If your idea of a crab Louie is a plate of chopped lettuce with a tiny tablespoon of crab on top for $20++,
then this place is for you. Wait times horrible, they run vacuum cleaners next to your table while you're eating, hosts don't seat you in the order you sign up, bartenders don't serve you unless you tip heavily, run by untrained minimum wage kids, not their fault but someone should care.... They get away with all this because of their location. Better Barbara's or the Ketch.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here this August for about 60 people. Lisa did a fabulous job coordinating with my in-laws and me and accommodated all of our requests! We got to use the beer garden space which was the perfect intimate space for our guests to mingle and enjoy dinner and drinks. Everyone had a wonderful time and the event ran very smoothly thanks to the hardworking staff at HMB Brewing Company. I would definitely recommend hosting an event here!

This place was poppin' and lively on a fine sunny and moderately warm California coast day. As we approached this marvelous establishment, there was an immediate sense of popularity, familiarity and longing to be. The front parking lot was converted into a multitude of safely distanced tables...and they were all full...a good sign indeed! The wait staff was friendly and answered our questions and placed us on the waitlist which was about 15 minutes. Shortly after, we were seated at a table with a fantastic Pacific Ocean view chock full of sea birds and crashing waves and boats. The waitress was very friendly and patient and took our order promptly. The social distancing between the tables, staff and patrons was well done and no one seemed to doubt how well the system works. Some dining establishments can claim to "follow CDC guidelines" etc, but these guys took things extra serious, safe and with integrity. Ok, on to the beer....FANTASTIC! The loving two of us each ordered two different types and they were all absolutely fantastic! The beers all had their unique and fresh take on how well craft brew can be and should be. Next was the food...shrimp and chips and the dungeness crab sammich....WOW! FRESH FRESH FRESH TASTY TASTY MAGICAL is what was going on in our heads. Clearly, this place is so popular that the stock of items and ingredients are constantly being ordered and not left to decease inside some sad cold storage unit, another ++. Overall, this defines what a microbrewery/restaurant should be and why such places continue to thrice even during these unprecedented times.

Yesterday was the first time in this restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the good service, with the fine meal and fine drinks and with the decent cost. We will definitely visit there in a short time.

Lively atmosphere, dog friendly, vegetarian, meat, and seafood fare with full bar, large patio, and ocean views. Food was flavorful and moderately priced. Impossible burger, truffle fries, fish and chips, clam chowder, and special corned beef and cabbage for St Patrick's Day. All items were hot, large portions, and tasty. Brews were very enjoyable as was house Cab. Dog biscuits and canine menu. Dined on a sunny Saturday afternoon and had a 60 minute wait, and another 45 minutes to get food. Patio has very limited shade. Bring a hat and your patience.

This place has gotten worse every time back. The food was basically flavorless or poorly matched. The prawns and chips were the only thing that was tasty. The artichokes and ahi tuna was absolutely disappointing. There's plenty of better places within walking distance of this place. It's only good for beer and prawns.

We visited Half Moon Bay Brewing Company during our post- Christmas/ pre-New Year getaway on the 28th of December. We weren't expecting that many people in the area. Not really digging the bathrooms right next to the entrance. The long line to the host caused the line to reach the bathrooms which created a bit of a traffic jam with people going in and out of the bathrooms. There was about a 35 minute wait to sit outside on the patio. We opted for inside, but the wait time wasn't any better. We headed for the bar area where we immediately found a table, sat down and ordered lunch. The beer selection is great. They have a number of local beers. It was happy hour and we ordered the fried artichoke hearts which were $4 off during happy hour. The artichoke hearts were served on a bed of cabbage and with ranch dressing. If fried foods are your thing I'd recommend the artichoke hearts. The wife ordered a Tortilla Chicken Salad which I wasn't too impressed with. The chicken was pretty dry and the salad consisted of mostly iceberg lettuce. There was some avocado, but not much. I had the Pan Roasted Lingcod. It was served on a bed of Swiss chard and topped with greens and accompanied by fingerling potatoes. I would definitely recommend this entree. The meal was moist and tasty and was not fishy at all.

Pet friendly restaurant that provides good service and delicious food. We brought our German shepherd dog to the restaurant after spending the morning on the beach. At the entrance, there was water tank for thirsty dogs, paper bowl provided, excellent. After drinking 5 bowls of waters, our dog sat comfortably with us in the patio. The food was wonderful; I ordered a fisherman s stew and it was incredible yummy. The fish and chips and chicken sandwich was delicious, too. Highly recommend this restaurant, we will come back again for the fisherman s stew.

Better beer than food. Decent chowder. My wife said hers was mostly potatoes. Good Kolsch. We split a fish and chips. Small pieces of fish that were mostly batter. Sat at the bar on Friday afternoon. One bartender who did not check on us. Drank the rest of my wife's pint. Wasn't worth $55.

I have been here with a friend. The place has a lot of sittings inside and some outside. Actually in a hot sunny day it is convenient to stay inside.

The staff was friendly and asked multiple times if all was fine with our food and stay.

We paid about $33 dollar each for a dish (I took fish and chips) and a beer. The beer was good. The fish and chips was abundant, I didn't expect so! They serve it in 3 fried pieces of fish, a base of chips and 2 cups of sauces. Tasty and good.

I suggest to place :)

Happy Fathers Day to me! Came to HMBBC for Lunch and the service and views were awesome, temp was 65 deg. vs 99 where I live. My servers name was Jacob, friendly, and on time. My peach tea never went dry and I know you all know what I mean. Ask for Jacob when you get there. I had the fried shrimp tacos and I have to tell you, best shrimp tacos I ever had. WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!

My cousin took me here when I visited San Fran in October. We went on a Thursday and it was pretty slow. She told me that on weekends this placed gets packed so it was nice that we were able to pick any seats outside facing the water. The views here were beautiful but it was a bit chilly that day so I decided to start with their clam chowder soup. It's probably one of the best I've ever had. Piping hot, super thick, chunky and loaded with clams. I got the bowl size for $9 and it was enough to share. We also shared an order of Fish and Chips. They were decent but kinda lacked taste. However, the batter was crunchy and fries were perfectly crisp. It was $17 so it's little steep but the portion was big enough to fill both of us up. We didn't try any beer but I had a cocktail called Blackberry Bourbon Smash. It was light and refreshing but too sweet for my taste.

We had an OK time here. Nice and chill. Plus the drive on PCH 1 from Daly City to Half Moon Bay was gorgeous.

I give it a 5 out of 5 for one reason and one reason only. Their Fisherman's Stew is one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. Though we have tried other dishes we keep coming back for the stew. When they first suggested it, it sounded horrible but I took a chance. My wife not so brave. She ended up sharing my meal and now we both just get the stew.

Dog friendly front outdoor area with heaters and fire pits. Live music. Great ambiance and courteous staff make for a wonderful dining experience. The view is of the Half Moon Bay Marina so don't expect stunning coastline. But it keeps us returning time and time again.

I know fish stew sounds gross. But give it a try.

Cute restaurant, food was somewhere between good and great. I had the impossible burger, was served with out a condiment but was smothered in sauteed onions, normally I would not ever turn down sauteed onions, these I took off my vegan burger, they were limp and no seasoning. The hummus was great though and actually the server brought out additional carrots and pita bread so I could finish the appetizer, note to self-order the hummus appetizer and a beer next time.

I'm a pilot not too far away and meet friends and family here. Sometimes it's really busy, but the wait is never too long.

I like to fill my growler with almost any of their beers to enjoy back home.

Tonight I learned they have a "Dog Menu". It features Kobe Beef patties so that's what I had for dinner, along with a cup of really good clam chowder.

Really enjoy coming to this place!

Friendly staff, nice outdoor settings, but I'm not a fan of the food that I ordered, maybe it's due to takeout, calamari was over fried and the chowder was kinda salty without much clams flavor.

Great location, great views and great vibes. For some reason I can't remember what the beers tasted like... That is a first. Either way, if you're in town and need some craftie in your life. Look no further

My wife and I came here for a date night and overall the experience was less than satisfactory. We were seated right away in the bar area. The server was not friendly or very informative, even after we mentioned we hadn't been here before.
We were only checked on once and had to ask for our check after sitting there clearly done for over 30 minutes.
Would never come back here again.
P.S. The food was not worth the price

Our favorite weekend lunch place during covid. Nice to get out to the ocean, grab decent seafood, and a good brew. If you're still weary about table service dining, park in the rear parking lot and tailgate next to your car. It gets busy just before noon, so best arrive a bit early to avoid long waits.

I was there on a Friday night. I wanted to check out the Maverick local brews. I tried a sampler of craft beer. They had a live band and everyone seemed to have a great time. Their craft beers are on par with the other local Central Coast brewers. Give them a try if you are in the area. Be sure and get the seasonals while they last, they run out fast.

We heard great things about this brewery/pub....but meh. We arrived and surprisingly got a table almost immediately (on the 4th of July, midday, wait for a proper table was ~20 min). The bar server was rushed but took our order within 10 minutes of sitting down. Beers were good; we'll have to try more of them eventually. The food, however, was rather bad. We ordered the parmesean truffle wings (c'mon...wings at a brewery should be on point), and they were TINY and fried until no liquid was left in the meat. Most of the wings were smaller than my thumb, and I have small hands! So little meat and so DRY! We also got the poke, which was essentially about half a cup of tuna and a mountain of fried crisps. The tuna was good, but for ~$15....I assumed I'd get more than that. Overall, we'll never get wings there again, never get the poke again, and try it one more time before we give up on the food. Jury is still out on the beer.
