The staff is so friendly and helpful. I love the dance classes!
The staff is so friendly and helpful. I love the dance classes!
Lots of program/class options. Plenty of machines even when it gets super busy. 2 areas to work on weights. Friendly staff and a clean facility. Nice to help get myself in shape again!
This is the 6th YMCA that I am a member of. (Chicago, Seattle, Wheaton, Door County & Anaheim) I lift weights, use the machines and play PICKLEBALL, daily. The staff and ALL "picklers" are the friendliest and most respectful people I have ever played with. Well organized games, respectful in every way and ALL follow the rules. I maintain my 24 hour fitness membership (24th year) BUT THE Buda "Y" staff are A+ 5 STARS!!!
There are lots of classes at various times slots with different instructors which makes each class unique! The app is nice for ensuring you get registered for the class. More members means more classes so looking forward to the new year!
Newly expanded location with large and clean facilities. Staff is less experienced than Townlake location but friendly. Shower pressure is too high and cannot be adjusted. Swim team in the mornings keeps 2-3 lanes busy, but it's great energy to have around.
I m v always greeted. My question are always answered promptly. All areas are clean.
I love the way the Y is a place that has activities from the youngest to the oldest member of the family it makes it easy for families to coordinate activities for the community as well as everyone with little to no hassles thank you Y
This facility is neat, clean, and fun. I am leaving this review because of the outstanding customer service Billy has given me. After searching for an answer and talking to a couple of other people, she was able to answer all my questions quickly. Great job.
This a great location with friendly staff and excellent equipment. I've been going there for 2 years, and highly reccomend it!
I agree with Matthew, it has been a good experience for both of us.
Pros: Love the gym, equipment is nice, place is clean and safe. Bathroom is very big and has blow dryers and many showers.
Cons: Staff are all teenagers. They either care too much about their job and are or couldn't give two shakes of a pig's tail. Let's hope you encounter the ones who don't care because the ones who do will harass you until the dawn of time. I was once harassed by a staff member for putting a tissue into the garbage can. She told me it was too full and it was going to over fill. Who's job is it to take it out? Not the clients.
Otherwise this gym would be five stars.
I'm VERY happy that there's now a recumbent cross-trainer machine. Due to three knee replacements I'm unable to use regular bikes. And when I took the tour of the equipment room several months ago the Y in Kyle/Buda didn't have anything recumbent that I could use. BUT now they do!!!!! I had a terrific upper-body workout AND lower. I will come back!! And I heard that adult pool exercise classes have been moved to the bigger pool and that's GREAT too!!! Alrhough I hope the temperature isn't as cold as it used to be in the big pool because that cold water hurts both knees, so I quit coming to water aerobics too. But I will check it out!! Thanks!
Pretty good gym, small weight area. Overall pretty good. My family and I were generally happy until we had to cancel. I have been a member here for years but moved and had to cancel... cancelled on the 9th of the month when my membership was set to renew on the 15th. Was told I would have to pay on the 15th regardless for the following month. Forcing a customer to pay for the month after they cancel is a bad business practice. I m going to pay the month they are requiring and never recommend another person use their facility. It will cost me $82 but the YMCA $1000s in customer I don t recommend. They could have figured it out for a long time member but basically told me I had no options. Businesses don t need 10 days to stop a draft...I can call the bank in ten minutes and get it done. It s 2019... Just a cheap way to get more money.
I would like to commend your employees Shana & Bethany for the actions they took on the morning of 9/24/14. A member with a dead battery approached the front counter inquiring about the availability of jumper cables. Shana said she thought she had some and asked Bethany to cover the counter while she went and made sure. Shana then moved her car into position to attempt jumping the truck. I am a retired Police Officer and went out to see if I could be of assistance and as a safety. I believe both Shana & Bethany by their actions exemplify the philosophies of the Y.
Friendly and busy place, lots going on, plenty to choose from.
The Buda/Hays YMCA provides a positive, health-centered environment with activities for whole families to engage in, both together and individually under the same roof. The staff, as a whole, fosters an attitude of respect, kindness, and tolerance. You never feel dumb or silly for asking a question or seeking guidance. They also really care about you and your children's well-being and personal growth.
One of the nicest YMCAs I have seen. Lots of "older adult" activities, yoga, Zumba etc. and I am very fond of my personal trainer who has been working with me for the past 6 months.
The YMCA has a very friendly staff and offers great class.
Friendly staff, amazing facilities, so many classes to choose from. Love this Y!
For the most part it's not crowded, my little girls love going to the child care program.. Always clean and the staff are always in a good mood
Variety of group exercise classes. Lots of different classes at multiple times with a variety of quality instructors. Very kind childcare staff. Welcoming front desk. Very clean facility.
Excellent place for children to develop their skills
LOVE the yin yoga classes and the pool and the pickleball. Great weight room. Friendly and clean, I'm grateful it's so close to me! But you can go to any YMCA, even out of town!
The gym is 4 star. It's got good equipment and quite a few machines. I would give it 5 stars if it was bigger. There is a running track that is right next door if you don't feel like getting on the cardio equipment. The kiddie pool is likely the best feature of this place. It is awesome. We have had a membership here for over a year. It is by far the best gym in northern hays county.
For a non profit they are pricing their services as a for profit gym. $205/wk for weekly kids summer camp. Thanks but no thanks. This isn't Westlake Hills.
The Hays YMCA property has ample parking and is well kept. The facilities are clean and easily accessible. The Y staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful. The equipment in the cardio/machine room is generally well maintained. The free weight area is well stocked and roomy enough to accommodate the busier times. The gym area is always ship shape. Management is calmly efficient, and every time I've interacted with them, they have been very professional and helpful, while maintaining the warmth of the Y. Cool programs and classes for all ages. Fairly priced. Overall, the Hays YMCA is a treasure for the local community. Our family loves the Hays YMCA!
I LOVE the yoga classes at the Y! They are fantastic!!
Awesome! Absolutely love the programs and people, equipment and amenities here!
Before I went to Buda YMCA I read bad reviews. But I went to see for myself. Let me tell you it is a fantastic place. Great classes and very helpful young and older people there to help you with anything you need. The dressing rooms are clean and not freezing! Where I went before was so cold. Loving working out here.
I enjoy the Men's basketball programs that are offered at your facility!
Probably the best YMCA in the area! Clean, friendly staff and great child services.
Love everything about this YMCA. the staff is so nice is unbelievable.
Our Pickleball community in Buda owes a great big THANK YOU to the Hays YMCA for their HUGE help in promoting and hosting our 1st Annual Pickleball Tournament! They provided assistance to every request we made to make this a fun adventure for any of our members who had never entered a Pickleball tournament. Our courts were spotless! Our spectators viewing areas were easily accessible! The YMCA helped with photography and public relations and enrollment! Jill and Roxanne were awesome to work with. The YMCA allotted extra time and space for our tournament! We just can t Thank You enough for your support. Thank you, Thank you from Yvonne Mansour and Lisa Williams, Ambassadors for USAPA.
Get sauna fixed doesn t go past 160 takes more time to get a good sweat going used to hit 190 when it would turn on....very inconvenient for people who are in a rush /// update sauna is fixed
Great location with a variety of workout equipment, classes, and activities. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Working out here is fine. Lots of weights and tread mills. Never have a problem getting a work out in. Been here usually twice a week and even, rarely, four times week for the past 8 years. They still don't know my name.....unless it is time to re new my membership. Then, all of a sudden, they know me.
My son signed up playing basketball league last winter. He really liked his coach. He worked hard developing his skills outside of practice. His coach praised him and he had some playing time at the game. That was until the last two game of the season, he saw the true color of his coach and he was heartbroken. All his coach care was winning the game and let his elite players play all the way. He joined YMCA because he just wanted to have fun and to develop skills. That wasn t the case.
Frustrated. They have the same manipulative membership practices as Golds Gym. They intentionally ask you to jump thru unnecessary hoops to get discounts or change or cancel your account in hopes to discourage anything but upgrades and more $$$ for them. Not what I'd expect from how YMCA portrays itself.
Closed Sunday, was able to exercise without issue, weights and machines were regularly sanitized. You need a mask to enter.
Love this Y. Their early morning (starting before 6am) exercise classes are perfect for busy lifestyles!
Great place to workout, family friendly, nice employees, and something to do for everyone.
YMCA has different rooms and activities. Being spread out is great, so you can do the activities that you want and don't feel like your on top of someone else. The variety of classes is great- I can lift and get weight workout with Body Pump. I can get my cardio in with Body Combat. Then when I need a little peace and stress release I can do Yoga. All the instructors are nice. Then if you want to mix it up there are the typical gym machines and weights. I like it all- its all about choices at the Y.
We had a wonderful time being shown around the gym. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new work out experience.
I can really only rate the exercises at the pool for seniors. I think they are excellent and fill a great need. Now that there are
not such strict rules on attendance for silver sneakers it is much more of a service to seniors. We cannot foresee what will keep us from attending. Thank you YMCA!
My boys have a loved being able to go swimming at the Y. All the lifeguards does a great job following all the precautions. The pool isn t crowded (due to a minimum number of families being able to reserve a time slot), so we are all able to social distance safely. It s been a great outlet for my boys due to our routine not being the same and following social distancing rules.
Decent place but don't ever enroll your children in the swimming program. They do not have good teachers or management. The classes were cut down in time as well and they spend half that time with free swim. When I asked the supervisor of the program how the instructor could let out ten minutes early she said it was up to their discretion. This makes no sense and I will be contacting someone higher in the chain of command. Very sad program compared to when I learned to swim at the y.
