Hartwig - providing top class care to their clients, treating them with compation, respect, dignity and as individuals. As a well as care for their employees by providing to NVQ level 2,3. Hours is to suit their staff, goods salary, paid holidays and managers Olga, Magnus who listens to the concerns of staff and clients. I work 6 years with company and hoping to work more longer.

I'm a live-in volunteer for a vulnerable client of Hartwig. I'm here to keep them company, help them navigate and attend doctor's appointments, sort mail, cook and so on. Initially I thought I'd be able to work as a team with Hartwig - give them information on what is happening to their client and vice versa, but what I discovered is that Hartwig has been shockingly resistant at collaborating with anything I may need to help their client.

I won't go into details of what has happened because it's just too much but my feeling is that as with most things, most of the time, it's the attitude and expectations of the people at the top that trickles down to most others, so the only way to effect change would be to have a completely different administration in place.

Although as a volunteer I was placed here through Social Services and keep in close contact with them, and they in turn employ Hartwig, any of my requests for information or accountability have fallen on deaf ears. Just when I think I can't be any more shocked at their response or lack thereof, something else happens. Several times over the last year their unwillingness to communicate with me or desire to keep information from me has brought me very close to abandoning my volunteering position because they make it so difficult. They know this person and their family have full trust in me, and I have permission from the person themselves to have access to medical information - and ffs, I live in their house, open their post, know what medications they take, and I'm in frequent contact with their doctor, yet they resort to a standard "GDPR regulations" so as not to tell me when carers are coming and when, to do what. I have finally given in my notice and will cease to be a live-in volunteer. While this decision was taken due to a combination of circumstances, Hartwig's intransigence has been a big part of it, and certainly part of the reason why I'm stopping now. This most likely means that a live-in professional carer will now have to move in with the person I've been living with, and put more weight on already overburdened and underfunded social services. This all refers to what goes on in the offices, but unfortunately, with the carers that come to people's homes, the story isn't much different. With very few exceptions of people who actually interact and make their presence a positive experience when they visit, most of the time it seems like there wouldn't be much difference if we had drones flying in to drop tablets on their client's hands.

I'm only giving them a single star because there's no poo truck emoji available.

They don t give hours out fairly, they pick and choose who to give it too. I spoke to different carers. One said she had a contact of over 37 hours, the other said she gets up 8 to 9 hours and then I spoke another colleague that she was in the same boat as me getting less than 3 hours a Day for 5 to 6 days a week.. With covid going on & us risking our lives that s really bad we all have bills to pay no body in that office would be happy to do only two or three hours a day especially with a 7 to 8 hour availability. Another thing is if you go away Because of death of a family member, or you call in sick your hours will be taken away that you where doing before and given to someone else.

My elderly father has been cared for by Hartwig for about six years now and we have always found his carers to be trust-worthy, kind and reliable. In recent years he has had a very regular team who are happy to communicate directly with me when necessary or otherwise through their manager, Olga. Olga has also been very helpful with her advice and offering to liaise with his GP surgery over practical issues such as prescriptions and appointments. I would be very happy to recommend Hartwig from my experience of their service.

Fantastic company!

Fantastic company!
I have been working with Hartwig Care Ltd over the 4 years now and I feel very supported in my role. There is a strong sense of team.
The professional development modules and training I receive means I feel both confident and competent in what I do.
During the difficult times in the situation with virus, there was strong engagement with a team both in terms of providing PPE and ensuring that we are well supported.
I and the rest of the team are supported by manager, Olga Pekarskaia and other staff. The managers are professional throughout, supporting in my development and daily work.
There is very strong emphasise on health and safety too.
I would strongly recommend to join and work for this company, especially at the time when the work that we do matters.

I recently started at Hartwig Care as part of the Operations Team. I thoroughly enjoyed my induction training and commend the level of freedom I have been given in my role so far. I would recommend working here to others.

Hartwig 'care' is the worse company to leave a vu...

Hartwig 'care' is the worse company to leave a vulnerable loved one with. They arrive hours late, lack compassion, lack communication skills and merely view clients as their monthly pay check. To make matters worse, my grandmother and I have noticed the dissapperance of various items, left right and centre. Her jewellery box is missing, pots, pans and cutlery have dissappeared yet the company couldn't care less. Before Hartwig began 'caring' for my granmother she had so much cutlery she could barely fit them in her kitchen drawer. Now there is not enough for 5 people to sit down and have a meal. Upon leaving my grandmother's house, carers have left the door open on more than one occasion. She has been so frightened that she had to search her entire house to see if anyone has snuck in. The manager couldn't care less. We planned a meeting to discuss these issues. However, when I called back later on, they hadn't made note of this meeting in their system. As a result of the poor care and the resulting stress, my grandmother has noticed a regression in her health. What really troubles my heart is that the vulnerable people who are being mistreated by this company sometimes cannot express this maltreatment. If I could do the impossible and leave less than one star, I truly would.
