Food was nice.paid for large carvery got about the same amount of meat as wifes std carvery also didnt get the pork sausage as stated

Needs a lot of improvement. Very poor on the food and the presentation this includes a choice from the menu and also the carvery which we arrive for just before 12 which the food tasted like it was out for hours even the Yorkshire puddings were like rubber mash was a grey colour even my 5 year old wouldn't eat it. Came as a family wasted my money on the food wouldn't eat there again you have to get your own chips own salad own everything nearly..Very poor and very poorly presented. The building itself as been renovated and play area is clean.

Great place for food and try the all you can eat softie machine

Lovely vegetarian pizza, pudding was not to heavy after the meal, good balance of flavours I'd say.

Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere, outside seating area where you can eat. As you sit down, on your right there is a busy main road, to your left a lovely country view. The road is not a distraction. The food is very nice and the staff are very helpful, there are a lot of seating options inside and the prices are quite reasonable. The food is better than the average carvery and a good selection of vegetables(gravy is nice and gravy boats are available) Worth a try

Awesome place for young kids to play whilst you sit down for some nice decent food... can't complain. The kids always want to go here and call it "the rocket pub"... the only problem is the kids don't want to leave !!

Went for Sunday lunch with a group of friends. Staff are really friendly and very helpful. The food was ok, although the meat is sliced very thin so you don't get much of a taste, and I would hazzard a guess that some of the vegetables may have been frozen. Great roast potatoes though. Bottom less ice cream was also a winner. Would still recommend a visit.

Food is average and the softplay is gr8 for the kids, a good hour out with the kids but wouldnt choose to dine there without them.

Not the best experience! When I go out to eat, unless I choose a carvery, I do not expect to have to go and collect my food. Worse still, this being our first time here, we weren't aware of the buzzers that you take from the order point to your table to alert you when your food is ready (we were neither given one nor told to take one). The waiter came from the service area to tell us our meals were ready, then the chef wouldn't let us take the meals, even though we could tell him the table number and what we ordered... because we didn't have a buzzer!! I got quite impatient with them in the end and asked if we were going to stand there all night, whilst the food was getting cold! Then a 45 minute wait until the puddings were served in a quite empty room, didn't inspire me to return there to eat any time soon!! Staff - do not assume all customers have been before!! You are providing a service, it is your job to ensure that your customers know how your establishment works, not ours to find our whilst our meals get cold!!

Nice place for food or just a catch up drinks and the staff are helpful

Took family for a meal on Sunday, carvery was good value, plenty of veg and was fresh, chef was very polite and friendly. Pub was clean and staff were great, will be back.

Took an hour to arrive,the steak was tough,the chips burnt and the pepper sauce was very watery,very disappointed

Thought we would have a Sunday dinner while the granddaughter was in the play area .Never again the food was disgusting

Noisey dining with family food was ok but nothing special

Toilets broke seating broke seating been broke for at least 2 years only ever 1 staff on in child's area leading to a member of staff having a panic attack who should not have been on her own when that busy

Shocking told we have to be off premises by 9pm because we have kids even tho we're out side on your kids park and we come here alot and have never been told this but you can allow a baby to stay in the side that kids are not allowed in how's this fair? And to refuse kids some chips as well is just a joke !

Well I went for the first time today n will never be going again the food was just awful I have never had food at this poor standard we all had carvary n not one of us liked any of it I dnt usually waste my food but today I couldn't bare to eat it how I do like the thought of the play area n little climbing frame n that outside it was just the food that I would not b having again big disappointment in food so sorry to the owner of pub n if owner would like to contact me for a more in detail of food problems then please do I would give a better example of the issue

Really friendly, well presented carvery, tasty well cooked meats with plenty of choice of veg and very reasonable prices. Good desserts too.
I didn't go 5 star cos I do like my food very hot tho for my partner it was perfect.

Nothing was good at this time. The food was cold when we was served, we preordered our steak 3 month ago and they ran out of steak, the steak we did have had peppercorn sauce on without warning and the steaks we ordered was medium and we recieved rare. A group of 30 unhappy customers!

Excellent place for children to play. Good carvery and once one amount of ice cream has been paid for you can return as many times as you want. as much ice-cream as you want.

Superb Food Every time I've visited, visited last week with a few friends for their first time and they enjoyed it so much, we returned a few days later at their request. Will be back again.

Went today and had a carvery.
Everything was cooked to perfection today, Beef was extremely tender and flavoursome, vegetables were all cooked to perfection and there was plenty of choice..

Great place for the grandkids. Only downfall was food let them down this time.

The food was below average, service ok.It,s a shame because the pub has quite a nice ambeance.

Had sausage and mash, sausages dry and wrinkled, must have been on the servery for hours, would not recommend this place.

What an excellent place to eat, lovely food and friendly staff. You couldn't ask for more

It was the first time that my partner and i have eaten here and it will certainly be the last.
We were very disappointed, firstly out starters were brought to us without cutlery, serviettes or side plates and weren't told where to find them.
Then we went to collect our mains from the carvery servery, we had only mains on our plates, I had gammon and egg, rather than it being a nice piece of gammon steak I got 3 pieces of thinly sliced gammon off of a joint, my partner was served a burger, at no point were we told you helped yourself to sides, and as this was the first time that we've eaten here we had no idea we served ourselves.
Again we weren't offered condiments and at no point were we asked if everything was okay with our meal ( if we had have been asked or if the assistants were approachable then the review may have been avoided). Sorry I hate to leave poor reviews but I really would not recommend the highway man. Very disappointing.

First time eating here was a very enjoyable experience food was good love the all you can eat extras

A Good experience spoiled somewhat by a fly and some small mindedness I haven't seen for many years. The food was excellent. I had a calzone and it was fresh and delicious. I love the concept of all you can eat sides including the carvery sides ( So you can have pizza and roast potatoes and gravy. What's not to love) staff were friendly....but the area by the back door in infested with flies to such an extent we had to move....the small mindedness? 50p if I wanted some more be sauce....really come in its not mcdonalds! Shame.

Visited here for a birthday tea for my young grandson but also a catch up with the family, I rang to book the table at the last minute.
The lady that answered the phone, was brilliant... Cannot praise enough!
The meals were lovely & tasty anything from the carvery to burgers and pitza.
For a special surprise (which she didn't have to do) the lady i didnt catch her name sorry, even placed balloons on the table, the family & my little grandson loved.
The staff was fabulous from taking the order, serving our meals . I have nothing but praise well done .and a very massive thank you from myself and my family for making our family meal that extra bit special .

Been a few times. Their food is nice and not expensive at all. The staff are always helpful and pleasant and my little girl loves the play area. A great rainy day lunch time visit just to get out the house for A bit

Went with family for Sunday carvery, very little meat was put on the plate and it was sliced VERY thin. Disappointing

Went for granddaughters birthday treat staff were great but food was terrible (what choices they had left)

Staff couldn't do enough for us. Food good but carvery vegetables coated in butter, taking away the fat free benefits of our five a day.

It is great for the kids and the food is indescribable

Excellent food good value for money friendly and welcoming staff me my husband and 2 children enjoyed our meals kids menu has good choice and my daughter enjoyed building her own meal and puddings are fun for kids came as a bee made with ice ceam. All round good experiance
