Like many other have noted, the current management is simply abysmal. They routinely overcharge and underscoop (the last time I went, after promising myself multiple times that I wouldn t continue to support this scammy establishment, I got a watered down, room temperature milkshake that had less than 1/4 of the cup filled with ice cream- disgusting, but my fault for going). Perhaps it s their confidence that tourist crowds will continue to give them business so they can give a terrible service... Everyone in the neighborhood knows to avoid this place. I hope the current owners sell the franchise soon and someone else takes over because I love Haagen dazs ice cream and I hate not being able to support a business that is so close to home.

Very disappointed ! A whole case of ICE cream was frozen, also the worker was very non Professional .Firstly, it was a very Chilly Night myself & my out of town grandchildren walked from the corner of Court St to Monteque St for icecream (traditional TREAT from my niece when the Kids come to NYC) The worker have us a very small scoop ,b4 we finished she stated she had to "Go to the Store" I asked her was she throwing us out? She said "YES " with no Hesitation at all. She was still on the clock the Store does NOT CLOSE until 9 or 9:30 it was about 8:30.(may not be exact time but it certainly wasn't closing then) Very ANNOYED. I love the icecream so I will continue to go there but definitely wasn't a happy camper THAT CHILLY NIGHT.

Not only is this great ice cream but it's also the FIRST Haagen-Dazs store EVER!!! This is the perfect place to grab dessert after eating at one of the great restaurants off of Montegue or heading to the Brooklyn Bridge Promanade.

I ordered a icecream cake from this location for my wife birthday, I called them back because they didnt asks me did I want cookie crunch in the middle of my cake and they told me it was to late,I asked a manager can he cancel my order he said yes and he would call me back once the order was completely cancelled,He called me back 5 minutes later and said he couldn't cancel it,I asked him to have the store owner give me a call and after speaking with him I informed him that I wasnt asked if I want cookie crunch in the cake and he said his location never asks because noone once to pay the extra 5 dollars,I will never go to this location again because I had to keep the cake because they refuse to give me my money and to top it off the cake wasnt even the type of cake I ordered,if I could have gave them zero stars I would have,I will never go to this location again,Very bad customer service and they went so hard about not letting me cancel they should have at least got my order right

I placed an order for two sundaes at 7:30 p.m.. my order updated not once not twice but three times and when I finally became impatient by 9 p.m I drove to the store on Montague St. I told the young lady about my order taking nearly 2 hours and when I called the store several times no one answers. The manager was extremely unprofessional as he refused to help me on the spot and accommodate me for my order. I asked him several times may I have my money back or my order on spot since I drove to the location and he refused. I asked him was my order at least going to come not melted and the young lady told me she made it an hour ago. Lol ! My order delivered at 9:30 melted! Please don t order from here your wasting your time and money! Horrible customer service!!

ORDER CAKES AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!
I stopped by last night to order a ribbon birthday cake for my mother's 84th birthday. I paid for the cake in advance and I advise employee 52 that the cake will be picked up on Monday, Oct 19 @ 7:30pm.
My nephew went by to pick up the cake and guess what? No cake. It seems they forgot to make the cake. What makes matters worse is the fact that no one in the store bothered to contact me.
AVOID THIS STORE, THEY'RE NOT WORTHY OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Ok so I ve worked here for a while and I feel that I need to explain somethings about the realities about Haagen Dazs. We are a franchise, we re the worlds first and we are at an expensive location, all of which means we re expensive. If you're not willing to spend a lot of money, then there s a cheaper ice cream place down the street, no one will stop you from going there. We try our very best to give quality customer service to even the most difficult customers. There are people who give us ripped money, will take extra items (which are quite costly) and ask for multiple changes, which not only are wasteful but complains are because of ridiculous reasons. Yet we happily do it which great patience because that s just Haagen Dazs.
Our milkshakes are based on specific ratios, we are just not allowed to make it more thick or less milk because it won t fill the cup and out machine can t make it into the shake without the right measurement. The consistency of the ice cream is what determines the thickness of the shake. If the ice cream is softer and more room temperature, it won t matter how much more we put, it won t be Thick. People are so quick to give us bad reviews and say customer service is bad, we re bad because you refused to cooperate with store rules. No one stops to question the character of the customers, we are often silent and take in the harsh words of customers who can be nasty and vile. There are people who freak out over whipped cream, decide to curse, and spill their shake on the floor to create a scene but somehow we re the bad ones. There are many who are very satisfied with our services and leave great tips, too bad they don t leave a review.
Right now business is trash. Corona killed our business, many workers were cut and now the schedule is shorter than original. We are obligated to close half an hour early because it s expensive to run a store for longer hours when no one actually buys our products. our main business happens around 5-8 after 9 it s quite silent so why would we pay for extra electricity? Some people are so quick to leave a comment about us rushing to close . We re not rushing. Almost every place you go to prepares to leave about half an hour before. A review was left said we re closed at 10:30 when google said 11. Its just half an hour, and we re not going to wait for some people to leave their homes at the last second of 11 just so they could get ice cream at 11 at night. Employees also have lives that we need to tend, some people are so selfish. They act like babies as if not having ice cream at the most ridiculous time of day will somehow ruin their everyday lives. Either come earlier or come a more realistic time, you don t have to be so petty. Haagen Dazs has quality ice cream with fresh ingredient, don t fall for the bad customer service trap because that s the goto complaint of people who whine about the smallest inconveniences. If I say our frozen yogurt machine doesn t work it s because it doesn t, I m not an engineer who can fix it nor do I have a lamp into which I can wish to fix. Our waffle cones are extra and it s on the menu, don t get mad at us about the price, we didn t put it. Go to head office and complain if paying an extra two dollars for a cone is somehow not letting you pay rent this month. We have a menu look over it and make smart decisions then being quick to complain over your own choices. I love Haagen Dazs if anything I hate the customers.

Haagen-Dazs is a legendary brand when it comes to ice cream. However, it is rare to run into a store brand! The store is very small, but clean. They have several different flavors to choose from. The sizes are all great.

Pro:

When getting the quart container. The employees don't jip you. They fill it to the entire brim!

Con:
There quart container is 15.99. If your a fan of the carmel flavor (dulce de leche) ice cream. You can get the same size in most supermarket brands for 6.99 or even less.

I was accosted by the older gentleman that works here. He gave me soft serve ice cream that was frozen and when I refused to take it he threw it at me. Ii'll never go here again, but if your looking for an adventure with your ice cream this may be right be up your alley.

the ice cream is of course good. but on a hot evening i took myself out for a cone, the store empty, and the service was deeply unpleasant. the two workers were bickering, nobody looked at me, smiled, or thanked me. they were edgy and difficult with a nice couple who came in as i left, all for $6.25 for the smallest cone they have. id suggest going across the street, as i shall.

Yum

We stopped by on this place for an ice cream treat and was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of hand made ice cream. We ordered several different flavors, and all were great. We will return here again.

Poor customer service, we had been charged extra money for having our ice cream put into regular cones. Their pricelist stated the same price for ice cream both in a plastic cup or waffle cone. The extra charge was not mentioned!!! The guy who served us was very rude and had earphones on the whole time.

Me and my friend ordered cookies and cream shakes. Some older guy made us vanilla shakes and we kindly told him that's not what we wanted. He got upset and told us that he wasn't making it over and attempted to throw the milkshakes at us. Thankfully the other employee his name was Daniel. He grabbed the older guy and stopped him. Daniel went on to make us some great shakes.Good shop just beware of the older guy.

Bought an ice cream cake to celebrate my son's graduation. We cut the cake and it has freezer burn and a layer of ice crystals on the bottom. I call them to let them know and the employee tells me if we ate a piece of the cake we can't return it. We all ate a bite of the cake so I gather all the pieces pieces and return the cake the next day. My husband tells me they swiped the card for the return but I check my credit card statement a month later and no credit to my account.

Charming, cozy, old-fashioned ice cream shop near downtown Brooklyn. They claim it's the original location for HG chain, which may very well be true. The store is relatively small, and usually crowded, so plan to eat out when the weather is good. Enjoyable destination for a hot day visit either way!

The person working tonight (06/01/2019) literally just locked the door in my boyfriend's face. They do not close for another 40 minutes and someone walked in RIGHT in front of him. I am 6 months pregnant and he rode his bike over 20 minutes away to get me ice cream and they let someone in right before him. Not good business practice and I am hoping the manager of this location sees this review.

Despite the historical location for the ice cream company, in my opinion the ice cream quality is average and not good value for money compared to artisanal ice cream parlors in Brooklyn or in the city.
