The lady at the front desk doesn t answer she just lets the phone ring once and sends you to voicemail! Is this what y all pay her for? Please make her answer the phone properly! Or replace her!

I went there to find out about the lottery for housing that was held in March 2020 and that due to the pandemic nothing more was known and the Security came out and explained to me, he sent me to come and find out, he gave me a number to call and the person that came to the phone to explain everything to me about it !!! Very kind! Thank you very much and I hope the granting process is quick !!!
Thanks a lot !!!

I want to report a housing for the aged which has no emergency maintenance phone numbers. I just spent the weekend with no ac. Then found out that everyone was off today, Monday. I don't consider that a safe or fair situation for me or any one of the people who live here at 900 Parkway, La Porte, Tx.

I came from Minnesota and i never went thru any of this ! No returned emails im paying rent as if im stil working in Minnesota which is crazy as ever...i just moved here and have not found employment but paying rent ! I think they really should update thier system on how things are handled when someone is porting in ! It shouldnt be so hard to do ...i mean its common sense ! If they are porting in from another state there is no way possible that they are STILL working 5 states away ! Its very irritating that i have been waiting 2 weeks to hear back from a worker about this situation!! Looks like im gonna have to drive 45 minutes just to see why

I never had a problem here it just one case worker that hardly ever contact you back in a decent time but other than that my overall experience I like it. Way better than Houston Housing Authority.

It seems like they never answer the phone. You guys aren t open to the public but don t want to answer the phone. How do we know to get any type of information. The girl at the front desk never wants to answer the phone all she does is sent you to voicemail! We why is she there collecting a free check! She needs to be fired with someone that will actually answer the phone! It s not hard to answer a phone for people that are calling in for help!? They have caller id so they know you are calling so they send you straight to voicemail! Wonder can we file a complaint with the city on the entire department

My experience with HCHA was not a positive one. Numerous emails and calls were made to the case worker and no answer. Clients should not be told that case workers have the authority to make changes if they have to get authorization from a special supervisor. The hours of operation listed on the web site state that the office is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. This is not true. The hours of operation is truly Monday through Thursday. The workers are not in the office on Fridays. It is my opinion that the office should be open five days per week as stated online because there is a massive amount of work that needs to be done and it can not be done in four days per week. Working at home is not as productive as coming to the office to work and see clients.

You have to leave a message for the case worker who is supposed to get back with you within 24-48 hours which doesn't always happen. So when changes don't get submitted or reported it's your fault but you can never speak with a case worker. This just isn't logical to me and a better system needs to be put in place to help tenants and case workers communicate better.

I signed up for hosing in 2008, I always kept my address, phone number, and any important info up to date. I received a letter in the mail (an interest letter I believe) that gave me seven days to respond after the date the letter came in the mail. Long story short I lived in another city, so by the time I received the letter plus the couple of days I went without checking the mail. I missed the deadline. I faxed over the paper anyway. My status on the waitlist went to inactive. I called to explain the situation when someone FINALLY picked up the phone and the guy asked if I had the paper showing that my fax went through. Which I did not I faxed it from a school I was attending at the time and got the confirmation page but didn t think I needed to keep it since it went through...the one time I didn t keep a paper...they got the damn fax and I know it. Years of being on a waitlist gone down the drain. 7 days response time though?...Come on thats completely unfair. Has me seriously wanting to know the protocol. You can t give someone 7 days response time. People have went 7 days without checking the mail. DISGRACE

Staff is slow and lazy. They never answer the phones during working hours. They supposidly take messages and relate it to case workers, yet the case workers take their time to call you back, if they call back at all. The most important thing to know is that YOU have to do your case workers job by reminding them of renewal appointments or be left to lose your benefits through no fault of your own. If your lucky enough to find out that they did not mail out or email you an important form, you have to call and find out what all that is about, as well as, letting them know you never even received it. Of course they will not believe you but if you caught it in enough time you may not lose your benefits. Do not try to contact supervisor, email instead, as they never return your calls, instead they throw you to your case worker again. Do not show up too early for your appointment, the front desk do not relate that info professionally and your left being ignored and passed over everyone else who showed up after you. In my case I thought it was normal to have to wait this long but the case workers all saw me there and only asked me if I needed something AFTER everyone else was seen and gone. They then proceeded to make excuses as to why my name wasn't given to the case worker. I would like to know where exactly the diversity at this department is. Through the years it's clear that they do more for a certain race and I honestly believe their incompetence is done on purpose to help get rid of your benefits.
