Ordered:

1) Gumbo
2) Ceviche
3) Spaghetti
4) Lamb Lasagna

Ceviche was too sour and was not well executed. Gumbo was nice but flavour was not very balanced, likewise with the spaghetti. Lamb lasagna was executed well. Overall 3/5, felt like they have all the ingredients but couldn t bring them together to make the meal truly great.

Disappointing New Year's Eve dinner.

Disappointing New Year's Eve dinner.

1. Snack was served warm and it felt like it had been sitting out for hours.

2. Lamb saddle was very very rare.

3. The chocolate baklava was so tough we needed a knife to cut through it.

Completely Ridiculous considering the accolades it gets as well as the price for the New Year's Eve menu.

Good food but I have been overcharged on my credit card, they probably thought 15% for tip was not enough.... So just be careful about that as what you sign for on the check may end up being edited somehow...

We had the fried oysters to start and they were crispy and light and didn't leave a slick of grease in your mouth. My husband had the steak and the vegetable of the day...white wine braised mustard greens and he raved about them. I had the cobia and I have to say it was the singular best piece of fish I have ever had! I ate the last two bites of that with some of the most delicious mashed potatoes (of course, they had a fancier name than that!) as if it was my last meal! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anybody and look forward to going back again some day!!

This is an excellent restaurant that continues to receive James Beard awards and nominations. It's evident that they attract a sophisticated crowd, but the atmosphere doesn't make you feel like you're in an upscale restaurant. There's an attractive dining room with a bar, and outdoor seating for the nicer days. The menu is French-inspired while utilizing popular Louisiana ingeredients. They have some pretty unique entrees and small plates, as well as dishes that rotate daily. From my experience, the food is as well-prepared as it gets. The flavors are very good, but the highlight is really the flawless execution and perfect balance of each dish. Service is very friendly as well. If you're a foodie or just in search of an elegant lunch/dinner, I'd highly recommend adding Herbsaint to your to-visit list!

Absolutely delicious! I recommend the Riesling wine flight and shrimp and fish ceviche. The soup of the day was vegetable with lots of chickpeas - stunning! It's the recipe you would want to make on a breezy fall Sunday. Wait staff was friendly and attentive too.

Fantastic califlower curry soup. Everything good and reasonably priced for what you get. Lunch was so good that I returned the same day for dinner. Service is top notch. Atmosphere great. This place is definitely going through a very cool phase. I think it has lasting power

We enjoyed the small plates more than the entrees. The gnocchi and pancetta along with the soup of the day was fantastic, not to mention the spicy jalapeno cocktail. For the mains, our table got the crispy goat, Zabuton steak, and glazed jumbo shrimp. The entrees fell a little flat for us; definitely lacking the flavor we were expecting. Again good food, just not pushing any strong flavor profiles.

Our original brunch plans fell through so we decided to come here after seeing all of their awards. I started with the fried oysters which were great. Even my husband's salad was delicious. I had the duck for an entree and it was one of the best duck dishes I've ever had. We ended with the chocolate mousse which was the perfect ending to a great meal.

Love this place for lunch or dinner. Modern and simple dinning area with some nice outside seating during the good weather months. This is a great place for a power lunch or elegant dinner and Donald Link's first main restaurant which he started with Susan Spicer of Bayonna. I literally never have a bad meal there and you can't miss with the fish of the day. If you feel adventurous try the frog leg appetizers or the sinful Housemade Spaghetti with Guanciale and Fried-Poached Egg. It's a place not to miss in New Orleans!

My wife and I sat at the bar and had dinner this past Saturday eve. It was absolutely amazing! I wish I got our bartenders name she was very nice and right on top of everything! Mixed greens salad was really good, the gnocchi with pancetta and lemon oil to die for! And also the tuna crudo. This place is a must go to !

I will start by saying the food was excellent. However, unfortunately everything else was not. We sat and waited for 10 minutes with no server. We then mentioned something about this and a hurried server came to the table. It appeared that he was not our server and clearly was irritated by having to take care of us. When we asked him for details about some of the menu items he was visibly upset and gave us one word answers. The rest of the dinner, we had a few different people come to the table, spend a minimal amount of time with us, and not look at us. They appeared to be visibly unhappy about serving us. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, but this was very disappointing.

Incredible experience all around. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is very pleasant (we sat outside with our dog), and the food is PHENOMENAL. We had the seasonal squash salad and gumbo to start, followed by the duck confit and house-made pasta topped with a fried poached egg. omg. You guys. It was so good I can t even. We had the brown sugar banana tart for dessert and heartily agreed on our waddle home that it was one of the best meals we ve had this year. Do yourselves a favor and TREAT YO SELF to a meal at Herbsaint.

Very nice meal at Herbsaint. I had the house spaghetti with a fried poached egg and crispy goat with lentils and rice. Margaret wasn't hungry so had lump crab in a water melon broth, lots of my goat and half the cheese plate we shared. All washed down with a bit of Oregon Pinot Noir and California Zinfandel. $163 plus tip.

I'm sure the food would have been amazing but the bartender, female behind the bar obviously was having a bad day, assumed I wouldn't tip because of my race or something else but it was very clear she was not going to be providing me excellent service. I went next door to Marcellos and it was incredible! Great service, great food, WELCOMING environment

Wow. After a wonderful meal consisting of specials - shishito peppers, soup of the day and heirloom tomatoes on bruschetta - along with steaks and a side of stewed okra, we finished the night off with dessert and Herbsaint on the rocks. Service and milieu were outstanding.

Herbsaint was a delicious and beautifully presented experience of French/Louisianan cuisine. It was the best food we ate while in New Orleans and the service was excellent. A few of the dishes were so good that I will not soon forget the experience or the time spent there. The selection of wines and liquors was well curated, the desserts amazing, and small plates and entrees were equally delectable. This would be a must go spot for me when next visiting New Orleans.

Such a horrible experience, could barely get any service and sitting at the bar. I sat down at bar 1st and was served last. Others that arrived after me received bread but I had to ask. Ordered gumbo that arrived cold, pushed the bowl forward and just waited for someone to assist. After about 5 mins, I flagged down a young lady that was cleaning wine glasses.

Then for the main course (I ordered the large shrimp) and of course my food came out last. Such a bad experience for such a nice restaurant but I guess the other guests had a great experience because they seemed to get white tablecloth service

Love Herbsaint! If you are looking for a great spot that serves great food in a nice setting and not going to break your bank, this is the place.

The food here is creole influenced American, I would say, with lovely flavors. I had Louisiana shrimp served on farro, every bite is a slightly different yum. The shrimp is tender, hint of peppery blend that is smoky, and spicy. The farro grain cooked to perfection with chanterelle mushroom (I think). The okra with tomato is excellent. The hint of acidity from tomato combined with okra is just the marriage of a good dish.

if you are here for one dish and one dish only...order homemade spaghetti with fried-poached egg. It is probably the only dish we ate all of it and cleaned the plate and thought about should we order another? It is perfect creaminess, simple with fresh grounded pepper, olive oil and little salt. Perfect dish topped with egg when you break it the yolk sauces the dish perfectly. Very yum

Drinks are solid, no skimping on the alcohols. The Mexican firing squad is lovely although I would like a little more bite with habanero. Herbsaint drink is not on the menu but serves lovely with a cup of water ice and sugar infused Herbsaint. Fun to watch and drink!

Great food & ambience. Ordered the gnocchi which was excellent . Outdoor seating has heat lamps, which was nice. Staff is super friendly. All around great restaurant, I d definitely come back.

Everything was amazing; service, food, drinks, setting, ambiance. I had a fantastic time and a memorable evening. I don't usually like fish and the swordfish special blew me away, the fried oysters redefined my paradigm.

Excellent food, excellent service. A nice upscale setting in the heart of the New Orleans CBD. Definitely not a 'jeans and t-shirt' place (business casual and up seems to be the order of dress here), but the food is innovative and absolutely delicious. Not gimmicky, not touristy. This is what a top-tier restaurant looks like.

Yum

Ahhh Herbsaint! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! OUTSTANDING service across the board from everyone. Great wine selection. To start we had the watermelon gazpacho with crab and the cerviche (spicy and delicious) for mains we had the fish of the day (pompono, it was PHENOMENAL) and the goat. The portions were all very generous, this is not the type of place you leave hungry. For desert we had chocolate mousse and the banana butter tart. Super tasty! I had such a great night. Really special and magical place.

Delicious upscale creole food at its best. Recommended to us by a relative and we recommend it to everyone! We had some daily specials that were wonderful. The mushroom and lamb lasagna was amazing! I hope they offer that again.

excellent food and service

excellent food and service

I'm giving a 4 out of 5 because of the slowness and the sweetness of the desserts.
it was too sweet. a southern tendency I think.

Outstanding dishes, beautiful presentation, attentive service. Standouts were shrimp ceviche, short rib with horseradish cream and potato cake, spaghetti with guanciale and poached eggs, saffron fideo. Everyone in our party of 8 loved what they had, and the tastes of everything everyone else had too.
Worth the trip. Beats Commander's Palace for innovation and fresh thinking.
