Home was not clean. Turned cushions on sofa up and dead bug laying there with old candy pieces. Obviously the extra hours needed for cleaning did not pertain to this house. Lots of maintenance needed here. Lint trap on dryer under the carport is completely clogged with lint. Soon as we got there next day a storm came thru and knocked out our modem so with only streaming services at this house we didn t have any way of entertaining the guest or little ones. Owner /Rental office prob could have Bought another one to replace it. Our phone was also plugged into the modem . If we didn t have cell phones we wouldn t have had anyway of calling if an emergency happened. Overall I would not rent this house again . Probably use another rental company anyway. We did enjoy the location . 1 star for me.

Rented us a moldy house. It's been over 3 hours and no response.... Only voicemails. Do not rent from them.

Absolutely horrible service. Was promised day after day to have the dryer and refrigerator fixed in the house. We stayed at King George V. It never was fixed. We were there for a family vacation, 12 of us and not having a dryer that worked. The homeowner agreed to compensate us $100, what a joke. Called them every day and was promised that they would be out later that day or the next morning to fix it they never ever came and fixed it. This post probably won't stay up long. they'll probably delete it but hopefully it'll be up long enough for some people to see and save them the headaches.

Flawless vacation. Way better than the realty company we used the previous two years.

We rented Island Paradise in Avon through Hatteras Realty for four nights last week. We got there to check in at the house and noticed immediately that the smell was awful, inside and out. The house was dirty and the mattress covers and pillow covers looked like they hadn t been washed in ten years. There were stains all over them. The description said upscale resort furnishings . Most of the doors to the exterior decks wouldn t lock and the house definitely didn t look like the pictures online. We drove back home that night after checking for alternative rentals online and not finding anything available. We received a call the next day from someone at the Hatteras Realty office and she that we should have called their emergency after hours number. I explained that there was nothing they could do at 5:30 pm about the smell, all of the stained beds, and the condition of the entire house. We paid over $7,000 for four nights and didn t stay one night. They were not willing to refund any of this back to us. There description and what we were charged for a house in this condition is unacceptable. We shouldn t have to call and tell them to come inspect the cleanliness of the house. Now we know why it was the only house available. We will not be renting another house through this company.

I was literally lied to today by this company. A lady named Janet ext #286 is the one who I had set the reservation up with originally. Lovely phone call today from somebody else other than janet saying the house I had reserved 2 months ago has been sold. Not cool. I had spoken with Janet the day I had made the reservation and then again last week. She reassured me that everything was okay and the reason I haven't got an email from them is because they got a new system. Blah blah. Okay so I take her word TWICE. Now somebody from this company calls me 3 days before Christmas to tell me my family vacation is cancelled and no longer available. Why even put the house on your website??? No compassion and clearly told me it isn't THEIR FAULT. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME, STAY AWAY. NOTHING BUT LIES!!!

Check-in is advertised as strictly between 4 and 6, however it appeared from watching others attempt to check in that almost none of their properties were available at 4. We were told to come back and ours wasn't ready until nearly 6. The house (Elf Hill) had the worst beds and furniture I've ever used. Imagine sleeping on a rocky cavern floor for a week and you understand what the beds were like. The couches were even worse. From the log book in the house that guests are encouraged to write in it was obvious we weren't the only ones with problems with the furniture. The water in the house had a strong sulpher smell, not their fault as it is city water. Otherwise everything was ok. Would not rent here again due to the furniture and glad I didn't do two weeks.

Actually read this. I stayed in breakers this year.there was I walked in the first day and I immediately noticed an awful smell (IT WAS POOP in the closet but we didn t realize it) We bought febreez thought it was the carpet and went tthrough slot of hustle trying to figure out the stench. We later moved into the house next to it and the people staying in breakers say that the is pee and diarrhea in the bedroom and we relished that was way the smell was. I thought they were supposed to clean it, I could have Ebola. I slept there all week right by a bunch of poop. It sucked
