Best place to eat good and cheap amala with beans soup.
No water to wash hand in a restaurant of that size. That is my experience today. They only got 2 stars because of the food
Opens early for those who are early risers. Neat environment as well
Mouth watering meals. Famous for the local Yoruba dish of Ewedu and amala. One of the popular eating spots in Abuja city. Price of meal is very pocket friendly but get ready to stand in queue to make your orders
There food are delicious with various cuisine especially Yoruba foods. There is also parking spaces for customers
It's a very nice place and neat, it also have a very big parking space
This is a place you have original taste of African cuisine. Amala, ewedu and gbegiri . I visit here at least twice a week.
Iya Oyo Amala also known as Matosh is a popular Amala joint around the Wuye area of the Federal Capital Territory. For lovers of this cuisine mainly from the South Western Nigeria, a visit to Iya Oyo is worth the experience, Amala is served hot with ewedu, okra or vegetable and you have a wide choice of protein and fish and an array of soda's or bottled water to choose from. All these you can rest assured are prepared under reasonably hygienic conditions, a trial will surely convince you, but come early just before lunch time or be prepared to join the ever increasing cue! Enjoy your meal!!
Food is very nice, properly prepared. I recommend. Good joint for amala.
A local joint located in the heart of Abuja for local delicacies in a semi-traditional setting
If you want local Yoruba delicacy in Abuja . This is the place to go . Queues are long , but you get value for money spent .
Food is delicious and affordable but the queue at noon is something else.
Specialised restaurant of Yoruba menus of high quality and taste.
Nice eatery for Amala, rice, beans gbegiri and Swede. Goat meat and assorted meat are the standard protein here.
The most popular place to eat Nigerian dish in Abuja serving one of the best African dish in abuja
The place was cool, good reception and crazy nice food
Best Amala spot in the whole of Abuja
I highly recommend
The long queue is totally unnecessary. They should also explore technology for payments.
There is zero hype about Iya Oyo Amala. However the place is fully packed most times and one has to queue to pay for food which is disturbing to me. Nonetheless, the quality of food served at Iya Oyo Amala deserves every single second of waiting on that queue.
The best amala place is abuja. Has the real ewedu elegusi with Smith gbegiri and amala feledele
Really affordable food and one of the best place to eat in Abuja
Restaurant for amala and other nicely prepared foods. Not very upscale though
Good food if ur looking to feel d local cuisines....
Please, do not bother with anything but the staple meal - abula, that is; Amala, ewedu, gbegiri and stew. That's the real deal.
The mode of service is convenient for staff and customers. They didn't try to hard on the ambience. It's not contemporary, it's comfortably Nigerian.
You should definitely try it out.
The amala was good...the environment? Local. I guess it was designed to be so....people still flocking there though
Amala at its finest. You won't get better taste and experience else where in Abuja.
OK... Abuja gave me a love... This Amala and Gbegire/ewedu were on point... Please, check it out and thank me later...
If you love Yoruba food then you must visit this place
Native buka, serving authentic Yoruba amala in Abuja.
Not the best service and the queue can be outrageous, but the food is good and nicely priced. Parking, also provided.
Insane! I saw a queue and you know that the crowd control is efficient and the food and pricing combo are great
Ok. Wasn't as busy as usual. Food was tasty with a traditional flavour to it .
Delicious food, clean environment, efficient staff.
If you don't mind standing in line for your food, and eating out of metal plates, then this place is for you. It delivers authentic African food at a very affordable price. Its menu is nothing elaborate but for its clientele is adequate. What do I mean?? It's signature dish is Amala (yam flour) served with Ewedu (a soup of Yoruba origin) with a combination of assorted beef, and offal. This is what people come here for...they also serve other dishes like rice and beans, plain white rice and pepper stew, but I have to say they are not nearly as popular as the Amala and Ewedu...so if you're ever in the area and looking for budget food in a rustic environment, check out this place. Points to note, its very down to earth dining don't expect anything fancy.
