Long time member here, now former. Figured my visit last year was a fluke, where we were ignored and placed in their member tasting area which was not enjoyable at all.
Visited again this week on a Monday and was still treated poorly. The service is terrible, multiple members agree.
Yes the wines are incredible, just don't expect a personalized experience, even if you're a 12 year long member.

The grounds here are so relaxing. I visited this winery with a group of girls. We purchased 2 bottles for a decent price and watched the sun set on their large comfy chairs. There were infinity water features that created a tranquil atmosphere and the weather was perfect for a winter day in February. If you want to have some fun there are fun outdoor activities like lawn bowling and corn hole. The inside of this place is also breath taking. There is a large mural upon entering and the floor to ceiling windows in the tasting room bring in all the natural light and allow you to see gorgeous St. Helena. I will definitely be back!

Super explanation and great combination between modern and traditional, combined with artistic installations. Thanks to Ray for the time and detailed explanation on the great "cab" experience !!!

Beautiful, open and artistic winery site. All the Cabernets were full and bold. Great history behind the family who started this relatively new winery and so glad they have kept some of the historic buildings on site. Lots of art to admire and great snarky quotes surround some of the outdoor pieces. Central location makes it great for a home base in the valley. Tesla chargers available.

This is a fantastic winery! They specialize in Cabernet and they are all good. Their state wine is my favorite (Bengfeld). The place is beautiful and the service is great. Visit if you can.

Wine is okay. Customer service is not. If you have a tour scheduled, the winery does offer 15 minutes of wiggle room, otherwise you almost certainly lost your $$ paid. Tour admission can be used for a tasting, of 4 wines, but the service at the bar will less than desired if you had a tour in mind.

Wine tasting here was quite the experience. It was a warm and sunny day. I stopped by for a tasting with a couple of friends and really enjoyed it. They are members here so it wasn't anything new for them. While I'm don't drink wine very often, I made sure that I got all my tastings in. I started with a white wine, but eventually switched to red since they had just the one white.

We sat out in the back patio area and we we're the only people out there this afternoon. It was quite and peaceful. The view from the back patio is the grape vineyard. I thought it was quite beautiful. I had the opportunity to walk around a bit to see their artwork inside their building. Totally forgot the name of the woman serving us, but she was super friendly and took great care of us.

I'll be honest. I don't know a whole lot about wine. Actually, I don't know a whole lot about alcohol. LOL...I know! SAD! I'm just an amateur dude trying to fit in by sipping on wine. :-)

Our tasting at Hall Wines easily made the top 3 for our trip this year. We were a party of 10 and even though this place was very busy, Chris gave is the time and attention that made us feel like the only group there. We got a detailed look at the wine making process, tasted some incredible wine and got an extremely detailed history of the property and owners.

You don't always get to experience all 4 senses, but this gets pretty close. The view from the tasting room is stunning! Modern art fills the air from every angle with unctuous wine than never disappoints. The educators know the history behind the historic Bergfeld Winery, the story behind the HALL's involvement with the various artists and most of all, the wine. Highly recommend you plan your visit to Napa Valley around this incredible winery!

Currently at a fantastic experience while tasting at hall. Our neighbours had to visit hall if we were seeking meaty reds and hall did not disappoint. We were paired with Eric who treated the experience like we were a guest in his own home. The whole experience was flawless and second to none.

I've come to Hall multiple times over the past few years and always had a good experience, enough so that I became a member. I very recently visited with a group and made a reservation ahead of time. When we arrived, we were told to go into the non-members area as the members lounge was full, which I was surprised by as the person I booked the reservation over the phone did not mention this. We went upstairs and did the tasting anyways, because what else could we do...we were already there. We walked past the indoor members area and surprise...it was empty meaning that they could have seated us in there but chose not to.

It was an odd experience because we were passed from our original host to a new person after our first glass. Our host for the rest of the time spoke to us as if we were new to Hall, but I shrugged it off assuming they can not be this incompetent. At the end of the tasting our host brought over the bill and I mentioned that I'm a member and was not expecting one, that was when he said that no one told him at all...This type of miscommunication and incompetence amongst the staff is both surprising and disappointing.

I didn't feel welcomed at all nor did I feel like the staff really listened to me; it's especially disappointing since we are members. I'm going to cancel my membership and patronize other wineries where they treat their members better.

Hall was our first stop in Napa Valley. We had a tour and tasting with Kathryn. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly welcoming. We felt like we were with someone we had known forever. She took time to get to know us and to allow us to get to know Hall and their wine. Not to mention - the wine was just fantastic. Hall was definitely our favorite spot. Can't wait to go back!

If you're looking for a traditional Napa vineyard ...

If you're looking for a traditional Napa vineyard experience, this is not the place to go. While you may find grapevines outside, once you walk through their front doors you feel like you timewarp into a Vegas club trying to disguise itself as a winery.

We made reservations and got a table upstairs, which was quiet loud - we could barely hear our server describe the wines we we're being served. Speaking of which, all the wines on the menu were Cabernets. I love Cabernets, but that's a bit much.

As for the service, our server was a bit distracted by a group of short skirted women a few tables down from us. And whenever the did show up he had the wrong wine! So if you want attentive, personalized service, go elsewhere.

In summary, no variety in the tasting menu, not great service, loud ambiance. Do not recommended.

Our favorite winery in Napa!!! We went to 9 wineries and this was our #1. It s a must stop in Napa. The wines are absolutely top notch and the tour and property are amazing. Another plus is the beautiful art scattered around the vineyard. Eric was our tour guide and he was incredible. If he s you re guide you re in the absolute best hands!!! If you re considering Hall as a stop on your trip, YOU MUST GO!!!!

Nice wine, poor tasting room staff. I belong to many wine clubs and have visited many wineries over the years but this is the least client facing staff that I have experienced. I likely would have joined the wine club and the very least made a purchase but no one would help me. Staff has very low Hospitality IQ quotient. This is good wine and if could get a better staff would be top in valley.

Simply put, one of the best wineries in wine country! The grounds, the art, the people, and most importantly, the wine are outstanding and will make you want to never go back to the same old wine ever again. They have wines for every wine drinker and not just that but everything they make is stellar. There are very few wineries I can say that I have enjoyed every single wine I tried and this is one of them. If you're serious about wine, do yourself a favor and book their Ultimate Cabernet or Platinum Experience. It's the best way to experience the full breadth of wines and in an intimate setting.

We came in spontaneously on the 4th of July weekend without a reservation. Even though staff couldn't accommodate us, they made us feel welcome like nowhere else, poured a glass of wine and invited to explore art and surroundings. Winery scenery is beautiful with a lot of relaxing places to sit and enjoy wine, art and nature. Will be coming back without a question.

My husband and I are members and very big fans of their wine - never disappoints! However, this weekend his business lost a star for us because we called to set a cave tour at their Rutherford location. The rep confirmed the 2 pm tour at Rutherford specifically and we re-arranged our weekend plans and drove out for over an hour to arrive on time at the location. We were not greeted in person and told we were book for a tour of their St Helena location. We did not arrive on time for THAT tour, obviously as it was scheduled for 2, and just picked up our membership wines. I think the customer service was lacking in this case as we dedicated an entire day essentially to this venture and obviously somebody made a mistake, as I repeatedly stated which tour we wanted to reserve over the phone. As a member I would expect higher accountability from a business of this caliber.

Hall was one of our stops on the Napa Valley Wine train. Overall we had a good experience with the wine and tour. They mainly serve bold cabs but they were all delicious. The only issue I had with the tour guide was that a few people asked for a little more of one of the wines and she was not exactly nice about saying no. If you're in the business of selling wine and someone asks for a little more...give it to them. Totally turned us away from buying any.

I ve been coming here since 2011 when it was just a humble shed as a tasting room and one of the best cabs in the world. Since then, it has grown into a Napa juggernaut with world class facilities and the best of the best in everything. There is certainly an heir of pretentiousness when you walk in, eg the hostess said we can probably fit you in at the bar for a tasting when in reality it was almost empty. Wine guide Tom was superb and treated us like rockstars. Back in the day it was definitely more personal but I appreciate what has become and hope they continue making the best cabs in the world!

This place has no indoor seating arrangements for non-wine tour visitors. The folks at the front desk seemed friendly at first but, they were extremely unwilling to let us use a lawn umbrella after their closing hours on a hot summer afternoon. That seemed rude. However, a brownie point- They have a great piece of art stitched using silk and gems in their reception area!

What an experience! This winery has it all. Stand out pieces of art as you enter the main hall. Up to the tasting room and you are treated just as well you would expect in such an exceptional establishment. The grounds are perfect for wandering around with one of the many delectable cabs that are on offer to taste. An experience I will not forget. Thank you for the experience!

So it was a VERY hot day when we visited upwards of 110 degrees which doesn t bode well for cabs.

So why 5 stars?

The service. Luca was friendly, accommodating, resourceful, and knowledgeable. My wife and I came away impressed both by the wines and the service. We will be coming back when it s a little cooler so we can enjoy all the splendor of their amazing Cabernets and hopefully Luca will be there!

We paid $40 each for wine tasting and it was worth the price. The wines are great and the atmosphere is beautiful and elegant. Amazing view on the grape fields. Also the stuff is very friendly.

I was very excited to come here with family that were visiting from Southern California. Upon arrival I received the worst customer service I could imagine. We had a large group with multiple Members for the winery. Half of the group were in the lawns while the those of us who drank wine sat in the members only. Upon my arrival and before even entering I was told that I couldn't go to the members section because there wouldn't be any room. It was an EXTREMELY warm and sunny day and I was carrying a 2 MONTH old. When I walked back I noticed at least 8 large tables open and my family was only using TWO. The temperature difference compared to the lawn was very noticeable, and felt about 10 degrees cooler. I could understand the attitude and rude looks I received if we were rowdy, and loitering without purchasing anything. But we ordered at least 10-12 bottles of wine. When the grounds were closing, they did not politely let us and other guests know. We were harassed and given attitude when we requested to at least take a family picture. The most aggravating part was the fact there were WHITE guests sitting in Both the lawn and members area that they did not request to leave once "closed". Watching them laugh, mingle, and enjoy full glasses of wine while we were getting glares, and rude attitudes made me feel that they were being RACIST. Our family was well behaved, cleaned up after ourselves, and spent A LOT of money. We did not deserve such poor customer service.

My husband and I had such a wonderful time at hall lines. We actually stayed at their hotel which, if you are a guest you get a free tasting at the winery. We really enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon tasting we received that day! Our sommelier was very informed and helpful throughout our tasting. He provided lots of bottled water throughout to ensure that we were hydrated and was very kind. The grounds around the building is really beautiful as well. It was towards the end of the day in the sun was setting and it seems like I really nice place to go for a walk. We highly recommend taking a visit to Hall winery!

Truly AMAZING! Incredible wines ... some of the very best in Napa Valley. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly staff. Incredible art and architecture. It feels like a resort when you walk on property ... it entices you to stay for hours.

Had a wonderful experience. Partly due to the fantastic wines and the other part due to the excellent service and hospitality from Ray W(our server). Thanks so much, we will be back very soon and would highly recommend a visit.

I feel as if Hall has grown at a good pace and has lost focus on the little guy customer service. I recently planned a trip with a couple of my colleagues, November 11th, to the tasting room as I have been a member for over 6 years and have spent several thousand dollars on their wines this year alone. I secured lodging and dinner reservations, hoping to take a bottle of Jack s Masterpiece along. Well, I arrived to find that the winery was closed for an employee event. The representative at the winery told me that the closure was listed on the website. That s great.

I receive several emails a month from Hall, advertising their products and special events but never an alert concerning a departure from their normal operating schedule. That doesn t make money but their effort to advertise products and events does. Just my opinion.

I spoke with Diem, from the wine club, concerning my extreme disappointment. The resolution; she talked with marketing about displaying abnormal schedules more promeninently. That helps a great deal with my wasted accommodations and long drive along with my friends. Lesson learned; work around their schedule and find out what that schedule is before you make plans. I bet they let their corporate buyers know any change in schedule.

I also bet my complaint didn t make it to Kathryn. Frustrating.

This recently was my first time at Hall although have been drinking their Napa Cab for a while. The building is quite new and holds a nice art collection. My wife and I were the only ones there on a Thursday morning in January (slow season) and we were promptly greeted. The wine tasting was nice although on the more expensive side at $40/person. We ended up joining the wine club if that tells you anything about how much we like their wine! Their specialty is cabernet sauvignon which is our favorite kind of wine. The Ellie's is especially good.

Canceled my membership today. Hall Winery ran a 20% off special today that ends at midnight. Spoke with Tierney Deal, Wine Club Manager, who advised that that the 20% discount is a reduction off list price for everyone and only applies to list price. The 20% does not apply to the member price, so members who have been loyal customers for years and receive regular shipments from Hall s pay the same net price as the rest of the world. Where is Hall s loyalty. Where is the respect for those of us who have been those loyal members for years? I hate it when businesses for which I have been a loyal customer, treat me like a number. Will never purchase another bottle of Hall wine. Too many other really good wines available to be treated with disrespect.

After visiting a nearby winery and having a horrible experience, we decided to try Hall, and boy were we pleasantly surprised. 180 degrees different from the first place. Hall was welcoming, engaging, personable, and yes the wine was excellent. Carol took care of us and treated us like family. We got a history of the winery and learned about how the Hall's got into the wine business. It's clear from the attitude and people that work here love their job, love their customers and treat you fantastically. We ended up joining their wine club and look forward to coming back and enjoying some of their events and beautiful grounds.

Hall offered some great wines with a view that over looks their beautiful vineyards. With very modern decor Hall was one of my favorite wine tastings in Napa. Our tasting server was very knowledgable and went out of his way to make our visit was one of a kind. I highly recommend Hall if you're wine tasting in Napa!

Had a fantastic tasting with Celeste. Wine is really really good. Yes it is expensive, but really tasty wine. Grounds were fantastic. Tasting and tour were great. Would highly recommend. Joining the club.
