Great sunny day for a walk! 5 deer let me watch them for a good 15 minutes! Hoping to see the owls next trip

We checked out Heckrodt for the first time with our 7 year old yesterday and it was awesome. The nature center has some very cool live animals and several informative stations. There was also lots to touch and feel to make nature come alive.

Once we went on our hike, the place really popped though. The trails were well marked and easy to navigate. A good portion of them over the wetter areas were raised boardwalks so that was nice. Best of all, we saw a TON of wildlife up close. There were 3 large turkeys right by the trail when we started. We also saw turtles, ducks, a snake, squirrels/chipmunks, and 3 deer up close.

The trails themselves were pretty flat and short so nothing ever felt cumbersome. The scenery itself wasn't all that special but the folks that run this place have made up for it in other ways.

I'll definitely be looking to come back again and so should you. This place isn't talked about all that much in the Fox Cities but I know I'm going to spread the word about it.

A nice facility and walking trails. We saw abundant wildlife. Hopefully in 2021 it will be fully open. Porta-john desperately needed servicing.

Wonderful walk ways through the wetlands, constant improvement to the facilities, trails, and educational programs. Good selection of wildlife seen and very knowledgeable staff.

Great place to go if you want to spend some time outside with nature! They have an awesome kids playground.

Although I didn't get a view of larger animals it was awesome to be among the birds and turtles and other small creatures. The walking paths were clean and set-up to keep the environment natual

We went to the candlelit hike. The volunteers were great! We had a wonderful time!

Quiet, friendly, educational. But mosquitoes, depending on season and time of day.

Great place to walk and get a little nature. Always see something when we go there, this time it was a fawn. So tiny and cute.

Great new solar panels must help power the pavilion and a free stage 2 electric vehicle charger to get solar juice on a sunny day. Great winter time recreation area. Small but nice.

Our family loves spending time here. There is always something to see and do. Our visit can be short or long depending on the day we have planned. There are picnic tables available onsite. There are 4 outdoor trails to choose from (3 half mile, and 1 full mile).

Great place in the midst of Menasha. Can't wait to see what wildflowers there will be in the Spring!

Beautiful area, well maintained paths and visitor center

Nice easy trails. Good place to spend time with the family. Can get a little crowded / noises. All in all, a nice place to get away to for a little while.

Love bringing my kids to go on a walk. Lots of wildlife.

Free admission and Well groomed trails. Soon to be, walk among the canopy of trees coming soon. So peaceful.

Great place everyone who likes the out doors and nature should visit

Truly wonderful place for children to learn, touch, smell and see all the wonders of nature. Grandson(7) loves Heckrodt Nature Center

Best nature preserve in the Fox Valley. Small, but outperforms Bubolz and 1000 Islands.

Great family place. Even an 18 month old can enjoy. Deer, turkey and birds were friendly and photogenic.

Awesome outdoor play area for kids with a zipline, slides, and obstacle courses.

Beautiful place for a walk in the woods / marshland. Frequent wildlife sightings. Indoor exhibit with turtles, fish and snakes. Park of the walking trail is being rebuilt as of summer 2016 and is totally closed. Still a generous amount of trail is open to walking.

This is a great place to come and get about a half hour walk in while seeing some wildlife. The turkey's are the best.

Great boardwalk trails. Deer are very comfortable with your presence. Beautiful place to get your steps in.

This place is amazing! Arrive early in the day and walk slowly through the trails and you will see dozens of animals! Deer, turkey, ducks, geese, birds of all kinds! And many others.

The deer are tame here and animals plenty beauty is here.

I agree with the earlier reviewer that the host was very rude. Because of her actions I will never return and never recommend it to anyone else. The host very rudely told my wife and I we couldn't bring our dog their. Dogs must alter the entire balance of nature on this wetland. Weird because we could take our dog in more pristine higher profile parks such as Jasper and Banff National Parks in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. While leaving my dog urinated causing a major environmental panic. Menasha having industrial businesses next to major bodies of water....completely acceptable. My dog urinating over snow over grass.....completely unacceptable. Of course the signs completely obsolve her of any wrong doing. Everyone always reads the signs. We just moved to the area and find this unfriendly and uninviting.

One of our favortie places to be. Love the kids obstacle course! Great for young kids. And fun to see all the animals in the nature center and on the trails.

It's just a wonderful place to relax and take in the world around us.

The kids and I saw a doe and 2 fawns and turtles tons of dragon fly

Nice little nature preserve just out of menasha on 114/3RD St. Good opportunities to get up close to deer, turkey, and various bird species through the year. Usually quiet nice place to enjoy a walk in the swamp. Mosquitoes can be bad at times but overall very scenic throughout!

Absolutely beautiful this (mid-April) time of year. Respectful visitors, beautiful fallen trees, ducks, moss, a near-but-far accessable wonderland.

There is a variety of wildlife to see. There are deer, cranes, owls, turtles, geese, duck, etc. The trails are very accessible.

Love bringing my kids here. Nice well maintained. Love the turtle pond. You will see deer and able to see them pretty close.

Beautiful place, lots of dear, woodpeckers, wildlife. Very peaceful!
