Love Harbor Square and its amenities. All the staff (from Front Desk staff to billing to the instructors) are wonderful. Great environment to work out in; you become friends with people you come to know there when working out! Great location, great facilities, great amenities!
I have been a member at Harbor Square Athletic Club for many years. What first attracted me was the option of making a swim lane reservation for up to an hour, with the lane all to myself. Since then I have branched out to using a variety of their services.
I find the variety and quality of the group exercise classes to meet my needs very well, including barre classes, yoga classes, and sculpt (strength and conditioning) classes). The instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, supportive, and vary their routines so we don't get bored.
Since being a member there, I have taken up Pickleball, a really fun game. The community of players is very strong, supportive, non-competitive, and welcoming to new players. I have made many new friends in this group.
I really missed HSAC during the pandemic, but they created and posted tons of exercise videos to continue to support folks.
I also find that when I make suggestions to their management, they follow up in a timely and effective way.
This center is probably pricier than some of the other athletic centers, but their services and support warrant it, as long as you are diligent in frequenting the center often!
Be extremely cautious of your membership and who you are speaking to. I was under the understanding that I had canceled my membership 2 years ago prior to now. I just found out looking at a credit card that I rarely use, they have been billing me again for the last few months. I spoke with someone about it and they stated it was just on hold, not canceled. I didn t have written proof as the conversation was over the phone. I get that everyone is having a tough time right now with Covid especially gyms, but this is robbery. Be very careful and explicit with Harbor Square.
I have belonged to many fitness facilities over the years and Harbor Square is without equal in every area: ample equipment organized in a way to flow through a normal workout, exceptional and highly qualified trainers always willing to help, cleanliness is paramount, management ensures equipment is quality and the facility is extremely clean and well maintained. and there is a general friendliness throughout. I would highly recommend to anyone.
UPDATED - As a member of a minority group I have experienced on several occasions racial bias, ranging from unfriendly front desk staff to hurtful comments made by Gregg who works in membership. He particularly offended me when I inquired about membership options assuming that "someone like me" wouldn't be interested in using the tennis courts. FYI, I have been playing tennis since age 7 and Andre Agassi, one of the best tennis players in history is also of Iranian descent. Gregg has been demonstratively unfriendly since I joined, while regularly greeting others... By the way I come in about 5 times per week.
I have updated this post to share that the next time I was there I was asked directly to take this down, but there no apology issued for the behavior. So I am leaving this here. By posting my experience online I hope to help make Harbor Square Athletic Club a better place so everyone can enjoy this club!

Great facilities, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and most importantly no bros slamming weights. Full basketball court is a winner. Large facility. Good showers.
Harbor Square Athletic Club, Tennis Center is an incredible place to be a member. I've played tennis there for over 15 years and have enjoyed the membership, social interactions and the managements efforts to improve the facility over time.
Great small club! Staff friendly-greeting at front desk! Pilates instructors welcoming & helpful! My husband has physical limitations but he has positive feedback at club which encourages him to continue working out!
