoing, helpful and sweet.

Cleanliness: Clean and comfortable.
Meals: (Breakfast) Fresh, varied and delicious.
Location: It is a little away from the tourist center, but it is quiet and tranquil in the surroundings as far from the sightseeing spot. It is also good to take a walk. (There is a little inconvenience when going to sightseeing spot.)
Service: We were satisfied with the response of all staff. It was very kind.

Here for a work seminar, great place. Could do a good and well functioning buffet for 250 people.

Beautiful views of the Gulf of Finland. If you're ever visiting in January - February, try the reindeer blini. Yum. :)

Fabulous, book ahead for a good deal. Try paddle boarding from the beach . Great breakfast. Try the adjacent tennis club for a cheaper evening meals. Free parking close to the city.

Rooms with sea views are located in a separate building. The breakfast is good. A lot of free parking spaces. There is a garage for 20 Euro per day. A great option for living in summer or winter, nearby is a row with surfers.

A great place for hobbies, for example on the waters, paddling or windsurfing, tennis, etc.

The place has stayed in the 80's Luxus outfits .. well some likes it ..

Family room (for three adults) is cramped in size. But clean and even stylish.

Nice spacious and above all quiet rooms. Nice wellness area.
Extensive breakfast. Parking is sufficiently free available. Good Wi-Fi connection.

the hotel is not new, but everything is clean and well maintained, the staff is excellent. if Hilton - it will definitely be fine. breakfast is super. spa and fitness areas. recommend.
parking - if you check in late, be prepared that there may not be a place, but in the quarter you will definitely find a place.

A beat quaint hotel with historical bearings. Had a wonderful sauna opening up to sea.

It is a very suggestive and welcoming place, for any event especially the wedding, because it is located on the mate and has a small port where boats can dock. It has a beautiful garden where you can safely used for every occasion. Then it is a place that has several rooms depending on the needs and can contain around 1000 people and maybe even more using all the rooms. The staff and sociable and accommodating and the food is good. I consiglio

Set in a beautiful location with airy rooms, but it's the staff that makes this place special. The man at reception for check in and check out was lovely. All the reception staff in between who answered our many queries were very helpfu and patientl. And the breakfast and restaurant staff were super friendly and professional. I'll definitely be back!

Breakfast a complete zoo. Asked to sit in lobby and clean my own table before getting food from the buffet. Very poorly done.

The views are breathtaking. !!!!!! The underground tunnel to the pool was sweet, kids loved it, swimming in the sea, that lovely cafe at the end of the day watching the sunset at 10:30pm having a beer or a coffee.we did go into helsinki and it was nice., but for me I had three weeks travelling around different places and this is definitely my new happy place!! Thank you hilton helsinki. Oh and we had a bath and shower in our room, which was a big hug as the day we arrived we got soaking wet and a hot bath was just what I needed

Lovely hotel. Maybe a little tired but great location. Beautiful views of the water and sunset. Staff very nice and welcoming and the sauna and gym facilities were excellent. Will definitely stay here again sometime.

I had a king plus room with a balcony and for view alone I'd say it was worth it. The bed for me was a little too hard but that's my only complaint, other facilities in the room were perfect.

It's reachable by road but can be missed - I'd recommend Google Maps . Otherwise it's less than 10 minutes from a tram stop.

Definitely Finland's best hotels. The location is top notch, easy to come and go anywhere. Service level in Finnish benchmark really good. In the summer, wonderful scenery. The restaurant's food is also ok.

Room was very hot and it was a trial to get the windows open (no AC whatsoever) very friendly team. Breakfast was a scrum! Absolutely packed and manic. The poor lady clearing the tables and serving tea and coffee deserves a mention for smiling although being run ragged!
Room had a bath and separate shower, which was a plus.

Very nice hotel! Good breakfast, nice rooms. Ask for a sea view if possible, it's totally worth it! Great bar by the sea side. Ask for their gin&tonic with rosemary and berries! Yum!

Large rooms, great views from superior rooms over the bay. There is free parking. Very good breakfast with a varied selection of dishes. In walking distance there is nothing (restaurants, shops).

The initial feeling is that the place is aging and the renovation would not hurt. The food was good and the service was friendly. The November sea view is by no means uplifting, but there is nothing you can do about it.

Loved my room with a great view of the seafront. And tram is easy to reach to see the rest of Helsinki.

I was not at the hotel but at an event where dinner was enjoyed in a round hall. The three-course dinner was really tasty and good. The service is also an excellent class. I recommend.
