Dunwoody Christian Academy Review

My kids have been going here for years! I really love the attention they give all the children. I've noticed most of the negative comments are from ex employees (bitter?), or their friends who have no kids, or affiliation with the school. One guy commented "this place sucks"! Really? If you care about your children getting a good early start on education and a caring environment then this is a great school! I would recommend to any family looking for an awesome learning environment! X10!!!

The teachers are so nice, and my child has learned so much and been so happy here. We love it.

As an educator myself and a secondary caretaker for my nephew, I was shocked at the lack of respect shown by the staff and the arbitrary policies that run counter to the best interests of the children in their care. It is disappointing that the administration for DCA is so unprofessional and inconsiderate...especially given DCA's professed Christian mission. My nephew was treated like a number, not an individual.

I am an ex employee by choice from DCA. I walked out because I was offended and tired of this place under "new mangement"Everything about this job is lacking from the faculity to how this facility is ran. If office staff would be more assertive and more involved with making DCA better place for employees and the internal aspect of the school I guarantee that this review wouldn't be in existence. For the most part, office managenent including the new director sit around all day in the office or act like teenage girls going out for lunch and talk about personal escapades all while selecting their next prey if your not their favorite or in their "click". Alot of the problem is everyone that seems to work here are related or connected in some sense which too me is going to be controversial because once again its the favortism aspect. Too me the whole front staff including some teachers are hipocritical, fake, lack personality and are really about trying to throw the next person under the bus but what really perturbed me was the lack of respect for the kitchen/janitorial staff. The janitorial kitchen/staff was constantly left out of seem like everything. It was like things were done in secrecy. We were only thought about when somethin was needed to be done extra or when people (as in staff) wanted food and not even a Thank you was given. The employee who I was working with was clearly used to this environment and clearly if you like I love it, But for me this was not acceptable along with this being a one person job in my opinion, the work doesnt require two people at all because its not strenuous at all, if a person cant do this job alone, then your just lazy. The only time two people are needed in the kitchen is when the summer program is in play. Just from the inside looking in I would never send my child here due to the fact that nothing to me sets this institution apart from any other. Its suppose to be on a Christianity and Godly type positive vibe but Ive seen nothing Godly inspired in this faciility all I've witnessed are individuals constantly in the office snitching on the low, which in my book deserves no respect. The activities are medicore by far, Ive never seen so many kids go to the park so many times during summer camp, you would have thought these kids lived in the park as much time they spent there. This facility charges enough money to where the activities and the food program could be alot better. Ive never seen the menu repeated soooooo many times. You can definetly have variety and still be healthy. This school needs structure and a positive environment along with a true leader not friends on top of friends and family members. I left because I personally didnt fit into this work enviroment and I felt like I was being "picked" on which is okay with me because my background and goals didnt really coincide with this facility. I felt this job was medicore to what Im used too and needed a job where my talents could be displayed. I was leaving anyway just sooner than later.Personally I liked Mrs.Michelle the old director. She was genuine and a sweetheart. Overall I thank Mrs.Michelle and the former first lady of the church before the change over for the opportunity but I have to say that this place needs work from the curriculum to the kitchen and everything in between. Hell the website for the school looks better than anything in this actual school. Ladies in the front office get out of your football huddles and stop talkin about irrevelant situations, being judgemental and cleary two faced individuals this school would be alot better internally and then maybe just maybe the results would be better, because this definetly isnt your 1st review. Even though I wasnt an employee in the early and middle 2000's it seems that era was when this school, curriculum and staff was at its best. The reviews are almost stellar for that time period.

I absolutely love it here. My little one is learning so much everyday. I love hearing her tell me about her exciting lessons. The teachers are very nurturing and I am very pleased thus far. My little one is learning great social skills as well. I would definitely recommend DCA.
