Absolutely impressive, this is one of the most interesting places for any reenactor or fan of medieval history. It is so beautifull, you really have to see it yourself to grab the ambience and soak in the epicness of this spot. So nice people there and this project is simply amazing.

Super very interesting we see how the castles were built with the materials on site, stone quarry, earth for tiles, tiles, etc ... 2 small correct restaurants. Duration of visit approximately 2 to 3 hours ... do not forget the mill which produces the flour that can be bought in the shop.

After 3 visits spaced several years I am always so much under the spell. Evolution is worth the detour.

It lacks the little spark of magic to enchant the place. It's interesting, but austere. Without turning it into a park, there would be fun activities to make us love the place. Pity.

Very good day spent in the domain of the castle despite the enormous enthusiasm of tourists. Big rush at noon is better to plan the meal before or after ... Otherwise the setting is great, the villagers at the top, the animals the decor ... In short everything is there!

Very impressive that volunteers make a castle like they used to with their tools

Magical! Seen in documentary it was already exciting but to be there for good it was magic! The look on these buildings changes because we see the people who build it, that we are in total immersion and that we benefit from the explanations of the people on the spot. Special mention to the miller who captivated us and thanks to whom we learned bcp.
I would return with great pleasure!

A must in the area. The people at the different workshops are really incredible. Very passionate, this is felt in the exchanges with the public.

Very nice place to discover to go back in time and see the construction techniques of the Middle Ages, minimum time to go around 2 hours, free parking and catering on site at affordable prices must be patient, frankly super has visited with family in even love any single site in evolution so I will return these on

Very beautiful place, many workers (not workers) passionate about this site from another time.
All the trades essential to the work of the time are represented. What one imagines of the atmosphere which was to reign in this time of the Middle Ages is clearly shown thanks to the respect for the tools and costumes of the time (apart from the forced labor and the probable violence of the time obviously).
Shaded paths around the castle.
Small flat on the snack: take a picnic especially if you intended to try a salad ... only green salad for 8 euros with 4 (thin) slices of duck breast. In short, go your way on this part of the site.

Great place to visit to immerse yourself in our history of the Middle Ages. You can visit the fortified castle, see the blacksmith, the stonemason, the manufacture of tiles, the dyer etc ... and all this with the tools of yesteryear. The splendid water mill too. In short, a good day to spend in the past and realize the intelligence of the inventors of the time.

Very disappointed. Be careful to plan your visits when there is no school, all the activities are taken and our son could not participate in any of them. Pay attention to the budget, a bit expensive for what there is to see.

Interesting tour for who wants to know how to build a real castle.

A castle that commands respect, very interesting workshops, not enough participatory for my taste, only big downside that should be seriously rectified, the catering service, very very very random logistics at least side booking sandwiches. Wait 12 minutes for a sandwich when it was booked and ordered 1:30 earlier, and this was supposed to save us time! Copy to review! An organization very badly thought! Nobody of the 4 employees who succeeded one another managed to get hold of the sandwiches reserves earlier, the black spot of the visit

Extraordinary moment to share with family. Site products like tunics or baskets are far too expensive damage.

We had a great day at the Chateau de Guedelon.
Seeing them work like before gives another dimension to all the other visits to the castle or historical monuments, because before going there one cannot imagine all the work that it represents !!!! Really a great experience

Impressive to see the tenacity and courage of these builders. The site is magnificent for walking, discovering the techniques and trades of yesteryear. The guided tour is too long and not always interesting.

Superb fun and educational visit on medieval construction and manufacturing techniques. The string workshop is really fun to do. Suitable for all ages. Don't forget to go to the river to see the mill in operation.

Not bad, but I did not feel the atmosphere of a real 13th century fortified castle ...

They are building a fortified castle ....... everything is said in the slogan. A brand new fortified castle is an improbable thing but yet it is in front of our eyes and we can visit to admire the superb work of all these workers who worked in this realization.

A fabulous experience. Are you curious by nature? Do you want to cultivate your children? Or just don't know what to do? The construction of the castle is really worth the detour! The most interesting thing for me is the village that has been built around it and which provides fuel for construction.
We learn a lot of things.
The only negative point is that the food is frankly expensive for what you eat there, which is not at all medieval. Bring your picnic!
