The Hard Rock is not a bad hotel but my experience...

The Hard Rock is not a bad hotel but my experience was less than ideal. It has a great location; just a stone throws from Marble Arch. The lobby is large and open which is unusual for a Hotel in this area. Live music in the evening (which can get quite loud). Generally nice and helpful employees.

But, there a few things that they need to improve on. First, the WiFi on the 2nd floor performs poorly with very low throughput and frequent bouts of increased latency. This often made it difficult to FaceTime with my family back home.

Secondly, the fitness center is a sham. It s a double suite with 2 rowing machines, 2 tread mills, 2 benches and a set of free weights. There are two TVs and a water cooler to round it off. It felt sad and depressing which might explain why I never saw more than one person I. There besides myself.

Third, the breakfast is consistently boring. Chafing dishes for each element of an English breakfast adorn a long counter. The same dishes everyday over and over again. There are smaller setups for Mediterranean dishes (falafel, hummus, etc), juices, cereals, and pastries. That s not much different than other hotels that provide breakfast but what is missing is an omelet bar. The scrabbled eggs are the consistency of a lose porridge, by the way. It s hard to see why anyone ate them at all and it was clear that people the fried eggs (which are no culinary master piece).

Lastly, like many hotels the shower is in a tub that has a single swinging glass door on the end of the tub closest to the shower head. I ve never liked this design since it seems impossible to use this type of setup without getting water spray on the rest of the bathroom. To make matters worst, the shower door was missing a vinyl door sweep at the bottom. This led to large amounts of water running down the door, onto the tub, and down onto the floor.

I d stay at the Hard Rock again because none of the hotels in this price range are all that great, but I think I prefer the Marriott. Still, it s better than the abysmal DoubleTree, but that s not saying much.

Actually great, because perfect location, great breakfast and nice rooms (cleanliness, well). Polite service!

But not recommended with children. Child service = bed frame without mattress, without pillow, without blanket !!! After six (!) Hours of repeated discussions at the reception, the manager made the decision: we got a blanket for our child, but no mattress. But we exchanged the broken bed frame, thank you!

Not upto the expectation, and not worth for the money.. adding to that was their ongoing renovation.. the only advantage of this hotel is it's proximity to Oxford Street and underground station..

- Small rooms

- Small rooms
- Bad housekeeping
- They charged 35 pounds for a local call from the room.
- Bad room service
- No late check out
Not worth of paying 250 pounds per night!!!

Hotel itself is quite good. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Breakfast is a downside to this. Sometimes it's difficult to get a table and the food is good but there's always something missing. Much space for improvement there.

One of the more unique hotels I've stayed in for sure. The lobby, with it's unusual human sculptures and strong lighting immediately leave an impression. The rooms are fairly spacious but the layout is somewhat weird, with a mirror being the first thing you see, which means you see yourself when you walk into the room. A rather odd experience if you ask me.

The location is hard to beat. Mere steps from the tube makes for an easy commute. The hotel is also really near to oxford street, which is the main shopping street. That means you'll be close by to shops and food. Perfect.

loved loved loved this place, managed to spend some time here as Rock Royalty! What a place the bar and lobby is!
The rock royalty bar is a great place to while away an early evening or mid-morning.

Enjoyed it for both!
Will be back

Pros:

Pros:
Location location location! Very good location near shopping, underground station, restaurants, ... etc. Room size is ok but not wow. Room was clean and the offer good toiletries. Anita (a receptionist I met at the executive lounge) is the most nice and helpful person you could ever meet here! Thank you so much ANITA.
Cons:
VERY LOUD air-condition that does not work properly anyway!
Front desk staff did not help me when I arrived at 11. they said check inat 4 and we don't have CLEAN rooms now! I asked them if they could ask the cleaning staff to clean one of the empty rooms, but she said they can't !! She was under training so I asked her to talk to her colleagues maybe there is a solution, she talked to the lady next to her in Spanish in front of me! which is extremely rude! They could've just spoke in English but apparently they were hiding something! They said you stay at the lounge and check with us but we can't help you at the moment. That;s when I went down and met Anita who offered me a room only 20 minutes later! I only stayed here for two nights, the second night my neighbors at the room next to me were very noisy and slamming doors every 5 minutes !! I tried to let it go but it continued till 1 pm and I said enough is enough and called reception, they sent security personnel around 5 minutes later upstairs, he cleared the room (they were having a big gathering and more than 10 people were in the room!!!!) I was sleepless and left the room and the hotel at 4 am. I explained to the front desk about the problem they only said we are sorry you couldn't sleep! I didn't like my experience at all although I am (and my family too) are long term customers at the Cumberland

I had bad experience with new owner i love it when it was cumberland. In summary i came here to renew my honeymoon and I stayed more than 5 hours till I receive my room key. Very delay in the check in. Moreover, i have booked for king size bed unfortunately the provided me with twin room and the bathroom is annoying. I have informed the receptionist and they moved me to other room and again with challenge in the maintenance as the Air conditioner was not working. Then i moved to third room and wasn t as I expected. I will never ever chose hard rock again in any place. I have spent my honeymoon in moving between thier room to find one room working well.

The man at the reception was very nice. If you're not Middle Eastern or Asian the customers stare at you as if you shouldn't be able to afford a stay there. Quite annoying from that point of view

Excellent location across from Hyde Park and between Oxford Street and Arab Street and adjacent to many services such as McDonald's, grocery stores, an automatic cash register, excellent handling, and a taxi in front of the hotel door. Honestly, the best hotel in London is the only drawback of the price.

Very good Hotel with perfect location. Room was big and cozy and hotel staff was highly professional. I had a high fever on our last day and flexible hotel manager let us stay in our room couple extra hours. We paid of course... Sorry to hear that legendary Cumberland is closing... But we'll be back in Hard Rock Hotel.

Stayed at Hard Rock Hotel London from 22nd Nov to 24 th Nov.
Rooms are comfortable, clean and amenities are complete.
Security were very good.
Had breakfast at the Cafe....good choice and they have a corner for Muslims and vegetarians.
The Cafe staffs are superbly friendly
However because of the popularity the Lobby are always crowded and noisy.
Location are the best....near to Marble Arch and Oxford St.
Would like to stay here again in the future

Not bad stay at the hotel but very disappointed that after early check in, when back at the hotel exhausted at 10pm, I had to wait for 30 minutes standing up in a queue at reception, when I only needed to get my room key. I asked help to the concierge for a way to get the key quicker, but he didn't mind much about my situation, he resent me to the queue.

Great location for work event but the hotel is certainly dated and nothing to write home about. It was September and around 60-65deg outside but the rooms were boiling. The "aircon' was a total waste of time and did no cooling at all. The bathroom was decent looking, however if you had a shower the water went under the glass partition and flooded the floor.

Check in was a smooth process with a lovely lady called Noelle. Breakfast was also good and there was a great variety of choice along with space to sit. The lift buttons on floor 4 of the 4 panels only one worked.

I had heard so much about Hard Rock cafe hotels and was excited to stay at this newest location in London. When you walk in the Lobby is big and bright and memorabilia of music icons are adorned behind glass displays. The staff were friendly and the wait to check in was minimal. Our check in time wasn't until 2pm, but they got the room ready early which was nice after a 6hr flight.
Room size was decent for a family of 4. We had a nice suite on the 2nd floor and the room was clean presented well. However, one cant deny a very stale/old smell when walking the halls. Im sure placing some plug- in air fresherners would correct this.

Within a couple of days we tried to call the front desk and realized our phone wasnt working. Upon further investigation, 4 there were loose wires at the end of the phone line as the phone was never connected. The staff quickly reconciled it and we were back up and running. Given that this hotel recently opened (March i believe) i assume some things get missed.

***WIFI as this hotel was very slow when we were there***

Breakfast was great and the staff seemed happy to help and always with a smile. Big thank you to Tish who was super amazing and always remembered my daughter loved pancakes for breakfast. Thank you for making her breakfast time enjoyable. Vicky was such a pleasure and always greeted us with the warmest smile in the morning. This beakfast staff runs like a well oiled machine.

We were also allowed to leave our luggage with concierge for a few days (free of charge) while we Visited Rome and Paris. Of course we had a return reservation to the Hotel, but this benefit really helped us from having to travel with so many peices of luggage.

Night life at the HRH was always buzzing with live entertainment...so never a dull moment.

Location ia truly amazing...right off of Oxford street, its in walking distance of all the shops and eateries..the subway is a 30 second walk from the hotel which connects you very conveniently to any sightseeing place you want to go. I really enjoyed the tubes in London.

We made a reservation via a bookings site and due to government guidance saying not to travel we requested a refund which the hotel declined! They offered us to change the date but advised there would be additional costs and that we would have to stipulate an alternative date of travel. How they expected us to do so when we have no idea when this pandemic will end is beyond me

The hotel is well located, a stone's throw from Oxford Street, next to Marble Arch and Hyde park. Renovated, very efficient reception staff. Rooms well sized. In summary, all good, unless they give you a room on the 8th floor, where the noise both during the day and at night is unbearable due to the machines on the roof, preventing you from resting at night

One my worst experience ever. Stayed there several nights, the first night they moved us approximately 3 times in one night. Our first room had a natural gas order that would not go away. The other 2 rooms had issues with the heater units therefor the rooms were extra cold. Our last day we moved to another room, which also had issues with the heater unit. The manager was rude and claim we could not get any type of reimbursement or credit for the horrible experience. Would definitely not recommend this place.

There was a last minute change to our tour schedule we had been double booked @ the Tower hotel. Location was excellent. Staff at reception seemed a little clueless upon. Check-in which took 15 minutes. Rooms where clean but very basic (no better than a Premier Lodge or equalivent). Breakfast was very good with a good selection of British and foreign choices. Overall a fair experience but with a little research you could do better.

A new restaurant, stylish interiors, sound system that does not interfere with conversations. The staff takes care of the guests professionally from the very door. On the walls of the windows, exhibits that previously belonged to Rock stars: Bob Dylan, Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne ... There is something to watch :)
Core: very well prepared and served super quickly at an express pace, if you are not used to the US portions, do not order dessert right away (very large portions) You cannot fault the service is great. A round bar where you won't wait long for service, comfortable bar lounges, alcoholic cocktails and cocktails served and prepared very carefully. I recommend visiting the premises

The location is great, literally a stones throw from Hyde Park and right at the beginning of Oxford Street.
Bar and foyer very well presented. Check in staff very friendly and efficient, as so was the concierge.
Good selection of drinks at the bar.
Room was comfortable and had everything you could need.
Unfortunately I feel I cannot rate any higher than three stars as the hotel was let down by its food.
Breakfast was laughable, it was busy and the staff tried their best, but it simply wasn't good enough.
The food didn't match the high standard of the rest of the hotel.
Aside from the breakfast issue, the hotel does not appear to cater well for people with food intolerances. Let's just say I got fed up with waiting for someone to confirm what was safe to eat and what wasn't and went elsewhere for something to eat.
Other than that, great hotel, great atmosphere. Will stay again in the future, and hopefully I can update my review with a more positive tone with regards to the food.
