Stayed at the yurt. Parked right in front of it. Awesome time.
What a wonderful park - donated to the people! Hiked thru here and read lots about the ranch and the famous fly fishing opportunities! Reasonable entry fee of $5 per vehicle.
Got some quick mtb ridding in while others in group hockey around; it s more XC than anything else but really pretty country.
Such a beautiful park to visit in all seasons of the year. We helped with the Haunts of Harriman lay October. It was decorated so cute and they had plenty of candy for all the kids that came! It's the safest environment for trick or treaters! Definitely will be back next Halloween!!
Peaceful, beautiful and well maintained winter playground. Well marked trails and friendly staff.
Winter wonderland. Great staff and amenities. #fatbike heaven. If you are looking for a winter adventure where it feels like you have the world to yourself, Harriman State Park is the place. Plenty of trails that wind around small lakes or follow the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. The yurts are tip top and the staff at the Ranger station are warm and welcoming.
We go every Halloween for the Haunts of Harriman!!!!!
Only campers there last night. Snowed and was really pretty. Lots of swans, geese. And ducks on the river...
Winter sking or snowshoeing. Beautiful!!! Also rustic places to stay. Hiking and I believe horse riding in summer.
This is a nice little state park that gets passed by regularly by people rushing to Yellowstone (and frequently visited by fisherfolk). There are no campgrounds, so you need to plan on staying at a nearby National Forest campground or a hotel probably in W Yellowstone or Idaho Falls, depending on your travel direction. It is a great park to visit on bicycles.
Kyle the state park ranger was so nice. She was helpful and answered all my questions. We stayed in the yurt make sure you bring your own bedding but it was such a fun place to stay and camp. They even provide firewood. It was great!
Beautiful state park with many trails, all accessible for biking. Trails are compacted cinder/gravel and well maintained, suitable for CX, cruiser or mountain bikes. If riding to the park from the Mesa Falls Byway, or the Yellowstone/Warm River rail trail, it's easy (and free) to enter from the "East Gate' located north of the Mesa Falls Byway on Highway Route 20. There are multiple restroom locations and places to get water.
We stayed in the bunkhouse with my family like we do every year, it was a great time skiing the trails and enjoying the outdoors.
Great place, great activities, great programs. Excellent trails.
A great place to go, summer or winter, to get away from all the ATV'S and Snowmobiles
Went on Henry's Fork with a guide as we fished through Harriman State Park. Beautiful river.
Great place! 26 miles of trails. Great for hiking, biking, c.x. sking, snowshoeing, bird watching and more.
Great cross country trails when they groom them. Also good for snow shoe adventures and fat tire bikes.
Very pretty very mellow. Wonderful wildlife. The lake we road around was calling and beautiful
A very nice park with good paths for walking and cycling.
Rustic, off the beaten path with no pretentious hoopla. Just pure Idaho back country of the most beautiful scenes of nature the way God meant it to be. Turn off your phones, put away your digital self and listen to nature. We saw moose, eagles and listened to the elk trumpet. Even saw bear tracks.
Fun place, things to do all year round. Some trails for hiking and in the winter there is some scenic xc skiing to do. Decent pavilions for picnics and groups. Plus the proximity to Island Park and West Yellowstone means that if you are in the area you can see many other sites as well.
Big disappointment. We were told it is a Wildlife Refuge, where we could see animals as well as vistas. We are from Oregon, and wanted to see this beautiful park while we were in the Island Park area. Very disappointing to find out that we could only drive into the park down past the lake, to the restrooms. All the rest of the park is trails, horseback riding, and etc. We will not be back.
Beautiful place, nicely redone, and we'll maintained
A great old ranch to stay at, comfortable, close to Yellowstone, and some nice river to fish.
Ranger Morgan and all the staff are amazing. The activities are unbelievable. The scenery is beautiful. Serene. Supreme.
It's a great place for a nice snowmobile trail ride
Great for hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing. watch out for horseflies in the summer.:)
Fun adventure for the family. Kids enjoyed it. Great fresh air and beautiful landscape. Yellowstone is within a short drive too.
We love riding the bike trails in the summer and skiing the groomed cross-country trails in the winter! The park is absolutely beautiful.
Great ski/snowshoe trails. Only negative is no dogs allowed (parking lot only). Cost in winter is $5 for parking plus $5 per person. Beautiful views along river.
The Railroad Ranch is the best ever. Been fishing it since 2002
Great trails, fantastic scenery! Facilities are well kept and the rangers are well informed.
Very beautiful place to visit. Tons of beautiful scenery. We stopped at this spot and enjoyed a nice picnic. I highly recommend this place. Easily accessible, clean bathrooms, and plenty of amazing things to do and see.
No dogs allowed on trails was the only bad thing about the park.
Moonlight Serenaded was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended a moonlight cross country skii/snowshoe run. Well organized and incredible friendly staff. Thank you for putting on the event and perfect for Valentine's weekend. BTW the live music was a great addition.
This is the best place on earth my grandpa has done a good job with the park!!
Wasn't what it was 3yrs ago because of drought still good though no wild life
Very rustic with tons of history. Wildlife refuge.
Super awesome location with really cool trials. Loved my day trip to this place.
Had a really nice 5 mile hike out here yesterday. My route is in pink on the yellow map picture, I parked at the ranchview lot. Really had to pay attention to the turns and map numbers while I was out so be careful not to get lost. I saw 2 gray owls, a bunch of trumpeter swans at Golden lake, and was lucky to hear the elk bugling. It was muddy, lots of horse poop to dodge on the trail. I'd recommend if you're in the area and want to see something new.
It's nice, for Idaho. Otherwise states have better nature but Idaho isn't bad.
Tour guide very informative and just a pleasure to listen to learned a lot very appreciative will tell all of my friends and yes we will be back
Beautiful scenery. We rode horses in to hear the elk bugle. Amazing!
Fun, easy trails for hiking cycling or horseback riding
Stayed in a Yurt and it was a great experience. Be prepared for a 1.5 mile hike to get to your secluded spot. No water or inside plumbing but a clean and well maintained vault. Bring a water purifier to use at the water you cross over about .25 miles from the yurt. Elk, coyotes, and a lot of Sandhills. They provide wood for heat and gas cook top. Light from a Coleman lantern. Sleeps 4 comfortably up to 6.
Very nice park. No competition for sewing Yellowstone Park but much quieter and yet beautiful
This Park is a hidden gem. There are so many fun things to do here. Amazing fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and animal viewing. Moose, elk, and deer are common as will as many birds living around the lake and river. So much history here with the ranch. The winter activities like cross country skiing and snowshoeing are so much fun. There's even yurts your can rent. It's well worth your time to bring your family here.
Harriman Park is beautiful any time of year. We love to bike here in the summer and snow shoe in the winter. Waterfowl are plentiful and you never tire of the beauty of this State Park. Truly heaven on earth!
Such a beautiful place. So many birds and beautiful wild flowers. It is well taken care of and the park rangers were very helpful and kind. They were really great with our kids too.
This place is amazing. I would call it fresh history that you can tour and easily imagine the glory of this place in the early 1900 s
We love to come up here to snowshoe. This is such a beautiful Park. Goes right along the river where lots of ducks and swans gather. This is a place you must visit.
Beautiful jogging/mtb path around silver lake, one of my favorite places.
Good nature walk or bike ride or cross-country ski. Parking fee $5 per vehicle or you can buy the $10 pass with your car registration. Winter use fee: $5 per day per person or $35 for season pass. 24miles of trails (gotta bring your own gear & recommend you have bear spray just in case)
Love this park. The Staff is very nice. They have great events for families throughout the year and it is such a great place to go snowshoeing, etc. The yurts are fun for overnights. I haven't stayed in the cabins. Too many options of things to do for me to list. Go experience it!
Lovely place for an easy hike. Took our little ones on the loop through the old ranch, gorgeous scenery and wildlife.
Wonderful park, both for biking and XC skiing. Nice conference facility.
Great park next to Henry s Fork River. Beautiful scenery and lots of great fishing.
Beautiful place to hike, bike or relax. Let's get the Middle Bridge rebuilt!
