Service is awesome. breakfast is amazing small rooms but very good. Everyone was so friendly this was the best experience in a hotel in a while.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Hotel staff unprofessional and could care less. Everything became a situation & chaotic

The resort was wonderful and the staff was attentive and friendly. Kelly at the front desk was especially helpful and very professional. The restaurant had great food and service. Michael and Sid were friendly, fun and helped us with menu selections and great service. Views are spectacular with a balcony for outside seating. We didn't get to use the pool, but we often bike on the beach-give it a try for a fun afternoon!

Our room was nice but there were a few issues. First our A/C was not working properly and after asking three times for someone to look at it, it became marginally better. They did fix our TV right away when it freaked out, technology's fault here. We were also missing an ironing board.
Overall the hotel was nice and clean, the restaurants within the place were overpriced, but tasty. Just don't drink the water, it taste like pool water. I wouldn't stay there again for the price, but I was there on business.

dirty hotel, poor room service. little space by the pool, towels are not enough, waited 3 hours and did not wait. very expensive bar. never come back here again. there are better hotels nearby.

All staff here are very courteous. The breakfast buffet is good. Having both indoor and outdoor pools is really nice. You can't get much closer to the beach. Parking can get busy depending on what type of event is being hosted here. The area is great for running, walking, cycling.

The absolute Worst Marriott in 30 years. Thin walls, kids running and screaming in the halls, doors slamming. No remote in room-took 30 minutes-TV didn t work-took another 30 minutes. Front desk not answering the phone.....They did nothing. Clearly Clients are not valued!!!

I like this hotel, and the staff are great. My only issue would be that it definitely needs a facelift - new carpet, coat of paint, that kind of thing. Otherwise, great facility.

There are not enough LOVES to post for this weekend. The Marriott HH is fabulous and they make sure your stay is building memories. Excellent food...service... accomodations...and THE VIEW..OMG..THE VIEW!!!! No place on the island like it. THANK YOU MARRIOTT!

I'm a Marriott chick! Always clean, safe and comfortable rooms.

Everything was really great, except one thing. We paid $100 to have a covered seat at the pool for one day (Holiday). The chair cushions are the most uncomfortable I've ever paid money for. Other resorts (including Marriott) have much better cushions for the chairs. Otherwise, great location, staff, amenities,etc.

Full transparency- we won a four night stay from a fundraiser. We loved our experience with the hotel. Our room was large with a little entry way where we put our suitcases and sand stuff. Inside also had a couch and a balcony with chairs. There are multiple pools and easy beach access. There's always some place to sit, even with summer crowds. Pool/beach towels were also included. Umbrellas must be rented per town policy so we got our own. There is an indoor pool and outdoor games. Location is great too and it's easy to get around the island from it. Highly recommend.

The rooms are clean and the customer service is incredible.

Fun, spacious, friendly and polite. The family loved it. Dolphins can be seen about 100 feet out in ocean daily.

Location is fabulous. Hammocks by the beach, a big plus. Front desk staff could be more accomodating.

All I can say is that I want a rewind on my time spent here! I loved my room. Everything was clean. Room service was tasty. The staff was so friendly and helpful! We really felt babied. We re going back!

Great setting at Shelter Cove. Good salsa. Try the Verde pork enchiladas.

Beautiful beach, plenty of chairs and umbrellas for rent on the beach. Very nice pool area with open air cafe for a delicious lunch. Rooms are a little dated and a/c had trouble keeping the humidity at bay. Overall a nice property. We'll visit again .

Very good accommodation, wonderful beach view. Unfortunately we had some small mishaps with the rooms, but we were taken care of very well!

Do not stay here. The resort itself has lovely grounds and a nice location, so I would feel like I was lying to rate it 1 star. We actually stayed here a few years ago and came back for the location. That being said, the hotel has gone very downhill. The rooms need remodeled, the air conditioning was broken and being fixed, and the hallway carpets were mildewed. We were pretty understanding of it being an older hotel, and wanted to have a good weekend so we overlooked all that. The main problem is with the customer service and priorities of the resort. We booked an ocean front room on a high floor to have a relaxing evening on the balcony by the ocean. The hotel set up a wedding reception on the deck directly in front of our room (and the hundreds of other oceanfront rooms) complete with DJ. From the 7th floor with the door closed, we could hear everything being said, including all the lyrics to the electric slide. When we called the front desk to ask about the volume, we were told that quiet hours didn't start until 11 pm. We asked if they would at least turn it down (and why we weren't told there would be a DJ outside our room until 11 pm in advance), and they said that quiet hours would not start until 11, and no apology was given nor solution offered. We expected far more from a Marriott, and since my entire family are rewards members, we will be rethinking that loyalty in the future.

It's a beautiful hotel but with Covid currently going on and some of the things that should be included no longer available you'd think that they'd have more accommodations such as breakfast included especially with the amount you pay to stay here. I'm sure we could have have stayed at a less expensive hotel with more things included. I guess what I'm trying to say is it a little over rated. And we didn't get a beach view for what we paid.

My boyfriend and I were planning on spending two nights here. We were getting all settled in and then while I was in the shower he said omg babe we have to get out of here! There were bugs all over the night stand. I am so grossed out and worried and and washing everything on hot whenever we can make it home. This place is old and dirty. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Disappointed! Food below average. Rooms outdated and our door was in such poor shape it not only stuck on us, but room service almost couldn't get it open to leave room. Discounted family resort.

This place is great ASIDE FROM THE WORST ELEVATORS I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED! We spent far too much time waiting for the tiny elevator which would be full. A lot of waiting for the elevator and a sketchy stair option.

Lovely location,, clean rooms and pleasant staff. Just tough to get to the ocean. Disliked the fact that you couldn't check in until after 5pm!

It's a beautiful facility The staff was great. It was close to a lot of restaurants. It had 2 pools(indoor and out).oceanfront location e staff was great. It was close to a lot of restaurants.Theres a restaurant in the hotel as well as a bar,and spa. The rooms were comfortable with flat screen TV, shower, coffee maker. Beds and pillows were comfortable. They have valet parking and a Starbucks in the gift shop. They also have multiple meeting rooms. Great for events and meetings. restaurant bar

We ate at the poolside restaurant. Service was terrible and food was terrible and cold. Food sat at bar several minutes before anyone figured out whose food it was. Fish tacos were awful and everyone's french fries were cold. Chicken tenders were way too dry. Do not recommend at all!!! Worst meal on Hilton Head island.

Beautiful hotel on the beach, great service! My room had a side view of the beach which was enjoyable, but there was a bit of a musty smell, not enough to complain. I did open the balcony door to let the room air out. Otherwise beautiful facility, very clean and friendly staff.

Fabulous location and great hiotel to stay at . .The Marriot had a culinary chef for a Thanksgiving that was unreal . Food was to amazing !

I will start at the beginning. I am a lifetime Gold Elite Marriott Rewards member. We stayed at the hotel July 24-26. I had called earlier in the week and had upgraded our 2 king rooms to oceanfront. I called back to double check. The reservation agent confirmed and even went so far as to tell me we were in connecting rooms. After a long drive to get there, we were informed that only one room was upgraded. The other one wasn't. They had no record of the conversation. The only room they could give us was on the 10th floor, not oceanfront. What they had left out, is that the 10th floor has a horrendous mold issue. The room smelled horribly. As that occupant has asthma, that was not an option. We called back down and were given another very small room on a low floor. That room was next to a very loud group. We had to move again. This time to a double queen room, again not oceanfront.

Now on to our rooms. The one oceanfront room was worn, had scuff marks in the entrance, had either blood or chocolate stains on the drapes. There was an apparent water leak in the ceiling.The "oceanfront' patio was terribly worn. All pictures are attached. We have always trusted Marriott.Especially, in the time of Covid this is beyond unacceptable. In my sons room, the comforter was filthy. There was a bug in the bathroom. The next morning, we discussed just leaving early. We decided to try and make the best of and spend the day at the beach. Ha! First of all, there was absolutely no social distancing being followed on the pool deck. The chairs were on top of each other. We ran with our masks on through there to get to the beach. At every other Marriott beach resort, we have stayed at, there has been food service on the beach. There was none here. We had to go to the pool deck to order in the crowd of people. The bartender had his mask below his nose. I had to ask him to pull it up. As I said, we have stayed at other Marriott resorts, Marco Island Resort, The Key Largo resort, the Harbour Beach resort in Fort Lauderdale. At all 3 of those there was good service. As they did not have room service, because of covid, we had to order breakfast and pick it up. What we received were truly lukewarm eggs and cold bacon. After the beach, we wanted to nap. I called down 3 times for extra pillows and towels. It literally took an hour and a half to get those. There went the nap! What was laughable was the resort charge added to the bill. I called down to inquire. I was told it was for parking, which clearly states on their website is included. The resort charge also includes internet which my Gold Elite status provides me. You would think that it would at least provide 2 chairs on the beach, think again. This hotel is not a resort, it is a run down hotel which happens to be located on the beach. We had just spent an incredible week in the mountains and stayed here on our way home.It has taken me a month to write because I was trying to forget the incredibly uncomfortable and disappointing end to our getaway.

The resort is gorgeous and the staff is courteous, efficient and spectacular! Everyone was so friendly and top notch all the way around! The gift /coffee shop employees were especially nice. The bartenders mixed excellent drinks and were so much fun to talk to. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning.

We chose this hotel for my sisters 30th birthday weekend. Overall, great location for the beach and views of the ocean from our room. The pool was nice and the grounds seemed like they were kept up. However, the rooms were somewhat outdated. Also, the cafe at the hotel was very pricey for breakfast, considering the portion sizes. Overall, satisfied with our stay!

Hotel hosted my units Birthday Ball. It was a well catered and hosted event and the hotel was accomodating all the way.

Comfortable rooms with great ocean views. Staff is great, many of whom have been there for decades.

We always avoided going to Hilton Head Island thinking that It won't be that nice.. But out of the blue this place has turned my opinion upside down. The property is really upscale with all the features you need for a luxurious vacation with spa and jacuzzi.. And staff is really nice, the views are amazing this will be our favorite place to stay in future

The hotel has a great pool on the beach and it is a great location if you are looking to stay active, but it is a little old and I experienced a few problems including the toilet flushing is weird because it runs the water at random times, and we could not get on wifi.

Hotel is showing some age. Several places in our room and the lobby have had recent leaks. There was a musty smell in some places as well. Staff is nice and courteous. Hotel just needs a facelift and some mechanical upgrades.
