Just left my 6 day stay at The Harborview Hotel and my experience was nothing less than amazing! The service is impecable! We were there for our intimate wedding. On our wedding day we were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries from the hotel with a card wishing us the best. It was very nice and thoughtful touch to our very special day! Every day we were greeted with a smile (yes everyone is wearing masks and strictly following covid protocols) but I know there was a smile under those masks by the tone of their voice. I called to ask for a taxi one of the days which would take too long but was pleasantly offered a ride by the golf cart at no cost. Of course we tipped our driver and he gave me a card to call when ready to be taken back. The staff at the pool and restaurant was just as great and attentive. We felt like royalty during our entire stay and couldn t be happier especially given we were celebrating such a special occasion! We didn t know what to expect from a hotel during these unprecedented times and the hotel exceeded our expectations by far. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay with impecable service when visiting Edgartown.

This was my second time staying at the Harbor View Hotel...the location is perfect, and they even have mercedes vehicles you can take out for a few hours is you choose to explore the Vineyard! The rooms are always incredible! They are large and flushed with natural light, and most have views of the lighthouse - a New England Classic! The restaurants always have a delicious menu and a great wine list which is key for me! This is a place I plan on revisiting time and time again. Oh! and the best part? The staff! Everyone is incredibly kind and accomodating!

Stayed for a long weekend. Nice room, clean with nice accommodations. Asked to change rooms for a better view but they said the hotel was booked so view of the closed pool it is. Oh well, great location easy to walk into town.

Pet friendly hotel with a helpful and charming staff. Even though we were there for a particularly inclement weekend on the off-season, the staff was helpful in making our stay as nice as possible. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is amazing.
This is an excellent location on the island as it is out of the busier areas but is located next to a great little downtown area. I was very pleased with our stay.

We visited this hotel for the first time in May 2016. What a pleasant surprise. We drove to Greenport on a whim. We saw that this hotel was available for a Thursday evening. We went in and were greeted by Diane one of the managers. She was delightful. We had mentioned to her that online the hotel was 199.00 for the night. She honored that without us having to go online and book it. She gave us a lovely room with a balcony that overlooked the harbor. She also offered us to take in our bicycles so that we would not have to worry about them overnight. That was very thoughtful and gracious. There was a continental breakfast in the morning which was lovely. It is the only real Hotel in Greenport. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. Diane will now run their new place called Cove Place on the water on the Northfork. We look forward to going there as well. Thanks for your hospitality.

Here for our friends post wedding brunch. Just a lovely place on bucolic island. They breakfast, and brunch beverages were fantastic. I liked the super spicy bloody mary, and the waffles that don't get any better. I did not stay in the hotel though.

Tired, uninspiring with a bathroom better suited for a double wide. The room over the generator sounded like the hum of a 747...more like a motel 6, than a $600/night. You can do better. We packed up and moved on.

Had dinner at the bar because there was a wedding in the main dining room. Bar tender recommended I try fried chicken and waffles which ended up being awesome. Beautiful location overlooking the harbor.

One of the most expensive hotels on the island, but can't beat the location steps from the center of Edgartown. Rooms are very nice and many have views of Edgartown Harbor. At night, can grab a drink from the bar, sit on the huge porch overlooking the lighthouse and relax. Love this place.

We are currently staying at the Harbour View Hotel...

We are currently staying at the Harbour View Hotel on Martha's Vineyard in the main building. We made this reservation approximately 4 months ago. Our reservation was for a king size bed. We arrived and were placed in a double queen bed room. We did not complain. Our room was very hot. The thermostat said 77 degrees. We lowered the temp to 70. We waited an hour and saw the temp had not gone down and we called the front desk. They told us not to worry it would get cooler. Four hours later the temp said 78. We called the front desk again and tbey sent someone up. The gentleman tells us the thermostat on the wall does work. There was an ac window unit hiding behind curtains. He apologized and said they should have told us this when we called the first time. The room did nit cool off till the middle of the night. The first night at around 11 pm we heard noises outside our door but disregarded them. A few minutes later we hear our door opening loudly...only we had the security chain on and the door could not open completely. We immediately called the front desk. They informed us we had been placed in the wrong room! Apparently they must have given some one else a key to our room thinking it was empty??? Dont really know what happened but it was a very scary situation having someone waking you up by opening your door. The second night we went to get ice and the ice machine was broken. The third day we arrived in our room at 345pm and housekeeping had not been in our room yet...even though we saw them 2 doors down at 10am. We called to inquire and the housekeeper was sent up to our room. She asked what she could help with. We explained the room was not made and she apologized explaining they had her going every which way and it was only her working all the rooms. Really?? Crazy because this is a huge place. It also is by no means inexpensive. Now we go turn on the tv and it does not turn on! The lounge chairs in our balcony are falling apart..litterally.
Overall our experience has been horrendous. The building is beautiful but that does not compensate for all the issues.

Got engaged last weekend and the hotel could not have been more accommodating. They went above and beyond for us going as far as leaving a hand written note and chocolate covered strawberries. They really helped make the experience that much better.

Not to mention the Sunday brunch is out of this world!

I stayed here for a weekend with a friend. The service was just okay. My room was never cleaned during my stay. I had to call down for towels and shampoo multiple times because the room was never serviced and trash was never taken out. I also called the front desk and requested for the room to be cleaned- this was promised and then I returned and it never happened. Annoying :/

For my first visit to Martha's Vineyard, this place was the best introduction to the island! Located at the tip of Edgartown, right across the path from the Edgartown Lighthouse, this spectacular, homey hotel was a relaxing retreat from the city. Just a stones throw from the main street, you could get there within a few minutes, but then retire to the sanctuary that were rocking chairs on the front porch and sip a pink and green cocktail while watching the clouds roll across the sky. Folks, we were a few steps from heaven here. The rooms were actually better than I had expected - spacious, clean, balconies/patios and decorated inoffensively with a sailing/resort theme. The doors were old and rickety which I found totally charming and often surprised me when they did not resist my hand when opening it (silly detail, but I literally thought about it every time we entered/exited our room). HVH has a communal pool with a pool bar that was just getting ready to open while we were there. Henry's bar is a great place to meet other vacationers or just share a drink with your boo. There is also a cozy seating area in the lobby with a fireplace that offers board games and historic reading material. My most favorite place, however, was the wrap around porch with the multiple blue rocking chairs and comfortable seating overlooking the water. Though the prices can be steep during peak season, it is definitely worth staying here to really enjoy the total relaxation the vineyard has to offer.

This hotel has the vibe of a grand hotel of days past, but the poor maintenance an inconsistent service leave it a disappointment in its current state. Returned today from a week there, and during that time had broken air conditioning (they brought us a fan), a failure to bring in a rollaway bed (arranged prior to arrival) until after my daughter's bedtime, a late check in (despite a "guaranteed" check in time of 4), flooded toilets (closed for 2 days) outside of the conference rooms being used, overcharging at the pool bar/restaurant, lack of towels at the pool, and kids' activities not held as scheduled. Staff ranged from apologetic to insisting we "be patient" as they were "very busy." Could not in good conscience recommend to anyone.

The food was great but service was weird. I'm sure it's a city ordinance or something to do with licensing, but if you sit outside then they can't deliver the food to you. Instead, the wait staff will come tell you that your food is ready and you have to walk inside to be handed your food on a tray and then you can take the food to your table outside yourself. We asked a waiter why and even they weren't sure and admitted it was weird. Chicken sandwich was massive and the blueberry pancakes were good.
