It is easily the highlight of our youth group's year. While it is true that Summer Camp is fun, nostalgic, and crazy, the biggest reason that it remains a true retreat for my students is that each year they meet with Jesus in a fresh way. You can not help but know that you are on sacred ground when you step foot onto the property. I look forward to camp as a speaker or adult volunteer every year just as much as our students do.

One of the most fantastic places in a state full of fantastic places. No one leaves without having made new life long friends!

Whenever our students attend an event there, they come back motivated to make a difference in our church and community. I can't believe that there are still some United Methodist churches that do not send their students there. As long as I am a pastor, the students at the church I serve will experience Warren Willis. I drive the bus every year, so load up!

I love this camp. If you are looking for a camp for your children you can not find a better one. My children attended Warren Willis for ten straight years and the I had at least one child working on staff for six of the last seven summers. Great fun, spiritual enrichment and awesome fellowship. I can not recommend this camp strongly enough! Would give it six stars if possible.

I have been going to this camp since 4th grade, and have been 8 times so far. Every time, I have made wonderful friends and reconnected with my religion. The camp is beautifully kept, and offers a bunch of activities for kids. Most campers come with a church, so it's isolating if you don't. The camp also centers a lot on going to church, baptism, and youth community service. It's very localized, but people come from Georgia and the Keys to visit, so it also is very well known in the Methodist community.
It promotes modest clothing, healthy food, good physical activity, and discussion in scripture. It also has a live band that performs for 30 minutes during 'praise time' daily. There's a bible discussion group for all campers called small group, where a group of 15 or so people talk privately about their relationship with God and how He helps them. Campers have 4 free activity spaces to fill, which can be canoeing, high ropes, ziplining, arts & crafts, swimming, frisbee golf, archery, boating, tubing, roller skating, and much more. Some activities are limited by age, so only older campers can access them. Campers sleep in large cabins with 30-40 or so other campers in the same block. It's a very good layout, and rather welcoming for those with trouble socializing.
A note of warning: it's absurdly homophobic. I went last year, and the entire week, the conversation of interest was sexuality and the church's opinion on it. As a Methodist with Catholic upbringing, I'm very aware of the church's stance. And as a gay girl, I'm aware that I'm not welcome in many churches, such as my previous one. At camp, I was threatened by other campers for being homosexual, and I was forced into an hour long sermon about how gay people are sinners, and I was honestly close to tears. The counselors weren't sympathetic, and I felt harassed for being open and upfront about my sexuality. Another camper, who was at the time closeted, also voiced concern over how I was being treated, and too felt unsafe.
I'm going again this year, but I feel like the camp has diminished in warmth and respect for ALL campers, and is working to show a more traditional Methodist camp. It's a nice camp, but seems to be working towards the wrong direction in terms of showing campers the word of God.

There are not enough words to truly express how special this camp is. The directors have done an amazing job of keeping the right amount of traditional elements and yet up grading with technology and to camper needs. The directors and staff are some of the best you will ever meet! Worth the time and money!!!

Amazing place for groups of any size. In the beautiful lakeside setting its extraordinarily apparent the work of christ is being done here. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities perfect for any retreat, youth or adults.

I have been to Warren Willis two times now, last year and this year. I was in the weekened camp with my church and we had stayed in a room with a common room connecting us which was extremely nice.
Now this year im just babysitting twins but I'm more or less reviewing the living space. I stayed in Cabin 15 room 2 and I have found a half dozen spiders in my room and one lizard on my pillow. I have found one outside, two on the window ledge, one on the floor, another on the ceiling, and one in my drawer. I like and enjoy the camp itself but there are way to many insects and animals getting under the doors I believe and I think that needs to be fixed. I was constantly worried about the twins being bit by one (in which they are only 9 months old) which means they would explore corners I weren't even aware of.
I think that is one of the biggest problems
