They have a wide variety of items and the employees are quite friendly. The downside however is the price, their selection is more expensive than their competitors. It works as a small grocery stop, and is a short walk from the college but I would much prefer riding the bus to somewhere cheaper.

Really nice food, very expensive. I didn't know they were owned by Safeway. I keep seeing Safeway trucks pull in there. The Honeycrisp apples are better at Safeway, or wait, what. There just cheeper at Safeway. Your gonna need to know that because, there addicting. They don't look at you as funny at Safeway ether. Maybe I should be reviewing Safeway. Yes I think I will....

A very lovely store, if just a bit overpriced. For most groceries you should expect an average but slightly higher price for each item. For deli items, they should be expected to cost a bit more than normal. Overall, very reasonable and lovely to be in.

Everything is overpriced. Very nice people, helpful staff, great upper scale environment, but not worth the extra cost. If I wanted to pay extra I would go to Trader Joe's. Good selection of produce and one of the rare places to get wild mushrooms when in season, as well as some hard to find items.

I don't know how to even describe this place regarding their customer service, it was rather unfriendly really. Was made to feel as if my asking for any help in just trying to locate items in store was as if I had just had asked a very reluctant child to do dishes or by the attitude given , the sigh given in response was like an orca and or that I just asked to borrow a million dollars type look, sighs and attitude unfortunately. At one time this particular HAGGENS used to be a more friendlier place to shop. Sorry such a bad review but giving it like I felt.

Haggen is always a nice store. They have a good selection including lots of local products. The store is always clean and the staff is helpful. It's more pricey than other places but it has good quality.

Haggen has a really aggressive ID policy where they check everyone's ID in your group if you buy some beer. We're 30, and if my wife does not have her ID on her when I am buying a bottle of wine, they refuse to sell it to me. I've never been to another store that consistently does this. What do they do if you have your 12 year old kid with you? Do they refuse to sell it to you?? This does nothing to prevent selling alcohol to minors. If you are doing that, you don't bring them into the store with you.

Haggens on Meridian Street is the best grocery store. Everything is there, only on a smaller scale compared to Barkley Village or Sehome Village. The staff is friendly and helpful. They always ask if I found everything, and if not go get it. This grocery store is as close to an old fashioned neighborhood store as you'll get, only with modern conveniences. It's clean too.

The past couple of times that I've went in (early morning) to get a breakfast burrito, the person working in the deli area was not very helpful, would not give me salsa, and I ended up getting a sausage burrito, even though I had asked for bacon.

Haggen had a wonderful community vibe. Albertson's purchased the chain a few year' s ago, so prices are often higher than Fred Meyer. Deli, wine section, produce, and bakery are impressive.

Pros: a wide selection of high quality food and other goods. A great deli, good sandwich meat options. Open 24 hours.
Cons: On the expensive side, not great for college students.
If you can afford it, a good grocery store.

Conveniently located, food quality is good, but prices are way too high similar to Whole Foods. Prepared foods are just bland, lacking flavor. For more realistic prices go to Winco, a worker owned cooperative - they are more responsive to their customer base, not bottom dollar.

Love them always amazing helpful employees

Love them always amazing helpful employees
What I find funny is the Chinese food handlers in all of the store never smile empty after they have worked there for more ten 3 weeks as long as the head cook is about the area
Then the Susi Chief Sharing the Same Space is always so Happy Happy Happy
I kid you not, lol

Haggens is alright, haggens food products are just a little pricey. I will shop here only if really have to. I mean this is my opinion other people might love to shop at haggen foods and I'm okay with that

I only went in for one thing, and while the lines were kind of long one of the workers noticed. They jumped in and opened another line temporarily, and got through the customers quick. Even though they sounded like they were having a bad day they were still polite and took care of my needs quickly.

Prices are higher than other grocery stores (more so since Safeway bought them a couple years ago) but its convenient to my house. Checkers are always friendly. Bakery and Deli are OK. If you like vegan, gluten free, whatever buzzword fad is the diet de jur then they have a great selection of specialty items. Often my favorite chips are not stocked on the shelf so that's annoying. And they don't regularly have the green Odouls NA beer I like. They replaced several bulk dried fruits I liked with the organic no sugar/dye/chemicals added version and they don't taste as good. You can only get them in a small prepackaged "Northwest Fresh" package at twice per pound than what they used to be in bulk. A lot has changed since Safeway took over. It used to be a hometown market, now it's more corporate. It seems that many of the longtime fulltime employees are now gone, replaced with a bunch of part time kids that don't care to remember your name or little personal things. The pharmacy seems overworked. Way less staff there and they work longer hours. This is troubling to me. These pharmacists (or pharmacy techs) are entrusted with dispensing medications that have literal life and death consequences if an error is made. Apparently they expect the pharmacists to work 10-12 hour shifts because they cut staffing to save money. Sadly so many locally owned and originated businesses are being absorbed by large Nationwide chain store corporations. Haggen(s) is just another victim.

Bought a prime rib roast last week on sale and the associate who helped me told me they were on sale til New year's the 1 St . Today the 30th I went to buy another one and was told by the guy behind the counter that they were longer on sale they went off sale after Christmas and I was out of luck. CANNOT TRUST HAGGENS TO STAND BY THEIR WORD. Hate to do business with folks I can't trust to stand by what their employees say.
