We take kids from our school up for 4 days and stay in the bunkhouse. And they have a great kitchen area that provide seating for all the kids. It is a great area and the kids had a good time.

Such a magical wonderfull place! The historic buildings are like stepping back in time, you can almost feel how it was like way back when, its a Wildlife Refuge so when hiking the Whimsical trails you never know what kind of little or big critter you will encounter. You can Snowshoe, cross country ski or ride your fat bike in the winter, stay in a rustic yurt or a historical cabin that Harriman has for rent, but no matter when you go to Harriman State Park it will always be a memorable time.

Fantastic Park for picnics, watching wildlife and taking a horse back ride. I suggest the 1 hour ride for beginners, 4 hour for a long and fun trip up the mountain to overlook the valley. Prices are very reasonable.

Harriman State Park is a beautiful place! Originally owned by the Harriman family, they gave the land to the state so the world could enjoy the beauty which lies there in. Full of pine trees and many small lakes, with the Snake River winding through out, hosting Beautiful trumpeter swans, geese and all sorts of Wildlife. Those who manage Harriman State Park have done a wonderful job in creating activities, whether it be a Moonlight Serenade, Halloween activity, elk bugling, cross country skiing or riding a horse through the property as the owners originally did. I encourage everyone to look up Harriman State Park and see all the activities they offer. You can take your family here for great reunions and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this land. Stay In the original farm house or the bunk house. There are the Milk Barn, the Carriage Barn and many more buildings to explore. Harriman State Park is open winter and summer. The farm is a must-see if you enjoy cross country skiing or just exploring nature.

A hidden gem - this is very different from Teton & Yellowstone: a super-quiet, peaceful place that, instead of high mountain landscapes offers wide-open grasslands, pristine lakes & fens and fragrant forests (plus a really quaint ranch!) you can explore without running into other people all the time. The park staff are the nicest people ever, we felt more like a part of the family than like mere visitors. My kids and I loved it.

There is a visitor station here that sells the most authentic souvenirs in the state, so you got your kid a stereotypical teddy bear that everyone else has, how about an Idaho black bear or a mtn blue bird plushie. Most original gifts award.

Went cross-country skiing there. About 2 feet of snow, well packed and groomed. For a small $5.00 fee you can ski through some of the most beautiful scenery around. Lots of water birds, beautiful wide trails, or if you prefer take a second on single-track trails through the trees. The warming yurt, provided by the Idaho Falls Nordic Ski Patrol is a wonderful lunch stop. I highly recommend this adventure.

Very nice and big state park. Lots of trails for you to explore the area. I went in winter to do some cross country skiing. Mostly easy to moderate trails, not to bad for beginners. Plenty of warming hunts, and you can see swans and ducks down by the river.

This park is mainly used for going on horse rides. However you can go to a parking spot with great views of the river with mountains in distance. You quickly see why the head of union pacific railroad owned a good part of the land here. There is a nice 1.5 mile walk that goes along a nice lake with trumpet swans and pelicans. However, it was a little muddy for most of that hike along the lake.

I haven't stayed in the yurts for a couple of years ask my timing for the reservations was not cohesive but they and the staff were wonderful. I highly recommend a stay at the yurts as they are comfortable, convenient, and effervescently cool.

Beautiful countryside with a huge network of paths to walk, bike, ride horses, and even cross-country ski in the winter. Has a few historical cottages you can peruse, and even rent for family or work events. I've been in both winter and summer, and each is a unique experience. You can easily get lost if you don't pay attention to where you are going, and the maps they provide are difficult to read (and find where you are).

Balls.

Loved our stay at Harriman state park. We stayed in the back country yurt and it was beautiful. The walk there is a mile and a half and is very scenic. There is so much wild life and is so peaceful. We will definitely be coming back to do it again.

A beautiful park with flat and easy trails and lots of birds. The guided tour of the historical buildings is very interesting, the staff is amazing. A place to enjoy nature without so many crowds.

Great resource! Lots to see & read about the area while viewing original buildings. Only $5 per car entry fee so extremely reasonable. A ranger station available with knowledgeable staff to answer questions about this while region. Highly recommend this as a stop while visiting this part of Idaho.

Such a beautiful place to kick around and have a picnic. We enjoyed going through the old buildings and learning a little bit of history of Herriman State Park. We LOVED the three mile loop hike around Silver Lake and along the river!

Beautiful place and usually good trails, surprisingly, I got there before they groomed the trails for the day. But usually they are well groomed and taken care of. It was fun braking trail for a change around the back side of silver lake.
