This hotel is a Days Inn masquerading as a Hyatt. The location is great. The water pressure in the shower is great. The AC/heat vents, the carpet and probably a few other places I was scared to look at desperately needed cleaning. There are no curtains in any of the rooms. Only those slatted blinds. Which means you will never get the room dark. Ever. During the daylight hours you won't even get it dark enough to need a lamp. At night you will have no problem getting around without lamps but will need them to read most likely. Also the minimum furniture that is in the room shows much wear. Like it was purchased at a garage sale or something in the 70's.

We stayed here couple of days ago and are very pleased with the service, room and facilities.

We had great breakfast buffet with lots of choice, nice bathroom with heated mirror and nice shower.

Definately a place where we will come back in the future.

Make sure to meet Bruce during breakfast.

For a Hyatt Regency, this was a disappointing hotel. There are so many competitive, lower priced hotel chains with more updated and comfortable rooms at this point. This hotel is past the point of needing renovation to the rooms. However, customer service was good and the breakfast buffet was really nice. You can't beat the location.

I have never experienced a worse place to stay in a very long time! There was no coffee in the common area in the morning. The check in process was so sad. I felt like I was doing something wrong. Not feeling very welcome. Not a single feeling of being welcomed for being there. A very cold place to stay. The bed in the room was very uncomfortable and about 6 in the morning some one felt it necessary to have their TV at full blast, that it sounded as if the TV was on in our room. For the area we stayed, I'm so disappointed in the accommodations. I will not stay there again. And will make sure my friends know this as well. This hyatt needs to learn how to accommodate the pleasure traveler, not just the business traveler.

Run down Hyatt, rooms are aged, no service, too expensive for the value. Next day I went to a Fairfield, very nice ambiance, cozy lobby area for working or delivered dinner, and less expensive.

I stayed at this hotel in Dec 2018 with my family. Unfortunatelly this hotel is the worst one I stayed in 2018.
1. The room was old and the carpet was dirty. There was no way I can let my daughter to walk on the carpet with her bare foot. The worst part was underneath the bed. There was a thick layer of dust and all kinds of trash. This can't be the standard of a four star hotel.
2. The heater was very very noise. It was hard to fall asleep.
3. There was a $16/night self parking fee. They don't tell you when you book the hotel.
4. When I wanted to check out 2 days early, they insisted that they have to change me an "early termination fee".
5. The pool is only for people at least 16 years old. Not friendly to family with young kids.

The only upside is that there is an AMC right next the hotel. Overall I am very disappointed.

The staff were mostly behind-the-scenes and unobtrusive on our banquet. The food was surprisingly good. However, the microphones and speakers in the banquet hall were sub par and sometimes it was difficult to understand what a speaker was saying due to the poor quality.

I got the room for the NJ Gran fondo and this is the best place to stay. The start line is right there in front of the hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. Great location for nearby bars and restaurants. There's also a movie theater location next door. By far my favorite hotel for the gran fondo ride.

Decent at first...looked pretty modern once I got settled in I began to realize the carpet was dirty and there wasn't sufficient linen on the bed it had a smell. Not to mention the neighbors constant complaints of noise even when I wasn't even in the room. Never again ....

Friendly staff, and suggestions in the design that this was once a classy and nice place to visit ... but, it is now tired. My room was pretty well-worn ... maybe it was an effort to go with 90's chic now distressed.

Small things like the shower faucet handle looping infinitely, so that it was an adventure to ensure that I had the right temperature. The desk surfaces were dinged and dingy. I don't think that the room was dirty, but it didn't feel clean. The bed was creaky, and not especially comfortable. Incredibly thin blankets. The toilet lid shifted, uncomfortably. And, the list goes on.

Nothing super terrible, but the compounding of the small things made it a "m'eh" experience.

Also some odd design / layout things. The dresser was tucked in behind the door of the room. The closet was tiny. The toilet should have been closer to the sink counter. This meant getting out of the shower required a couple of steps across the toilet to get to the towel rack. Also, the toilet paper dispenser required a complete 180-degree stretch and over a couple of feet. Maybe hang dispenser at a 90-degree angle - underneath the counter deck, and move the toilet closer to the counter.

Again, small things. But the cumulative effect ...

Clean, nice rooms, friendly staff, and good pricing. Parking was included as well.

Highly recommended location for the Morristown area. It's walking distance from the park and lots of restaurants and bars.

I too agree that this property does not live up to the Hyatt name. I must say the staff is accommodating and makes every effort to be welcoming.
My communication with Jessica and Karen was really good. The rooms has a smell, they really need a total renovation. We had a few rooms and I was not happy with any of them. The elevator numbers looked awful, just not presentable. To top it off the parking garage attendant was a total disappointment, that will receive a official written complaint. My event space was decent and the maintenance staff was helpful. Overall, just ok.

Nice place to stay if you are traveling to these parts of New Jersey. The downtown based hotel is clean and elegant. It had excellent service not to mention the location. The spa indoors seems appealing while the decor impresses. The breakfast options are awesome along with a nice bar and an open air seating outside. Spacious rooms, remodelled interiors, well lit hall ways, old world charm outside with modern conveniences inside. Recommended.

This hotel is a mess. The elevators are rickety. The rooms are disgustingly dry, and the beds are unsleepable. Don't let the pretty facade of the lobby fool you. This one needs a lot of work to live up to Regency level.

Bottom Line (on top): They charge you for wifi which is outlandish at this price point, and the shuttle is constantly booked up. Do not stay here for business travel.

The Positives:
1) The room was very nicely decorated and laid out with plenty of space and modern design. It's ideal for a quiet, undisturbed evening.
2) They will also comp wifi if you are in town working for some of the larger companies in the area, so be sure to mention that when booking.
3) Friendly staff

The Negatives:
1) The one small shuttle was booked solid every day during my trip. I was told this is the norm
2) Standard wifi is $7.95 (sept 2014) per day, and was so slow I could hardly download small attachments. As I mentioned, mine was comped but most will have to pay.
3) TV reception was pretty bad. I rarely watch TV, but I tried to catch the Giants game and had to end up turning it off.

The hotel is in a nice location, near lots of delicious places to eat! I thought the beds were very comfortable. The security deposit on the rooms is a little bit high. It was $50 a night. Most places are just $50 total for the stay so I thought that was a little bit ridiculous. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

I like the convenience and the friendliness of the staff. I have stayed about 15 days in the last two years and even when there have been minor issues, the staff has been very helpful and supportive. I definitely recommend anyone staying in Morristown consider this location.
