A reference in Nice, an emblematic hotel to visit and enjoy while enjoying a drink.
A dream come true, a night in a living museum with thousands of original works by Dali among others. Professionalism of the valet, our welcome guide, the barman, the restaurant (excellent table). A little aging junior suite with sea view
Best hotel in Nice, with one of the best restaurants. Fantastic ambience, each room is unique, and the service is usually impeccable.
My family has been staying here for decades and we know most of the staff very well. They are all exceedingly friendly to visitors and more than happy to answer questions, point you towards interesting sites in the city or nearby towns worth visiting, or tell you the history of Nice and the hotel.
The rooms are stunning and incomparable to any other hotel, not just in Nice but all of Europe. Each room is unique in decor and layout, and the art in the hallways and rooms is more akin to a visit to the Louvre than a stay at a hotel. Although some of the furniture is reproduction, a great deal of it is not and frankly belongs in a museum. The same goes for the art throughout the hotel, which is stunning. I could speak at great length at the different themed areas and the minute attentions made with color, decor, and materials used to furnish and decorate even their most basic rooms, but any of the numerous pictures of their rooms speak much more concisely and accurately.
The restaurants on site are also fantastic. La Rotonde has a good breakfast service as well as a great daytime menu (of which I highly recommend the tartare), and the Chantecler is a great Michelin rated restaurant featuring a fantastic tasting menu, as well as more traditional gourmet fare.
The only drawback, which may be a significant one for some, is that the internet connectivity at the hotel is abysmal. You may as well functionally consider the hotel to be without it in your consideration. The service itself is slow, reception is exceptionally spotty and prone to disconnections (and subsequent interruptions of service through logging in again.) It's just not usable for more than background services which can sometimes successfully bypass the login system and slowly upload or download data in the background.
But, one does not stay at The Negresco for the internet. You visit The Negresco because it is The Negresco, an incomparable monument, a stalwart institution to the highest levels of service and setting in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Who could afford a room ... but hey the visits to the lounges and the aperitif in the very nice coffe bar
Expensive yes but you already know!
One of the last palaces of the Riviera which has remained authentic. A slightly kitsch charm that plunges you into the luxury world of the 60s.
The restaurant "la rotonde" offers a sumptuous breakfast as well as very good menus.
Unfortunately the Rotunda is being repaired and moreover it will no longer have the carousel decor :-(
The 37 Pop which replaces it is in a superb setting but we found it less good in terms of food than our memories of the Rotonde.
One of the oldest European hotels of undisputed prestige, excellently renovated in recent years!
Splendid palace, a well-known and recognized establishment, a symbol of the city of Nice!
Magical place for tea time with friends. Obviously beautiful place with perfect and very pleasant staff.
Superb hotel, very good restaurant, top-of-the-range service, high price, international clientele
So beautiful, so classy. Say you want to get a drink and walk the interiors!
Very nice hotel, its mythical facade, on the other hand it is not for all budgets.
Exceptional place, perfect cocktails, remains very classic as decoration, manor style, but very calm and very classy. Servers at the top!
We adored our stay in this hotel from the 60's, definetly worth the experience. The breakfast with the view was fabulous and the room was very comfortable. Staff was very nice and professional.
At the bar, the welcome is courteous, pleasant and professional as it should be, unlike the Carlton ... The rustic and prestigious setting is no longer to be presented ... We will appreciate the calm of the place at the beginning of the afternoon . The prices are correct and they correspond to this style of establishment. However, it will not be possible to recharge your phone or to work "on mains" while drinking ...
Simply the best. Only matter they have no vegetarian option in breakfast. Hence 4 star. Else 5 everywhere else.
To see mythical place, always so well kept. Perfection is always there.
Mythical place, luxurious hotel and also a little museum wanted by Mme Augier, large hall for galas illuminated by the famous chandelier, immense crystal luminosity, remarkable chef, nicely set tables but, small, very small downside: in this flagship temple of the French hotel class, why set up 1 table with cutlery placed in the English style, ie the teeth of the forks frightfully and aggressively directed upwards !! But that didn't stop our appetites because everything was delicious.
It was wonderful when we rented an apartment more than 10 years ago.
A mythical hotel ... a museum .... an institution .... to discover ....
Such an amazing hotel with more to it than meets the eye. It's like you are in a world class museum that also doubles as a hotel. A must visit for Nice
I didn t stay here but made it a point to check out this landmark historical hotel during my vacation in town. Ended up having brunch in their restaurant on 2/22/18. The hotel itself was classy and that extended to the large open room with high ceilings where brunch was served. The food was excellent and there were a lot of delicious options to choose from, hot and cold. Great selection of beverages as well. Excellent value for what we spent too. Interesting decor in the men s restroom in the hotel.
Very popular photographic holiday motif. A must for every visitor to Nice who also admires the architecture of the 19th century
Lovely venue with a nice view of the water from our room. The food was excellent, but our favorite part was the historical building, architecture, and lovely aesthetics. The service was rather marginal but the rest of this place is wonderful. Thank you, David. We loved our stay.
Apartment Nielsen nearby. Only 200 euros for a night
Very atmospheric, historic hotel with excellent service. The best choice to enjoy Nice.
Special thanks to the manager Iliana who made our stay special by upgrading the room and personalized approach.
The bar at Negresco is an absolute gem, and as classic as you can find anywhere. Another thing that makes it stand out is that dogs are welcome. Extensive drinks menu.
A place worth seeing, a beautiful hotel, the oldest in this beautiful city. Every corner is a work of art, a circus-style cafe is impressive.
Great hotel
I have a good rest
Very refined interior, service at the highest level
A mythical place that lives up to its reputation, staff and high-end quality of service. I highly recommend this establishment.
Hotel with a fantastic history, which welcomed famous characters from around the world and which preserves more than three thousand museum pieces.
With an incredible room, with a Murano chandelier and surrounded by paintings and sculptures, it is a true living museum.
Karl Lagerfeld was here several times with his dogs and cats. He left an impression, not very human when he passed away, and left his entire fortune to dogs and cats in testament, forgetting so many who live in difficulties or in misery.
But ahead.
However, the rooms are not practical for today: closet in the bedroom, bathroom without shower, only a bathtub, without any curtain or glass to protect the floor; comfortable Empire, very beautiful, but hardly adequate today.
The "Great Lady"of Nice...Equal to itself and unique..
One of the best hotels in the world. Like staying in a museum.
Exceptional hotel and museum at the same time, welcome and staff at the height of this prestigious place
In Nice, too, we were just passing through: at the Negresco, there are only the remains of Chantecler, where the kitchen craftsmen, again, take themselves for artists; the last memory there was of a butler vulgarly too fragrant, puffing at having to serve a tasting menu for lunch, pouring himself out on his cheese cart claiming that his hotel would be the most expensive tourist destination in the world, not even a character pleasant as it should have been, and hardly having to travel ... Prefer to rent an apartment on this promenade des Anglais.
The restaurant is amazing, decorated as merry-go- around, reminding me of my dream room when I was a little girl. The food is irresistible as well, what is most, I saw the precious photo of Madame Jeanne Augier and Salvator Dali!
We only went to the restaurant for an ice cream at tea time. Very friendly experience.
Well, well worth a visit. In fact a must if you go to Nice! Make sure, if you are allowed, to walk around the big circular room facing you when you enter. Fabulous works of art and interest, as good as any gallery! Exciting!!!! Enjoy!
The service and the welcome is excellent but the bartender cold and snobbish
At the restaurant "La Rotonde" there are super delicious desserts. The main menu is not very good for that. Most guests eat only the dessert and for that reason.
Excellent place. The food was amazing. The only thing was the time that we lost waiting beverage and food.
A wonderful "Palace". To visit, have a drink, eat or stay there.
