For local delicacies, dont bother looking for elsewhere . This is the place to be
The food is nice if you want Yoruba delicacy but the queues can be tiring most times. One is already exhausted standing in a long queue before getting served.
One of the best amala spots within Abuja city centre
Like Amala and ewedu, looking for a place to eat this in Abuja? Then Iya Oyo is it. No frills, cheap and cheerful.
All you ask for in Amala you shall find here. Also other kinds of "solids" and Rice and Beans too is wonderful. They also have assorted meats and Fish.
But things you have to Note before embarking on a trip to this eatery: NO POS , No Transfers or any kind of Mobile Payments, It's strictly Cash. Also No home delivery.
Food is always steaming hot, tastes good, and all at reasonable prices
Their foods are superb, they serve much soup or stew to customers
Okay so I came in from Lagos and that alone should translate that I know my amala, so to say that Iya Oyo has it locked is a massive understatement, don't take my word for it... Go on down and experience pure amala bliss...
Shucks I should have taken pictures.
The queue for getting your order is too cumbersome for me
Food is great but waiting time is minimum of 25 minutes standing up in a queue to get to serving point during peak hours.
However, the meal is worth waiting b3cause it is real value for money
Never gets old, I ve enjoyed the amala and beans here for 8 years.
Note: only cash is accepted here
My 2nd time been here and as u can see in the uploaded photos,i am having a big time fun.my challenge is just the queue, u got to queue for so long before it gets to ur turn
If you are looking for one of the best Restaurant were local food is served in abuja , this is the place. Great food , really affordable. Only issue is you have to bring your cash along . No Transfer ,No POS.
It's a great place to eat amala. Except for the queue when one wants to purchase food
Lovely place for local youruba style of cuisine. expect no luxury treatment at this place.
If you want Amala in Abuja, just go here!! Do not say I did not tell you! The very best!
I enjoy yourself n there amala with gbegiri n ewedu soup
Food is good and affordable with many animal protein options . Only downside is that you will have to queue during rush hour
Good food, enough parking space for the crowd it gets. Downsides, long queue to get food, no POS or transfer (cash transactions only). Customer service is average, some are courteous, some are annoying. Would cost around a thousand naira (more or less) to eat there
The food is good. What i dislike is the fact that you have to stand on queues holding your plate or takeaway pack like beggars, no pos services and the staff are very rude. I wont recommend
I love their amala and fried meat. Buy me a meal there anytime.
Not sure if its cool washing your own plates in a buka, but if you don't mind... then it is ok
Great place (local mama put) where u can eat amala, ewedu, rice bean etc.
Excellent place to get local food. I particularly like there pounded yam with vegetable soup.
Local food nothing special but always long queue from 10:am till 3:00pm
You might be deluded to thinking you are in South-west Nigeria for a while. Great Amala
Looking for home made amala? Stop the search at Iya Oyo and thank me later.
Amazing local dishes. Best Amala plug in Abuja. Strictly cash transactions though. POS and bank transfers are not acceptable. The queues can be really long too
Iya Oyo Amala Place is where African Meals are sold to the public, located along Olusegun Obasanjo Way, Wuye in FCT, Abuja.
Meals sold are, Amala, Beans, White Rice,Fried Plantain [Dodo]
No P.O.S. All purchases are paid with cash.
Very nice Amala with Abula.
Did I forget to mention the food there is within budget?
Don't forget at every point in the afternoon (between 1 pm and 2:30 pm) of a week day, there will be at least 15 people before you on the queue.
Delicious. There is room for improvement. The long queue is scaring.
