Steve was our tour guide. Super cool guy cant wait to read his work and I will 1000% be back to h20 adventures after our trip on the middle fork of the American river.

This was my second time rafting the American River and I can definitely say this time was awesome! Most of the other rafting companies get you on the river and get you down as quick as possible, but not H20 Adventures. This company is definitely the best on the river. The family owned aspect is amazing and the owner brings homemade brownies for everyone at the end of the trip. Definitely unexpected and they were absolutely delicious. We had Jeff Brown as our guide and not only was he super energetic and fun, but he took his time and made the trip well worth our time. We put in a chili bar and took out at the Coloma bridge (typical 1/2 day raft trip) and it took us about 3 hours to cover the around 6 miles of river. We had so much fun along the way and even learned a thing or 2 about the river that I didn't even know. We will definitely be returning and probably doing the lower half with lunch since it was so much fun!

I have gone rafting a number of times over the but since I went with H2O on the South Fork America I have stuck with them. They have a safe and professional presence that has inspired enough confidence for me to try some of the harder section of the North and Middle forks of the American and even the Maytag section on the Yuba! Again very safe and professional and FUN!

Devin was very professional and extremely helpful. We were rafting for the first time and he took enough time to explain everything. We had a lot of fun and would definitely go again

What an AWESOME experience! Our guide Nacala is a true gem. Knowledgeable, considerate, and funny. The whole H2O family made our whole trip down the middle fork the best. You can t go wrong with them.

H20 white water rafting provided an excellent day trip adventure! In the morning we were greeted kindly, staff were more awake then we were and their sense of humor was light but appreciated none the less. Steve rode with us to the drop-in and answered all questions we had and was congenial from the start, a true old soul. We quickly were given our gear and had time for restroom visits and sunscreen at drop in. The process was quick despite many rafting companies being there at the same time, H20 has It dialed in. We were lucky to have Ben as our guide down river. The day quickly started with the good morning rapid and was fast paced from there. We rode in a group of other rafts from the same company and we felt the camaraderie between guides, they worked as a team for all of our benefit. After the first person in the water (from another boat), I knew we were well taken care of for this thrilling adventure. I cannot say enough about Ben, he had the perfect compliment of calm/stoic energy when needed and fun/engaging energy when appropriate. The day passed easily with him as our guide and with the fun banter between guides in our group.
I have been on many excursion trips and this ranks high! We even have another trip planned in spring based on Ben s recommendations! Thank you Ben and H2O!

Our family had so much fun with H2O Adventures! We rafted the upper part of the South Fork on a half day trip. It's just the right amount of time for an introduction to rafting. Keegan was an awesome guide! He clearly loves his job and made sure that we all had fun. My kids are 10 and 14 and had a blast! All the guides were lots of fun, everything was clean and well-organized, and safety was clearly a priority. My biggest fear was falling out and Keegan made sure I didn't!! Thank you H2O Adventures!

We've rafted with 4 different companies over the years and H2O Adventures has provided the best experience so far. Guides Lindsey and Blake made it fun, told some great jokes and provided a safe journey down the river. The reservation process was super easy with Fianna answering all the questions and working out the best plan for our group. The campground and facilities (and buses!) are in great shape, camp is right on the water with lots of parking. The location was easy to find. The equipment was all well cared for and all of the guides were knowledgeable, considerate of the environment and guest safety. The brownies at the end of each day were a nice touch. We can't wait to come back. On a side note, I noticed that our guides were much friendlier with the other companies than they were with us. Our guides shouted out hellos, high fived other rafts, telling them how awesome their guides were (even though it was a competing company) and had a very positive vibe when encountering other company rafts. We were DEFINITELY having more fun than the rest. I feel bad for the people on the raft with an older female guide (wish I saw the company logo) who was cussing up one side and down the other like a grumpy river hag because she thought we should just clear out for her. Hope she got a nap and woke up happier.

This is a great rafting company, and we had a lot of fun. Our guide was Blake, and he was fun and funny and learned everyone s names. He was entertaining for the kids, and has a great singing voice! I will definitely ask for Blake next time I go.

Keenan was our guide, I've done this trip many times over the years, by far the best guide and company on the river, very down to earth, and fun, company is local non corporate and we loved that. Drop in right on river, no busing to drop zone which is awsome, and free brownies on the trip back. I would highly recommend H2o and will be riding with them on all future trips. Keenan is an awsome guide and super cool dude! owner was driver on way back and was way cool too!

I ve been rafting with nearly every commercial rafting Company that has existed in Northern CA over the past 25 years. I rafted my first time with H2O Adventures in July of 2020. They not only do things the right way, they are professional, kind and truly a joy to raft with every moment of the trip. We rafted the Middle Fork of the American River and they made sure it a blast even during the slow and often monotonous portions of this 15.3 mile trip. Well done!

My husband and I, brought my son (his first time) to raft the American river. Tyler and his wife had quick responses and were able to accommodate us 2x on our last minute trips without giving us the runaround. Our first trip was the south fork of the American river which consists of level 2/3. This is the perfect trip for first-timers. The 9 miles (about 3 hours) were very easy going with lots of learning opportunities. Ted (our guide) was very polite, assertive, and playful. It seemed like he was the lead for of all the rafts within the company. He was able to prepare us for each rapid by giving details of the rapid name, what we were going to experience, and what he expected us to do with every scenario. Though he was a small young man, he had answers for our questions and he was able to get or fat asses out of the water each time!!! We had plenty of opportunities to jump in and swim, surf, and rock jump into the river. We loved it but wanted more white water rafting excitement!!! Two weeks later we decided to take on the middle fork which includes the tunnel chute with levels 3 and 4. This is an all day trip including lunch. There was so much excitement that we lost track of time on this trip. We again got Ted as our guide on our second trip. He provided us a very memorable trip. I highly recommend this company to get you down the river safe with lots of fun. I ve read others positive reviews and their detailed experience are spot on!!!

Wonderful rafting experience from a beginner perspective. We did the south fork river today and Blake was our raft guide. Everything came together right from the start of the checkin. Safety instruction very was well said so that the kids and adult pays attention.
Then we started the rafting and Blake did an awesome job. He was very friendly even with our 10yr old kid. We are so happy that we got Blake as our guide. Whenever the current comes he will explain how we approach and he drove it very well.

Overall all of our group had a great experience with H2O.

Amazing trip ever! We went to the Middle American Fork and I have to say the guide made it even more amazing. I brought a group of 22 people to go rafting on the North Fork of the Yuba River for some high intensity fun and H2O did not disappoint! The guide on my raft (Mark) was top notch, the company provided everything we needed and went above and beyond to take care of us. They planned ahead for the weather and made sure we all had the time of our lives. My people haven't stopped talking about it, and one individual is already reaching out to plan a birthday party with H2O Adventures. Highly recommend!!

Such an amazing experience from the van ride through to the last rapid. Our group of 7 loved the full day trip on the Yuba. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and social, H2O gave such a personal touch to the trip with the complimentary lunch and homemade brownies at the end of the trip. Would definitely recommend booking a trip with these folks.

This is a GREAT company to go with if your booking a white water experience. We went this past Saturday on the middle fork for an all day trip. I was amazed by the knowledge, skill and experience our guide Tyler had. At lunch, I was expecting a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Instead, H20 had wraps with 3 different lunch meats, 2 different cheeses and all the sides you would want in a wrap. This came with fruit, chips, juice and even cookies. The follow up leading up to the trip was fantastic. It s probably one of the smaller companies on the water but it shows that they truly care about their customers. I wouldn t go with anyone else as we will book again with H20

Amazing experience I give it a 20/10! It was our first time doing actual real white water rafting. We did level 3/4 rapids and actually did really well. My group was small 3 people they added 2 to our group and thankfully they were outgoing people. Our tour guide Tyler was professional but still very fun. Tyler is the owner and our tour guide and he was amazing. We ll definitely be returning and recommending to everyone!

My first ever trip down the river this year was guided by a young, professional, and charismatic man by the name of Blake! A man of many songs, it was clear to our group that his deepest love was for the water he rode passionately. Although the South Fork was much more vanilla than my previous experiences on the Middle, Blake made it equally as exciting as the higher class rapids that he clearly was man enough to handle. It was one of the smoothest, most enticing rides of my entire existence. For the life of me, i almost can t recall even going over any rapids. Perhaps this is because I was entranced by the exquisiteness that was his chocolate, wavy locks of hair. Or maybe it was the way his eyes crinkled in the corners with each beaming smile he gave us as we all paddled in unison. Whatever it was, we could ve been out there for over 48 hours without a single break and I never would ve known because of the way he handled our trip with such ease and charm.

If you re looking into white water rafting and are hesitant, or nervous in anyway please know that this is the rafting company for you and if you re blessed to get Blake as you re guide- you re in quality hands

I just got back from a team trip with H2O Adventures and they were absolutely amazing. I've been with other companies and have done many single day trips, but the 2-day rafting/camping trip down the Middlefork was everything.

Ben was our guide and he not only kept us safe, but taught us about the nature and the history of the river and rapids, toured us through small hikes leading to beautiful waterfalls, and was extremely personable and fun-loving.

Trevor and Dave guided our gear boat safely down the river, helped prepare our camp and delicious meals, and made the time at camp very light-hearted. You can truly see that they love what they are doing and are happy to make your experience the one you wanted and more.

A single day trip is fun and exciting, but it is rushed. You don't get to appreciate the nature that you're surrounded by like you do on the 2-day. Camp was so beautiful we didn't even set up our tents and slept under the BRIGHT Milky Way. We saw shooting stars, satellites, and searched for constellations. It was truly breathtaking.

If you want adventure, if you're looking for magic, and if you want to get silly, I recommend the 2-Day Middlefork trip with H2O Adventures. A tradition has been started.

Best rafting company in Coloma. It is a small family run company with some really dedicated guides. Extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. The owner Tyler has an incredible passion for the river and you can find him hopping in a raft to guide people down the river. They focus a lot on safety and fun.

This was my first time rafting & I can say it won't be the last. The whole experience was beyond awesome and the staff made sure it wasn't anything short of that. Trevor was a great guide, I would recommend anyone H20 Adventures whether or not if it's your first time, you'll enjoy every minute of it.

Our rafting trip was awesome! We were a group of 6 where only 3 of us had ever been rafting before and the other 3 were really scared. We went on a class IV-IV+ trip and everyone loved it, the people that were scared at the beginning wanted to start planning the second trip before the trip was over. We did the North Fork of the Yuba River, the scenery is beautiful but it doesn't feel as secluded as other rivers. However, the trip is so fun and exciting that you won't even notice! What I liked best, aside from the amazing and knowledgable guide (Jeff!), was that the trip is full of challenging smaller rapids in between the big ones so you ease into the big ones. The food was also really good, we had a delicious pizza with extra veggies as well as fresh fruit! Already planning on going back! They also have fresh baked brownies made with extra love by Tyler's mom at the end of the trip!

We visited H2O Adventures yesterday and had such an amazing time. It was our first time rafting rapids so we were a little nervous and didn t know what to expect. Our guide, Bronson, was knowledgeable and so fun. He gave clear instructions, safety tips and guided the raft safely down the river and through some pretty fun rapids. We had an excellent experience from beginning to end. We can t wait to book another trip!!! If you re considering booking a trip with this group, DO IT. First time river rafting today and it was absolutely the best experience with the coolest guides, Hippie Jeff and the guy in red (Mike). The best part? You get freshly baked brownies from Mama Tracy at the end of the day HIGHLY recommend, they also offer the best prices.

Just finished our middle fork white water rafting trip!! I definitely recommend H2O Adventures 100% for your white rafting adventures! The staff is friendly, FUN, professional!! Lunch was simple, fresh and super delicious. It consisted of spinach tortilla, cold cuts, cheese, variety of fresh veggies, and yes avocado!! Had the most amazing experience rafting with our guide Lyndsey! She was super knowledgeable, fun and also just the coolest person ever. She and fellow guide (Ted?) ensured that our group of 6 were very well hydrated (in more ways than one) and I even got to experience my first jump rock. Given this was the first time rafting for the majority of us, I can say with full confidence that we could not have asked for a better experience. Thanks H2O for one of my happiest memories to date!

This is the BEST company to go rafting with, plus they're LOCAL. They have high quality equipment and the highest quality guides. They are fun and knowledgable, they have true passions for white water! We did the middle fork American recently, Ben was our guide and he is PHENOMENAL. My mom was so terrified at the beginning and he walked her through everything and explained the instructions thoroughly. She left feeling like a pro and brave as heck! Give these guys a call, they'll recommend what area is best for your group and give you a great price! Don't waste your time and money on any other company (I should know since this was my fourth time on this river and they're the best!) I had been rafting with three other companies that did not meet the quality of this company. Next year I'll be doing North Fork American with H2O again!

I recently completed guide school with h2o adventures and was absolutely blown away by not only how knowledgable the instructors were, but how incredibly inviting the whole experience was. Our instructors Jeff and Kelsey put together an amazing week that challenged us both mentally and physically. We learned so much about not only whitewater but about working together as a team and creating an experience that guests would take with them for a lifetime. Tyler and Fianna made us feel right at home and part of their family from day one, and that's really what h2o is, a family! We ate meals together and spent the days learning all about the river, the equipment,and the community. This was a week that changed my life for the better and I will forever be grateful! If you're looking for your best day ever, look no further!

Did the Half Day South Fork with H20. Devon was our guide and was outstanding. Provided excellent overview and safety brief at the start and guided the trip superbly throughout. He blended the fun part of the trip with a narrative of the area while also showing us the basics of how to raft and approach the different rapids. Had a group of strangers working as an effective team in no time. A great trip and highly recommended!

The entire H2O team was on point from start to finish. Pretty amazing how dialed in they have their trips. From booking to arrival to gearing up. Then, jumping on the river. Devin knows this river and was an excellent guide but all good things come to an end. As we finished the section and hit Folsom Lake, a waverunner was waiting to tow us the rest of the way to exit point. As we pulled out our boat/gear, a van promptly arrived to load up all the gear while a bus was waiting on us for return ride back to home base. Either a very well orchestrated symphony or a staff hyper-anxious to wrap up a long day but you wouldn t know it. Nothing but smiles and a nice little treat as we boarded the bus. Bomb homemade brownies and a bottle of water. Nice touch! Will be back!

The rafting trip was an amazing experience! Highly recommended if you're interested in anything outdoorsy. We took the American River South Fork path, which was a great experience for a beginner rafter like me. Be prepared to get extremely wet and potentially even thrown off the boat (which I experienced four times, three of which were voluntary). I had to knock off a star because although the trip was such an amazing experience, there was a lot of trouble to get ahold of them, which is understandable for a small company on the tail end of the off season. Highly recommend!

my girlfriend took me on this trip for my first time on my birthday and there's nothing like the adrenaline rush going down the different rapids. Loved the whole team and loved Teds jokes throughout the river lmao. Will definitely be doing it again.

The middle fork American river is exhilarating and challenging but never felt we were not safe with the extremely professional guides. My hat is off to H2O adventures and I will definitely be booking another trip soon.

I had the pleasure of attending H20 Adventures Guide School 2019 and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Shout out to our instructors Jeff Compton and Kelsey Ewing rafting PhD. They taught us how to be competent and safe on the water. We learned how to better read the river, paddle correctly, safety protocols and general life lessons. I would recommend this experience to anyone who has a deep curiosity and interest in boating. I can't say thank you enough for the once in lifetime Adventure with H20!!!!!!!!!!!!

This trip was AMAZING! It was my first time river rafting & it was a wonderful experience. We traveled in two groups (4 & 6) and our guides Hippie Jeff & Mike were awesome! They explained everything we needed to know and were very patient with us. We also had some delicious brownies, a huge thanks to Tracy!! They took us rafting in November! When no other rafting outfitter was open or would be bothered with answering their phones (or even mentioning they maybe closed for the season), H2O answered, delivered straightforward expectations, gave us all the gear we needed, and gave us the same experience I'd imagine they provide every day of the season.

When my husband told me that he planned a rafting trip, I was not thrilled. I can swim but I was not interested in drowning. Our guide, Devin, noticed my apprehension right away. There were five of us in one boat, including my husband, two daughters, a friend and myself. Devin learned our names and set us at ease with his demeanor as he explained the basic skills we needed to know. The first part of the trip was relatively (as I learned later) calm. As Devin navigated, we learned that we could trust him. After lunch, we set out for the longer part of our trip. Even though I still had some anxiety, I was more willing to be adventurous. Devin did all of the expected tourist guide talking points but he mixed a wealth of information and fun in throughout our trip. He taught us about water patterns, how to identify safe areas to swim, and why one may need to approach a rapid from an angle that seems counterintuitive. He gave clear instructions and confidently took us into waves. Because we followed his direction, we surfed! We went bullriding! He taught us how to spin the boat like a teacup down a section of rapids. We got to the end of our trip and i realized that I forgot to be afraid of drowning! Our entire experience was positively effected by Devin's expertise and personality. If you're interested in going rafting, go with this small, private company...and ask for Devin.

Our rafting trip was absolutely amazing. We went with a group of eleven and were split between two boats but our guides kept us together throughout the trip. The guides are very knowledgeable about the river and really want to provide you with the best experience. The brownies at the end of the trip are incredible and homemade by the owner! By far my favorite rafting experience, we will be back!

If you come in small group you may end up sharing the boat with other people. Apparently this does not follow the social distancing rules. Your website should have specified that you may not get your own boat and there is a guide on the same boat with you. If I knew the boat is shared I wouldn't have come.

The overall trip is fun but at this special pandemic I hope you should have provided more protection methods e.g. each party has their own boat.

Had a great time with Dave on the river and would go an a trip again with h2o. Scratch that, I will go again with h2o!

My daughter joined friends for a full-day trip over the July 4th, 2020, weekend. She had an amazing time. We camped after the trip and the rented tent was comfy and on a platform. The rented sleeping bag pads were the best on the market. The campground facility was nicely run and the bathrooms and showers were fully functional and clean. Highly recommend.

This was my first time on a rafting trip - and my group and I had an awesome time! Our guide, Devin, was super knowledgeable, made us feel comfortable on the water, and had a great attitude and fun personality while doing so. We will definitely be coming back!

We rafted the middle fork and camped at H2O campsite. The campground was clean and absolutely beautiful right on the river. My husband, daughter and myself had the best day ever rafting. I have gone white water rafting with H2O adventures for the last three years on my birthday June 25th Last year I even had a cast! They took wonderful care of me. This year we had nine people in our group I can t say enough when I say what an excellent company they are and how well they took care of us. H2O adventures is THE BEST rafting company out there . They changed my life .h2o has been taking me down the river for 3 years now . And I wouldn t go with any other company . Hands down !! Their guides are absolutely amazing ! From talking about the history of the area , to pointing out wildlife , to surfing and jumping off rocks . They even took me rafting through a tunnel !!! They always give me the best day ever . TYLER is the beastest raft guide on planet earth !!

So this last Sunday me, my girlfriend, her daughter and bestfriend went whitewater rafting down the south fork. Our guide was a super energetic as well as highly professional gent named Blake Camlin.

We were a little nervous but let me say this guy made all that go away with his very attentive direction, and expertise in his job it created an atmosphere that completely rocked our worlds!

So cheers to Blake we'll be back and were bringin EVERYONE ! WOOHOOO!!!

For the person who guided us for rafting try avoid speaking of chicks *woman* and wine in-front of children and woman specially when no one responds to you about that topic.

That conversation is totally fine when everyone in the boat are men. Never speak of chicks and wine in-front of children.

We had a fantastic afternoon yesterday with Lyndsey as our guide. Three generations in a raft and the time seemed to fly by. Lyndsey made it fun and adventurous with games for the kids, ages 8 and 9. And even grandma jumped when we stopped at a place where everyone could climb up and jump in the water. It was a blast and very well run and organized. Awesome company.

Excellent 8 hrs spent on the American River. Knowledgeable, energetic, and fun guides that love what they do. Great lunch. Fantastic day!

Great company, and Trevor was a great guide. I've been on two overnight trips with H2O, two years apart, and both were fantastic!
